I constantly see topics on off road advice and which is better and it seems the dubsta 6x6 gets alot of love. Personally i hated mine and sold within a week. Its faster than the sandking yeah but it slides all over. If you are doing dirt trail offroading its faster but what about true offroading. Try taking it up steep mountains and it slides around like a bitch and cannot get grip. What is the love for the 6x6 am i missing something? It seems to me the Sandking has been and always will be the king of rugged offroading and rock climbing (disregard the monster trucks because they arent storable)

I love my off-roaders, but my Akuma is better than all three put together.

Sandking is the king of sand, literally.

Dubsta is a nice reward for reaching Lvl 100 tho.

I don't get these topics, where people ask about others, which car they should get... test drive them both in SP, and decide for yourself, in the end nobody else cares what you drive or not. You should like it, not the others.

Thank God, this topic is different. I like both, the Sandking & the Dubsta 6x6. Because of garage limitations, i only own the Sandking right now. It might lose a race against the 6x6, but it IS better in extreme situations. I created a short race through the canals, the Sandking is able to finish it, the 6x6 isn't, because its too small.

I think most people get the 6x6, because it looks (and is) more expensive, while the Sandking looks ordinary & is available at any level. Make the Glendale a rare 2 million dollar classic, and it will end up the most sold car, behind the Zentorno & Adder, just because of its 'worth'

Tbh the Liberator is an absolute MONSTER (pun intended) at off-roading. That thing makes chilliad look like a speed bump!

As for dubsta vs sandking, the dubsta has more climbing power but I do agree it gets a bit squirrely at times and spins out randomly.

The sandking is a bit more stable, but I suppose your decision between the two could be based on many factors like price, rank restriction (dubsta) and whether you want something stable and planted (sandking) or if you actually prefer more of a challenge from using the dubsta.

Personally I have all 3, dubsta 6x6,sandking xl and the liberator, as well as a paneless dune buggy and I enjoy rotating between all 4 of those when I feel the urge to off-road.

Whichever one you choose, I would highly recommend using off-road tires, skipping the suspension upgrades (for maximum clearance) and skipping any bumper/fuel tank upgrades (sandking) that reduce clearance and increase your chance of getting stuck on things.

Happy off-roading!

I love my Sandking and monster trucks. No skid plates suspension lowering or anything to kill ground clearance. 8 had a 6x6 for a week like i said (back when sandking 4x4 was messed up) and i didnt like it at all. Imo i tried climbing a route up chilliad that i made many times in the sandking but the dubsta just couldnt grip at all and kept sliding down.

Again we are talking 6x6 or Sandkings. Leave the monster trucks and other offroads out.

Sandking xl is miles better. Bullet proof from the rear with the roll bar on the back too.

The sandking doesnt have a bullet proof rear.

With the roll bars mod it does.

I prefer SUV cab even though not bulletproof.

All 3 characters that me and my Wife use own Sandkings. 2 XL's one with the SUV cab and one SWB. This truck is fun as sh*t. Haven't tried the Dubsta 6X6 but 6 wheels is not something that is appealing to me.

How important is it to have the Sandking's suspension unmodified, in other words fully raised?

For those of you who advocate leaving it raised, have you tried it both ways? Fully raised, and fully lowered?

I understand that more ground clearance equals more ability to go over obstacles. However, more height also equals higher center of gravity, which in turn equals more chance of tipping over if it gets at a severe enough angle.

All I'm saying is there is no such thing as a free lunch; with any choice, there are consequences. Some are good, some are bad. I really want to hear from someone who has tried the suspension both ways back to back over the same areas and can say how the trade-offs played out.

I'm also curious about the bumper. I've looked at stock as well as with the "skid plate", which as you know is more of a lip than a skid plate. I understand the rationale behind not having that lip. But I've also looked at the vehicle and have seen that the front differential sits just as low as the bottom edge of the modified bumper lip, so really, what difference does it make to leave it off?

One final question: Has there ever been a consensus on which Sandking is better for offroad, the SWB or XL? I've heard different opinions over the last year, and never knew if the matter was decided or not.

in this "race" ive made sandkings dominate. more like an extreme off road trail.

the dubsta can finish but its minutes behind the sandking.

Please enjoy!

Well, to be fair a huge part of that race is less off-road than "in-river" which is very, very likely responsible for the huge time discrepancies you describe. Those forced respawns for anything that sits lower than a Sandking as soon as the vehicle takes a lick of water damage - even if the vehicle is still going - eat a lot of time. The rest is very doable (and quickly so) in a Dubsta 6x6 as well as the Sandking.

So, while it is true that the Dubsta drowns quicker than the Sandking which is a factor if you, as in this race, want to drive the length of a river rather than just cross it, both vehicles are usually a lot closer together in terms of total offroading capabilities, although they have very different strengths and weaknesses.

I would strongly advise storing both for all your offroading needs.

Fun race, though, overall. Kudos! :)

I've never liked the Sandking, always used my Bifta for off roading or maybe my Rusty Rebel.

The Dubsta replaced both of those.

6x6 all day long.

Never wanted an XL for off road, you want a SWB if you want a sandking.

But the 6x6 is, well, a 6x6. I have never wanted ed for anything when off roading on that thing.

The SWB is very good, although I recently sold mine to make space.

I prefer taking an off road modded 4x4 Dubsta or a Baller out for some realistic trailing, but the 6x6 comes out for the hardcore stuff.

The dubsta always was a beast machine from the start. The two extra wheels just made it simply the best in class. Weirdly it can be rather bouncy but it can still climb hills and obstacles with ease and in my experience, make it through most water logged areas. The other benefits of the 6x6 include:

-it's German

-it has six wheels

-it is level locked so not all can have it and those that have the ability to have it can not always necessarily afford it

-it is also a luxurious vehicle (reference to oligarch/sheikhs)

pretty versatile tool i would say

I own the XLSandking for my off road duty. I've read that the SWB performs better but I've never had issues with the bigger truck. The Dubsta 6x6 is a great truck for the city, and light off roading, but the Sandking can drive over just about anything.

I can't really enjoy the Sandking. It's such a big vehicle it feels like the Overcompensating Driver's Deluxe. But that's just my personal feeling on both Sandkings.

One final question: Has there ever been a consensus on which Sandking is better for offroad, the SWB or XL? I've heard different opinions over the last year, and never knew if the matter was decided or not.

I first want to address the "skid plate" feature in your statement. Yes it does affect rock climbing. I have tested this with both sandking xl and swb. With the skid plate on and going full speed and you hit a rock you pretty much hit a brick wall where with no skid plate you have a better chance of bouncing over it. If just doing a slow drive to climb the rock the skid plate makes you have to come at crawling over the rock at a different angle then if you did not have the plate. Yes the axle sits at the same level as the lip but there is the gap between the lip and the axle that makes the difference concerning where you can grip on your climb. It is slightly noticeable but is still there.

As for the difference between the SWB and the XL I personally don't see much of a difference in 90% of off-roading. I can go just about anywhere with my xl as I can with a swb. the only difference there really is the length of the truck and the width. The swb is great for narrow areas and areas where you need a short length of the vehicle to maneuver. Other than that they are pretty much the same.

Now for your final point you brought about about suspension. I personally have not tested this. I have some friends in our off-roading crew that can go any way on this topic. Some lower it one level to help with bounce, others leave it alone because they like the bounce, and others lower it all the way because they get more control in most climbs. It really is driver's ability and preference. All I can say is test it out for yourself and find what suits you best.

I've always preferred the short wheel-base Sandking....but that's me :p - they all have similar performance - all depends on your own personal taste
