I remember the GTA:SA manual. R* made the best manuals...

I was 9 at the time of GTA:SA's release and for my birthday (October 18th) My dad pre-ordered it for me.

I got it at exactly 12:00 October 26th at my local GameStop. I couldn't play it the next day due to school but I fell asleep reading that gorgeous manual. First opening the case to see that huge map. I couldn't sleep because I was sooo excited. Then taking a look at the manual and reading it. It was great.

very very interesting; i dont remember GTA IV's manual, but GTA VC and GTA SA's game books were great. Unfortunately, those lil books cost money to make, and R* likes making money more than spending it. Which is why in today's age of gaming, instead of an informative manual that's artistic and interesting, we get single sheet pages with the controls on the front and copyrights and health warnings on the back.

I'll vote SA.

It's hard to pick a favourite because they were all awesome. I was disappointed when I opened my GTA V case for the first time to realise all it had was a crappy two page booklet. I did download the digital manual on my I Phone, but have never read it.

Not the same as the physical manuals from GTA III to GTA IV/EFLC.

The Dedito Gae

the IV manual is great, it looks like a tourist guide of the city, it treats LC like a real place.

SAs was like a tourist guide/pamphlet thingy but it was so intriguing for some reason... remember that 'monkey juice' ad?

GTA 3's manual was my favorite. It wasn't trying to show itself off as a guide book or tourist pamphlet like the last few ones were. If anything, it was just good 'ol "how to play the game" with Rockstar's classic tongue in cheek humor back when Grand Theft Auto meant "Grand Theft Auto".

Defo GTA 3.

I liked how it had that 3D map. It was also really original as well, it wasn't your generic manual simply explaining controls and such.

Vice cities was good as well. I remember reading it on the bus on my way home, seeing the new screens in the manual amped me up even more.

I can't remember what San Andreas manual was like, pics?

the one from IV, it was a tourist booklet, I loved it, then again it was my first non pirated game so it had actually more than just the disc, so yeah.

I never really though about it. I do really miss manuals though with games becoming more and more likely to have digital manuals instead of physical ones. Every time I'd pick up a game when I was younger I'd look at the manual during the drive home and get all hyped up to play my new game. It's not related to GTA at all but I really enjoyed the Twisted Metal game manuals, they show pics and info of all the characters(along with their vehicles) and all the weapon pickups and such(besides secret ones of course).

The VCS one was great. UFO, hooker winning money, funny ads. I loved the toursit guide, or "Best Of" Liberty City.

GTA SA without any shadow of doubt.

I'm not able to find the right words to express the feeling when I first opened the box. It was really cool to read the City guides book detailing all the interesting tips, the portrait of SA, the neighbourhoods to explore, what and where to eat, shop, and even what not to miss. The sounds of SA, the personals of entire R* team including a small, nice mention of the favorite GTA fan communities as well, at the end of the book. But, it was when I saw the map with Tenpenny picture on one side, and how f*cking awesome expanded the world looked so much, that the impatience and all the curiousity levels reached to an insane level to turn the game on f*cking right now.

That was the last time a GTA game made such an impact on me. :/

GTA III's one for me. I remember reading it again, again and again, even if I already played the game, I couldn't stop looking at it. Same with every other booklets from GTA. But as GTA III was my first GTA, it's obvious that it deserves the first place for me! :D

But if I could vote for any of them, I would. :p

It makes me sad that R* didn't make an "official" booklet for GTA V. it was one of the thing that kept me hyped during those 2/3 years. When I opened the box, the map was there, sure, but something was missing for me. :/

GTA 5 had a very nice black cover for manual but nothing inside. GTA SA wins.

Yeah GTA SA was so good, there were cheesy (in a funny way) commercials on shows and other stuff, it was so imaginative and weird and funny.... I loved it so much, and look at manuals on games today. Hell alot of games on the PS4/xbone doesn't even have any manuals anymore, not even the 2 page ones! WTF

All of them, except for V's one. I just prefer holding a paper manual in my hand. I'm not a fan of the digital manual that V had.

Vice City criminal

GTA 3 and GTA IV. I remember the first time I bought GTA IV and looking the manual for nearly an hour.
