Suspense!

When in single player, when buying a car to test before buying it online, I drive it both with default suspension and with max out suspension and cannot notice any change in performance apart from height change.

I don't put any suspension on my online cars since I can't notice and change in performance and I can save money. But I was wondering if I have been doing it wrong this whole time :S

So my questions are

Do suspension upgrades change anything?

Are there scenarios where max suspension is a hindrance?

Would it cause more hassle than its worth if I put max suspension on a sultan and took it of road? I.E. Would it bounce around more or less on the dirt track's uneven terrain?

it increases handling some by lowering the centre of gravity with the sacrifice of ground clearance

As said before. It doesn't do much for cars that already sit low, but you can really feel it in vehicles like the Sandking which flips or fishtails rather easily without suspension.

The only real hindrance I know of is on the turismo lowered all the way, has trouble with curbs and stuff like that.

Yep, I ended up putting it back to its stock setting, it handles much better .

I wonder which is lower, The Turismo with max suspension or Domislive after today? I'd bet that Domislive is so low that the Turismo wouldn't even clip him if it drove over him right now!!!

I just set my cruisers so the rear tyres sit level with the guard lip, maybe the slightest air between them. Standard good taste tactics. Practically all my race cars have stock springs. It's just more consistent like that with kerbs and bumps etc.

I can't help that the mods lock any thread mentioning Dom, So I got jokes for every thread about dom while tying in the thread's topic...

Try a fully-tuned Comet on Stock then Competition then get back to me.

This may apply to call cars, though on varying degrees.

Put this theory through a rigorous test in a 8 Race Season with the Comet,

Tracks with natural humps, bumpy roads and lots of curbs, Street or Sport is favoured as the car's suspension tends to absorb the curbs and landings from jumps.

Tracks with long straights, high speed corners, hill sections and smooth roads, Race or Competition is favoured as the car tends to sit its ass nice and comfy on the smooth roads and grips extremely well in the corners.

Though it takes some patience in driving the Comet, for beginners, your best bet is Sport, Competition provides all out of tail wagging and spin outs and can be extremely frustrating at times.

Vypernine good summary :) I'm going to try it on a comet real soon. Have you tried it with the tuner tyres, dished eight? Give it a go...

tires have never made any difference in performance for me, i just choose a rim that looks good. though ive been told off road tires help the Jester and Turismo tremendously on curbs.

I have found that the dished eight tyres are wider than all other non stock rims, and so compared to them often feel like they give better grip, especially on cars such as the dominator, futo and comet.

But a common trend I found is that if the stock tyre is narrower than the dished eight rims, then the do feel like they make a difference. Good or bad, in some cases making under steer :/
