have the friend track the IP

The IP of the console starts with 10.0.0 right? Can I check the routers connected devices and see the IP? That's where I've found the MAC Address, how could I find the location? And the point of this thread is to have someone befriend the thief, leading to more information about him.

No, they've stolen my PS4, which his account were on. He doesn't have an PS4 yet, so he used to come over and play mines.

Look, just buy a new PS4 or get a close friend to do it (asking randoms is one of the worst thing to do, 90% sure to screw it up and scare off the thief into changing accounts). If you get it back, sell one of the PS4s or give it to your cousin.

I'm really serious about this, instead of spending another 400+ on a PS4, 200+ On a PS3, 300+ on replacing games and controllers, I could at least retrieve some of the missing items.

Theft cases unless it's grand larceny they won't even waste their time though sadly, couldn't tell you what to do besides just save for a new one bud. Also anyone who had been in your house is suspect. It also portrays someone young or very stupid as previously stated due to them logging onto an existing stolen account instead of wiping you from the system like a smart person would do by initializing the system.. Since OP claims it was a burglary, someone who intruded his/her home, I think the cops will take it pretty seriously.

The officer who had reported seemed like an nice guy who'd try to help us get the system back, but it's the process. Only problem I see in it is the officer getting an subpoena, so the department could contact Sony, once Sony gets the IP, the Department contacts the cable provider the IP were issued by for the physical address. This all could be done in a week, if the officer is on-top of his game.

And it would be best if you get someone who is female or pretends to be female to catfish this person into giving up information.
