Honestly, I think OP would be better served ditching their Merryweather Mesa for a Sandking, and then getting the Bison. That way you have the best off-roader, and a nice 6-seater for the city. Not 1 crap off-roader, and 1 'meh' off-roader that isn't great on tarmac, and flings its passengers out when you try and take advantage of its suspension travel.

Dubsta is a crap off roader?

Now I'm sure you're trolling. Its the second best off road vehicle with the Liberator being the best.

If you want six passenger rides, go with the Roosevelt.

... So much for taste and elegance.

Anyways...

How do you sell the Merryweather Mesa?

Can't sell it.

Just have to replace or destroy it.

I would love to see Rockstar add in a Toyota Hilux-inspired pickup truck. Very simple, elegant truck and one of my favourites!

hilux ? we've aready have one , it's karin rebel ( unlike in real life , it's not significantly durable . even if it hit by bulldozer / anything powerful , it still cause massive damage on vehicle's body )

BEHOLD SANDKING XL, THE ONLY OFF-ROAD YOU NEED.

I know I know, it's a 4-seater... SO WHAT? Besides, you keep falling off the dubsta when you ride on the back, f*ck that.

Honestly...both climb realy well and do have power....but they are so unbalanced that they are gonna fall from their steep hills if they hit a tiny rock at one side

Sandking is ovverrated

Unless youre going solo or atleast not in a random lobby...be ready to get owned on most terains by all bikes(all super cars and quite some sport cars), the dubsta, some other 4 wd suv's, and like everything in the offroad cars

Realy...it looks and customisation options are badass but not many people shoud actualy consider getting it for some practical purpose :/

I actualy think besides the super cars it might be the most blown up vehicle in freeroam :)

What the SandKing lacks is available in the Dubsta and vice versa.

The SandKing can't climb very steep hills like those in Mt. Chilliad. The Dubsta can. The dubsta can't rock jump but the SandKing does.

You're doing it wrong if you don't own both for off roading. ;)

I own both and drive both a lot. I drive them almost exclusively except when I need something far more tactically advantageous.

But I prefer the bison to be honest. Just something about driving around a vehicle I would own irl that's quite enjoyable.

I think I better ask here.....

What car should I pick up for free roam off road only? I have the Dubsta, SandKing and Patriot for mission-only stuff so that's out. I currently own a Rebel. Should I change it with a Rat Loader? Or should I hunt a classic muscle car? Anything that is decent for off roading with a "Murica" touch is acceptable.

I've owned and sold a Rat-Loader about 4 times now. It looks badass but it's steering is absolutely abysmal. If you want something PURELY for show, the sure a Rat-Loader is good. But it's 2 seater, so only carries 1 friend. If you have a bounty or is being chased the Rat-Loader will outrun literally nothing (once you reach a turn you gotta slow down so much your screwed), and it isn't good off-road.

In general the Muscle class is the more "realistic" class of cars in the game, none of them are really good off road. They maintain their speed well on dirt road, on my race Sandy Airport Loop I always set it to muscle. But in regards of hill climbing and such, no.

Really the ideal free roam car is the Sultan. AWD, can go over any terrain, and carries 4. But since you want a "Murica" touch, I'd say keep your Rebel.

Correct. Take an Adder or Zentorno. Even a Sultan offroad and you will blow by any truck in the game. This because the grip factor. Cars are given a higher grip coeffeiecnt and this carries to any surface.

However if you are out off roading with friends in trucks. Then most people's responses apply.

The Bison is the best city truck and can also go offroad decently. Of course the best mountain climbing rocket is actually a Zentorno with offroads :p.

If you like a truck to use as cover in a mission there are several really good ones, bison, sadler, rancher xl with the cab (my favourite) as it has really excellent cover. Also the duneloader is one of the best. I have a black/green matt pearl duneloader which is pretty much invisible in the bush at night. Not many people drive a duneloader in the city or missions so its a bit of a hero statement having a rust/camo military look one.

For City driving i'd go for the Bison. I had a Bison and Sadler for a short time. I used them to drive around town and do missions not requiring a fast vehicle (Rooftop etc)

Obviously if cost is an issue they are a hell of a lot cheaper than the 6x6.

All Rancher XL has a cab as it's a Off Road class SUV.

Your thinking of the Bobcat. I like the plain version with no cab or visor. I don't Gaintgaints many cars, but I have that one orange on the top, purple on the bottom, and orange wheels. It's beautifully insane. lol.

But hey, outta 80 cars you gotta go wild with a scatter one.

If we're talking carrying capacity, it's Bison. I've ridden a lot of times on the back of the Dubsta 6x6, and I've been thrown way too many times for me to even want to sit there anymore. Bison on the other hand is safe for the people in the back seat, unless you're getting shot at.

Overall performance? Dubsta, duh. I might hate Benefactor, but I'm not stupid enough to say that a city pick-up truck beats a fast off-roader.

That said I only drive Sandking. Answer sponsored by Vapid. Quality cars for mass production. Now re-selling the famous Vapid Blade in SSSA. Get it now!

What is up with modern vehicle designs? They are so fugly these days. So much unnecessary exterior elements on the trucks. I miss the 80's-2000's trucks like the tacoma, ram, dakota, etc. They all had plain but aggressive design that actually looked good instead of bulky and "fat". You could actually take the trucks off road and not scratch body panels on the ground/rocks.

Bison and Bobcat are classed as vans because there is no trucks class. The closest thing to a light duty vehicle in GTA is vans, so they class it vans.

But you think that's bad, no no no. Guess what class the Sadler is in. Utility. lmao.

It's a pickup truck the same as the Bison or Bobcat, and someone at R* thinks it's a good idea to class it with Fieldmasters, lawn mowers, and Faggio's. I own one these and if some poor fool picks a utility race and has a mic, I get so much hate. It's literally legal cheating.

If you think Sanchez in Off Road class is bad, ha, try a Faggio against a Sadler. Absolutely no prayer in the world for the Faggio.

Yea not like there isn't enough trucks.

- Bison.

- Sadler.

- Bobcat.

- Bobcat 2 (window visor and bed cab)

- Rat-Loader.

- Duneloader.

- Rebel.

- Rebel (clean).

- Sandkind SWB.

- Sandking XL.

- 6X6 Dubsta (I think??)

And no none of these would be taken out of Off Road class. The Paradise is listed as Off Road but doubles as a Van if you own one. Sandking, Rebel, and 6X6 will remain Off Road and simply double as trucks.

No I meant the rancher, the bobcat isn't the right height to fire through the windows from what I remember.
