Stuck on Installing (PS3)

Hello, i have recently run into a problem that I can't seen to fix. The game gets stuck on loading the 8gb install of the game. It usually stops around 950-1050 mb and won't continue. The animation either slows downs or stops and in all cases the music stops after a while. It is a hard copy of the game.

 

I have checked my availible storage on my PS3 and I have over 100Gb left so I dont think storage is the issue. I also updated to the latest patch 1.18, and reloaded the game before I started the install of the 8gb as it didn't work before. It got stuck again so I stopped the installation andI don't know what to do next.

 

My ps3 is located in a pretty tight spot so is there a chance something is blocking the fan and harming the installation?

 

My Ps3 downloaded DC universe (20Gb) just fine.

 

The game is a used copy so is there a chance that could be the problem? The game loads fine on the initial bootup but the installation doesn't work. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

I had my wifi off for the install as it is not needed, and the first two times I tried it with wifi on, it didn't work. The 1.18 patch installs and work, just the 8gb installation that stops.

Try uninstalling the 1.18 patch, reinstall, quit, then reinstall the patch. The patch wasn't meant to be installed before the base game install.

Tried that this morning, I found my problem. There were scratches on the game, my console was wheezing and making a lot of noise during the installation process which lead me to doubt the disc and check it. I didn't see the scratches before, they are small but are pretty deep enough to make a difference.

Sorry to bump this but I have an update.

 

I switched the disc and got another used. It worked!

I have the same problem right now, exactly the same as you had. I've tried almost everything but I've never thought about the disc. The disc looks just fine though, I always thought it was something with my ps3.

If your ps3 works with other games, it's probably the disc.

Yes it was my disc. I can play now, but with my own disc. I installed the game with the disc of my nephew and now I can play again with my disc, weird
