Hell no.

 

I get disconnected every once in a while but i stay in my own server. I've been in servers where half the people get dropped at the exact same time. No way this is due to characters.

noit's due to sh*tty internet connections, that's you being removed from everyone else in the lobby not them leaving.

 

 

 

 

Its not due to his personal crappy connection. It happens to me too and I have upwards of 50mbps and about 5-7 mbps up. I literally cant buy a better/faster connecion here and I see lobbies get emptied. Im also unplugging the router and going directly into the modem when I gta.

 

Definitely not peoples personal connections.

yeah this has nothing to do with our speeds...everyone who posts about this problem always has more than adequate bandwidth, correct port forwarding and the lot...so it is definitely on rockstars end...i just wish they would admit it

Rockstars support is the biggest joke, i asked them why my snapmatic photos dont save and they told me to make a new character and a new social club account. Seriously the biggest waste of time asking them for any help at all.

You do realise you have to physically upload them on next gen? It's not automatic like it was on 360/ps3.

Yeah definitely not logic, way to go R*, we all know the error is on the server end and has nothing to do with the account. I get it about every 1 or so and determines if I continue playing or not .. like last night, I was about to start a survival and got the loverly error and went to bed instead ..

 

I wouldn't do it unless yours is chronic and you have no choice but to please support, very unlikely will fix the issue.

Rockstar never had a real solution even during last gen. They always just blamed everything on us and told us to tinker with stuff we don't need to.

They need to accept responsibilty after all the time lol

Knock on wood, I've been in high 20 person rooms quite often. Well mostly play private as there are about 6 regulars and over 10 on weekends in our sessions. Only one person with issues. He has a crappy connection over a wifi booster. Wtf man. Anyway.

 

The suggestion about going and trying your account at someone else's house is solid. This would let you know if it's your account or your house.

Exactly. This gets overlooked constantly. It seems to be totally random which suggests that it is not always on Rockstar's side.

 

Everyone I play with has had an issue of some sort but nothing too horrendous. The only known exception is the person with a wireless connection.

Free roam is okay, occasionally I suffer from the empty lobby glitch where everyone leaves. Matchmaking is a bit more of a constant issue though. With a low number of players, I have no issues joining games, and playing. When I have a higher amount of players, then there are issues. Random disconnects before the mission starts, players getting kicked during lobby, the lobby disbanding, I have to keep my player count low in order to ensure that nothing will screw up...which sucks, because I have a map specifically made for a full 30 player lobby... but I can't even test it yet.

People think they know how to connect a modem and configure the wifi that their IT pros. Wake up.

 

Try new modems/router. Try taking your console/modem to a friends with no issue and see if you can recreate the issue there. Also, upspeed is almost as important as down, so you got crap upload speed, you won't send data at correct speeds up the servers causing a crush.

Game crashes long before I get any chance to see an unknown network error. Yay, I'm winning the connection race!

 

Oh wait..

 

I think in my whole time of playing GTAO, I have seen the unknown network error a maximum of 5 times.

 

Using wireless isn't an issue for me personally. Never had any problem with it (outside of GTA).

I told Rockstar before you question my internet setup and speed I have Virgin super hub 2 broadband, one of the best speeds you can buy - so if you want to question if its on my side go tell it to Richard Branson.

wow ok just got this response to my known issues. My issues were about passive mode glitch, cars facing the other way in r* verified race modes (or flipped on their back), not seeing any free-roam activities & Network issues. PS4

 

Hello sweetbrother,

Below you will find some troubleshooting that should help resolve the issues you are experiencing. These troubleshooting steps come directly from Sony's website.

Step 1: Booting Up in Safe Mode:

The PS4 system has the ability to start up in Safe Mode. This allows access to several functions that can provide you with a way to clean up and potentially fix many issues you may be experiencing.

  1. Turn off the PlayStation 4 by pressing the power button on the front panel. The power indicator will blink for a few moments before turning off.
  2. Once the PlayStation 4 is off, press and hold the power button. Release it after you've heard two beeps: one when you initially press, and another 7 seconds later.
  3. Connect the DualShock 4 controller with the provided USB cable and press the PS button on the controller.

When you have successfully booted the console in safe mode several options will be made available to you.

Step 2: Update System Software:

We recommend that you perform this process before running through any troubleshooting as it is possible that your console's software is not the most recent version and this can create issues running the game.

Step 3: Restore Default Settings:

It is possible that the changing of certain settings could lead to issues with sound and display. If you are experiencing any issues of that type this could resolve your issue.

Step 4: Rebuild Database

This process will essentially replace all current data with any available backup data. This can help fix any issues that were a result of any recent changes to the database.

WARNING: The last two options of the Safe Mode list, Initialize PS4 and Reinstall System Software, will result with a complete wiping of any and/or all information on the PS4 and as such we recommend speaking with Sony before moving forward with these steps. Please keep in mind that we CANNOT restore any deleted data and advise you speak with them about how to back up save files on an external device (to prevent any loss of progress).
