Okay I just had a lightbulb. So on last gen you get 4 character slots, two of which are locked? Now on current gen there are what.. 2? So what if your other character slots are, get this, on the other side of the glass!?!!? YES THE OTHER TWO CHARACTER SLOTS ARE COPS!!!

 

Im completely pulling this out of my ass but reading some of these threads its starting to make sense to me. With the CnC mode n all.

Maybe maybe not. I just think they locked two of the slots so cheaters cant keep starting new characters and pestering people. And so you cant divide billions of glitched dollars between 4 characters.

Hmm, when I created my second character I wondered too about those two slots. And it would make sense, but somehow I feel this will not happen.. I mean what would be the point of having a cop character? Like, you would be alerted when someone has a wanted star? Or you could put wanted stars on people if they commit a crime? What if you commit a crime? Would you be able to do missions, or just CnC? Anyway, if they really do this, I guess most of the community would forgive them all the f..kups regarding heists..

I thought a long time ago, while playing story that when online I would be able to cycle through my characters like in SP. I like Your thinking OP.

Well we all know this stuff was planned long before now. Traces in their coding and stuff. I mean why else would they lock it but have them there if they werent planning on using them? Edited by Dest45

This actually sounds quite plausible to me. What is the point in having CnC (for role-playing) if you are not dressed up as a Policeman. It would defeat the purpose of calling it CnC.

 

Perhaps the Two Slots are for a standard LSPD Officer and a LSPD Swat Officer?

Or an LSPD officer and a criminal that looks like a criminal, so people don't just run around looking like militant paintballers.

I know it's an online multi-player, but I would like this. I usually solo missions for many reasons. not looking forward to having to be paired with randoms, trolls, and general incompetence.

That would be horrible, and knowing R*, its not going to be like that anyways. We'll probably just use our own characters with police gear on that isn't available outside of CnC game mode.

Id upvote that. But itd be nice to have to actually work for the heists and have to trust and rely on other people to do there part, more rewardig that way. Just like the phantom bow from battlefield 4. Don't know how many will get the reference.

I often play contact missions only with my brother and a friend, without a mic it's hard to get other players to work a plan out! So I find myself doing contact missions alone when nobody else can play, I thought it would be the best possible idea for the character slots

You're ass has a very good theory!

 

Personally, I would love to be a cop in gta online. Owning a cop car, pull over AI players, patrol roads. Like the cops mod on GTA 4 pc.

I understand that, but you would think you could still play alone for a smaller reward! They do it now with every mission, reward you for playing with crew members and friends. But they still give you the option to go do it yourself

apparently not every CNC mission involves police. some are crooks VS crooks.

 

at this point i believe it as a safe assumption that the last two character slots to unlock are your crook and your cop.

people would be able to play as cops in a CnC-type of freeroam?

 

i didnt like cnc back in IV, but if thats the case, count me in!!!

I don't think this is too far fetched. Perhaps the slots are meant to be for characters in different game mode. Could be CnC, could be that zombie mode everyone is so fond of.
