Things the R* needs to remove from GTA.

jeez what do y'all not understand, that would require NOT holding your hand throughout the game and since most of the player base are CASUALS they'd never get past most of the missions… then R* would have to deal with a bunch of pissed off CASUALS.

fixed for you

let's be honest, R* never thinks in the kids when creating a game (Trevor and full nude titty joints say hi), only in the f*cking casuals that cried her tits out when IV came out.

No, you didnt fix anything. I'm probably as casual as it gets when it comes to video games. They make up about 1% of my life. I only play after work or on the weekends and sometimes dont play at all. (I probably spend more time on GTAF than i do on the game itself.. ) I hardly ever play the game but when I play I appreciate the sense of a challenge. GTA V is the least challenging, least interesting game to me. The game pretty much holds your hand the whole time, with checkpoints every 5 minutes for KIDS.. not CASUALS… I was a KID playing GTA III, VC, and SA; and enjoyed the challenge presented in those games. There was not much instructions, and no checkpoints. Im not sure if it's because i'm an adult now or what, but GTA V presents no challenge. The Linear aspect of completing missions was not exactly present in the 3d era of GTA, it was get the objective done, any way you could.

you sound almost worse than those "gl0ri0us PC Mastur race" morons.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I didn't mean to simply turn off the HUD (I know you can do that already), but find a way to be less dependent on the HUD and focus more on the action. The information is still given to you but through other means.

Just to give an example, when you're driving to a mission you have to stare at the mini map on bottom left corner to see the route, on first person driving they can offer windshield navigation display, just like in modern cars. When you take damage make it so it's more visible on your character depending on the amount of heath left, so you can tell how much health you have at any given moment simply by looking at your character without having to look at a bar or a number at the corner of the screen.

I am not saying to simply turn everything off and leave you blind, but rather incorporate HUD elements into the actual game or at least make staring at the HUD less of an issue by providing alternatives.

I do feel that it is getting outdated and other games such as Metro series or Deadspace series found ways to provide information in more immersive ways.

I like how Watch Dogs shows the direction to go by putting a light line on the actual street itself. Staring at a minimap for 80% of a car trip should be a thing of the past.

I'm all for a GPS system built into your phone instead of the map.
Interestingly enough, in the game files there is a icon for gps navigation that was meant to be on your phone, R* clearly wanted to implement that feature but probally backed down because of them damn noobs who would get lost constantly your just dont like the phone

I think they got rid of your score screen after you finished a mission on new Gen. That was annoying as hell. I could have had a great mission, lots of fun then the screen pops up.. 50%. Then I feel crap because according to Rockstar I didn't tick all the boxes and play their way. It always left a sour taste in your mouth.

Rockstar needs to get rid of crappy pop music thats been seeping in. Yeah, sure some of the music in Vice City was considered crap pop music but today's sh*tty pop music is a far different breed than pop music of the past. At least Artists like Human League wrote their own music. We don't need Fergie and stuff like that. We can just switch on MTV or any pop music station to hear that. Why do you think in a GTA it would be different? To add to that...

I'm all for realism.. make the game seem alive and like real life. However, it's a videogame and there needs to be an element of fantasy or at least a take on it. I know we'd hear Fergie or Rhianna in real life on the radio but you know... doesn't mean it has to be in the game.. Then again, music is subjective... It's just GTA worked well without that stuff before.

Next GTA set it in the past. That way we don't get bored of similar cars, clothes current affairs, hair styles and clothing styles etc.

The weird thing is that the pop station has a bunch of great classics from the 80s and 90s mixed in then we hear Britney Spears after Jamariquoi and Gorrilaz,

Thanks for going out of your way to point that out. I didn't know there was other stations. I thought there was only one. Damn... I've been listening to Non Stop Pop on repeat for months :(

Anyway, now that I know there was other stations. It's only a little thing that bugs me. Not the end of the world. I just don't see much point of having music that's really commonly played on the radio anyway, being in a GTA. GTA is supposed to be a unique experience. But listening to music for teen girls isn't really my cup of tea.... you know, me being probably the actual smack-bang epitome of target audience of the game.

EDIT: To further add, GTA for many people was about discovering good, new music that they may not have once heard. Maybe it's not but I'd try preserve that notion. Fergie or Rhianna aren't actually going to be remembered in the future for anything of actual musical merit. Unlike say, Lee Perry or Yes or any of the other decent artists in the game.

There was still a lot of good music on other stations. I discovered some new songs on Mirror Park and Vinewood Blvd radio.

Now I see your point, in fact, GTA V introduced me to Sleepwalking and Heart in the pipes.

i listen to these two songs in my ride all the time

They really need to remove the ESP the cops has when you shot someone on Mount Chillad with a silenced pistol at midnight and you get a wanted level. I can understand if it was in the city, but on top of a mountain? They should've done it like RDR where only a witness could give you a wanted level if they report it to the cops instead of the cops showing up 5 minutes later on top of a mountain.

The worst thing for me is the automatic wanted level after you kill a cop regardless whether someone sees it or not. The peds are bad but occasionally you can get away with killing a few without a wanted level, but cops are automatic and it shouldn't be that way, especially if you sneak attack one.

The loud mouthed, over sensitive, 911 dialling jerks that Rockstar call pedestrians.

Reinstate the funny cops, weird hobos and countless other quirky citizens that used to roam the streets of previous GTA installments.

Cheers!

I actually managed to kill a bike cop who was on the side of the road with a radar gun without getting a wanted level(on PS4). I saw him while driving up(forget what car I was in but it was a muscle car) and decided to hit him, fully expecting to get a star. I was completely shocked when I took him out and no wanted level came.

I have to disagree on hospital respawns. Sorry but it's a GTA tradition and has been since GTA 1. Other than that and bullet wounds, I somewhat agree with the rest.

Well it wouldn't feel very realistic to have your character unscratched after being wounded with bullets several times.

It`d still feel more realistic than having full of holes on your body and face. And those holes don`t even look like bullet wounds but just like some drill holes in the steel.

It looks really ridiculous.

And the fact that your armour isn`t visible is another absurd. Why our armour can`t be visible like those cops have? I can live with drawing my weapons out of nowhere but i can`t feel very grounded when watching my character in the cutscenes still having more holes than swiss cheese all over the body and face.

Well, someone mentioned here on the forums how The Getaway had a good damage system. I agree with that and R* should take something from it.

Flashing screen when you kill someone.

3 main characters.

That are probably the least frustrating things in V...

The GTAV police force is absolutely overpowered. They are constantly spawning around you and ALWAYS know EXACTLY where you are. And it takes 10 days just to lose them when you're already out of sight.

1) Scripted car chases. GTA IV had them and GTA V is plagued by them. Examples include the missions Franklin and Lamar, Chop, Father/Son, Fame or Shame, and many of the heist that involve escaping via vehicle. Each of these missions and others are ridden with scripted vehicles to obstruct you, explosions, and alot of other Michael Bay esque situations. These make the car chases feel very linear. I think it should only be you and the car you're chasing to give it that authentic feeling and the feeling of possibilities knowing anything can happen.

2) Visible bullet wounds. This one here is new to the GTA series and I hope by GTA VI it's a thing of the past. It just looks utterly ridiculous running around with bullet wounds on your protags head and body, especially when you trigger a cutscene and they're still there.

3) Hospital respawns. Now this is in every GTA I've played. We die and wake up outside the hospital but I propose something different. What if...instead of dying and respawning, the game rewinds itself to moments before we died to give us another opportunity. I'm not talking about checkpoints here bc they only exist during missions. I mean in free roam as well.

4) Special Abilities. To be blunt I hate them. GTA's are already fairly easy and with the addition of superman Rage mode and copy/paste Max Payne slow mo, it's on a ridiculous level of simplicity.

5) Peds who're 911 happy. You all know about this one.

If you can think of anything else that annoys you as well, I'd love to hear it.

I agree with everything but hospital responds.

I hate the bullet wounds too. they look like f*cking tattoos. I also hate after dying in GTA you get stuck with this hostile animation where you're hunched over.

2. dictating outfit styles by character. why do i have to buy clothes that supposedly are supposed to 'fit' my characters personality. if i want to dress trevor like a gangsta i should be allowed to.

make sense, they can't create a whole warddrobe full of ugly clothes for every character, i'm sure that you wouldn't dress like an old man so why Trevor would dress "gangsta"?

.

Because its a game. Lol

-Franklin has the worst f*cking style. I try my best to make him look cool then I switch back hes wearing f*cking checkered-suit pants and one of those shirts that resemble his default ones. I laughed for a but then the frustration kicked in.

-Also, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I switch to Trevor, he's doing some weird sh*t or he's in trouble with the cops. It really makes me cringe how R* has to emphasize so hard what a psychopath he is. WE GET IT! He;s crazy! Don't have to shove it down our throats!

-And Michael, the hypocrite. and his f*cking abysmal family. I would probably like the story more if Mike's family was actually worth caring about. But no, they're living hell and I dont know why Mike would give up his awesome life for such sh*t kids and a slut wife. Jimmy, I want to kill him in the most crucial way, he drugs his dad and Tracey is a f*cking slut that would do anything to get famous. Amanda. well, what I said before is explanatory. And M himself, i don't even like playing as him. I thought playing him would be like playing Robert DiNero from Heat but I was sorely mistaken. When I'm playing him I feel like I'm playing some depressing old bitch who hates everything and screws over anyone.

I agree with everything except for the part where you insulted my fav protagonist

But unfortunately you`re right. But we can`t blame him since there`s a reason he became a selfish hypocrite- his annoying family.
