That's nothing new in this century. America hasn't gotten out of the Bigotry age yet. They just rephrased that garbage as "Political Correctness" and we have a Bigot President and others living in Washington DC. Was in a session with a few players and all was good. Eventually went into an off-road race and got the monster truck where you can pick your flag. I'm from Scotland so naturally I chose that flag. There were two guys with Stars and Stripes, one with a UK flag and another with the English flag (St George).

 

As soon as the race started the guy with the UK flag and the guy with the English flag start smashing into me and don't stop. I mean they go completely out of their way to make sure that I can't do anything at all.

 

It was pretty frustrating and very obvious that they didn't like me simply because of my flag. Neither of the two had even bothered with me before that.

 

I know that we get idiots and people who play just to create hassle for other players but it was sad to see outright bigotry in the 21st century.

 

Was this your first ever race in GTA? Take away the falgs and the result would have been exactly the same.

 

Stop trying to be overly dramatic over nothing.

Have an English flag in a race with 5 scots and you'll see them do the same. It's just how it is, nothing really malicious behind it but the flags give an opportunity to find common ground with another player. When you find common ground in a pvp game you look for a common enemy. France/England, England/Scotland, whatever - I'll bet even those pleasant fellows in Canada would gang together to knock an American aboot if they were 3 to 1 in a race.

Don't read too much into it, it's banter.

What's going on in the US atm has not nearly as much to do with racism as it has with a corrupt justice system. They chant that the police are murderers, while the real problem is that the justice system renders them above the law. And the US police are in dire need of extra training when it comes to making arrests since forever.

If you're referring to the Brown case, that is such bullsh*t! Have you seen what he was doing? Well, he robbed a store, resisted arrest and proceeded to assault a cop, so the cop fought back. Tell me more about that was racially motivated.

The Garner case is a different story. Even though Garner was a persistent offender and did resist arrest, the cop applied an illegal manoeuvre and should be punished for that.

Still, people are glorifying these two idiots (Brown and Garner) as if they were martyrs or something, when they were really just pathetic street criminals who got what they deserved. Did you know that Garner had been involved in over 30 crimes prior to this? You'd think he would stop after the third or fourth… I'm not saying that justifies the cop's action, but, well, nothing of value was lost.

 

OT: I doubt those guys rammed you for being Scottish, I think they were just being assholes, as most people seem to be in races, which is why I only do non-contact races these days.

OP you are not paranoid, you are right. It happened to me on two occasions, once in a race I choose an infernus, while the rest of the lobby (6 or 7 people) all choose zentornos and my car looked worse than road kill before the first checkpoint and on another occasion I was unfortunate to pick a dune buggy while everybody else choose the Sandking and that ended up being a demolition derby rather than a race, I even went off track and ALL of them followed me like a pack of wolfs.

I'm not attempting to defend racists but I don't think that hatred is constructive. Neither is your thinking. If it's okay to hate someone based on an ideology that you dis agree with then it is okay to hate someone on the basis of religion. Hate is a slippery slope like that. It's never the right response.

I think it's safe to say that's it's not good to hate anyone, no matter how bad you think they are.

answering hate with hate is all you can do in some situations. Unfortunately racists are some of the most arrogant, there is no changing them, there is no reasoning with them, there is no enlightening them. they simply view everyone who is different as subhuman and it sickens me. unless something drastic happens like in the movie American History X.. however that was just a movie. most racists stay racists. I hate them yes and it is personal. i hate people who hate me, so i guess i'm a hater to a certain degree.

You say you hate racists. But the way you described Americans sounds pretty racist to me. Unfortunately a lot of us don't think we are racist but unknowingly say racist sh*t every day.

 

i admit i'm a bit prejudice.. in terms that i let stereotypes get to my head sometimes, but I HATE NO MAN because of his skin color nor religion. I judge people off of character. And my post was specifically to those types of racists - closet racists, klansmen in disguise, which america holds a lot of. However nowhere in my post did i say all americans were racist. Was the brown case where the cop shot him even though he was un armed? And was it in ferguson usa?
