How good can GTA V on PC look?

I mean it already looks stunning on PS4/ XBOX One and even ps3/360. Man, this game is going to look amazing on PC! What do you guys think? If you still don't realise the potential, just look at this time lapse on ps4. Not only how good it looks, but the main difference with PC would be how good it plays - 60fps! TBH, Im happily expecting ps4 visuals. Why? Because then that means my gtx 770 would be able to play the game at 1080p 60fps, with atleast 2xmsaa, And still look good.

My answer to your question, which ive already answered many times in different topics, is that,

there will be no difference between the visual quality of Next-Gen consoles and the PC except a few options like better anti-aliasing, better draw distance, and greater resolutions.

They can make it look better on the PC but they won't, or else the console-lovers would cry like babies and whine about it. (which R* does not want)

So please dont expect a new game from them..

btw, there is really no need for another topic like this btw. Cz we already had a topic previously about "GTAV for PC being truly next-gen or not?" - http://gtaforums.com/topic/747734-gta-v-for-pc-will-it-truly-be-next-gen/

Thnx

I think it will be slightly better than PS4. But AA and 60fps is enough for me. :)

If it looks like it does on PS3 and runs at a constant 45 FPS with AA, it's enough for me. Not a tall order but, you know, Rockstar...

I know Rockstar makes quality games and that their latest PC port looks and runs simply amazing.

I think he was referring to Max Payne 3.Probably one of the best modern PC games out there when it comes to performance.

PC setup with 750ti will match up with PS4 visuals, just like with every game released so far. I hope they will push the fidelity for maximum settings, not including 4k but in eye candy stuff like lighting shadows, reflections,AO,textures, weather effects, better tessellation.

I'll be fine with somewhat better PS4 visuals and 60 fps for vanilla game but we'll see.Simple SweetFx will make a huge difference especially in this game. Can't wait for the first PC screenshots...and CG vs PC comparisons xD We'll see.

Unless you bought it on Steam.

But yeah that's true. However one well optimized game doesn't make up for what... 15? 20 poorly optimized ones? Since GTA III Rockstar have been releasing nothing but poorly optimized games for PC. Am I supposed to ignore that just because they eventually released one well optimized game? I'm slightly less skeptical about GTA V but that's about it.

That's true, but MP3 goes to show that unlike some companies, R* is actually trying to perfect their art on PC. And I think we can expect same level of quality with GTAV.

You may be right because PS4 and Xbox1 are new and devs don't really want that their games look different in consoles and PC, for marketing reason.

But with all you said as differences, maxed up, it must look better anyway.

I also expect better textures and shadows. Maybe better lighting effects.

In fact the only things that should not be better is the objects, landscape, and characters modeling details.

Oh yes. I would love to see better textures, lighting and shadows.. But im pretty sure they wont be any major graphical improvements. Actually i would also like to see better player models..

I really hope we get headlight shadows on PC. I was shocked to find out that they still weren't there in the new versions of V, after IV brought them to the table on last gen so many years ago.

It's a small thing, but V is made out of small things. Small things that make it great.

Night shadows are CPU-killers instead of GPU taxers. Considering how crappy PS4 and X1's CPU is, I'm not surprised that Night Shadows didn't appear.

IV's NS are so much of a CPU killer, that on medium settings alone, it tanked my FPS down from 40-60 FPS to 15-30 FPS.

I don't think there will be a big difference, all previous GTA games were ports with few basic graphics options, don't think it will be different this time. They could partner up with Nvidia or AMD and add some exclusive graphical features, I would be surprised if they did but this ain't gonna happen. So the major differences you'll see gonna be higher resolution, better anti aliasing, draw distance, foliage and such.

I'm begging for an option to remove the damn blur. I haven't played the game yet but I watched some "next" (current) gen videos and the background is so blurry that it seems that the player has myopia.

That's depth of field. The NG versions already have an option to turn it off in the menu. Most people just leave it on, by the looks of it.

Superior once the PC video card market evolves to the next gen

I hope that's a joke. PC hardware is already 5+ years a head of current PS4 hardware.

That is a little exaggerated :p, 5 years ago a PC equivalent to a PS4 was probably worth a LOT more money than the PS4...

Yes I don't think there will be much difference with the CG version, probably 60 fps, ped/traffic density slider and maybe one "ultra-high" textures option (with CG being "high"). There is not THAT many people with PCs capable of much more than a PS4 for R* to bother with ultra high graphics...

For me V's CG graphics looks very good, more than that and having to run it at 60 fps would probably require a very powerful PC.

I feel so much better now that I know the FPS drops with night shadows for other people too.

OnTopic: GTA V will most likely look just like the console version with better AA and maybe draw distance.

I do hope textures will be better though. Some textures are still blurry on new gen. :/
