let me explain why this is a good thing. most people who subscribe to gaming channels, especially channels that cater to 12 year old squeakers, dont actually watch every vido. domthedumbass had 500k subscribers, but his average video would get about 50k to 75k views. most kids just subscribe to a channel that they like and only come back once in a while, if at all. so even if domthedipsh*t makes a new channel, it'll take a very long time for him to climb back up to 500k subs. get the picture?

 

Im fully aware of this,but the problem lies with his gang which has a sh*t ton of subs.They will promote his new channel to get him going again even if only a small % sub him he will still get a foot hold again this time next year he will be back to were he was at.

 

yes but he can only produce gta vids for so long. this game wont be supported forever. and even if he gets back on his feet, he will not get anywhere near the amount of subs that he used to have. this day can only get better if his gang of lapdogs get terminated as well. either way, im just happy that youtube delivered a critical blow to that wanna-be youtube celebrity's massive ego.

I don't mean to be a downer on this party, but I have a moral problem with silencing anyone, look on the one hand, yes he was kind of an ass, and that's putting it lightly, but when you silencing a man, censor him, I feel indicative of an even greater crime, plain and simple, I don't like censorship and I never have, because I recognize that, where we accept and even endorse the censorship in one case, then that 'authority' will try to make it apply in other cases, maybe YOURs.

 

I may not agree with DomisLive's videos or his position or even his attitude, but I respect his RIGHT to say it, and would die to defend that right. My stance is not so much in regards to Dom specficially but just the manner in which he was elimiated. I have mixed feelings about this but hey since we all seem to like 'Picard-isms' heres one that I believes applies. Enjoy.

And what's your point? I've seen glitch videos for MANY other games posted and I've never seen entire accounts banned for it, so if is againt the TOS, then it's not enforced, but more likely it's not in YT ToS. Generally YT TOS is in regards to pornographic or exploitative videos in terms of children and animals and things like that. But to be honest, I've seen videos on YT that even skirt that.

 

The fact that R* got an account banned is im view over stepping their authority.

 

My point is he has the RIGHT to post his videos, wherever he is not breaching the TOS. R* terminating his account is an assumption.

I dont hate him nor do I emulate him because I dont care if I have tons of subscribers. My YT is nothing like Doms. I make video wallpapers and only recently upload gameplay. My YT isnt a way of making a living. Its a way of sharing a hobby. But I am not going to cry about someone being able to make a living from it.

I mean, damn Dom. The three-strikes issue went full swing after companies started attacking LPers. You SHOULD have heard of that, considering that LPers are on the stupid YT Rewind 2014 video.

I'm listening to the interview and this doesn't sound like the application of the 3 strikes policy, and more in line with the same sudden removal of other channels I've had to deal with, course those were 'political' channels in those cases, but the story has the same flow as i've seen before.

 

And if things hold true at least from my previous experiances, all he has to do is email the heck out of the support, and they will restore it, or in one of the cases, threat to sue and they restored it in less then 24 hours, course that a VERY specific case.

 

So this kind of disruption I've seen before and every time it's always been YT going beyond it's own rules, and that's WHY they restore it usually because you call them on it. So it definately has the hallmarks of not being a simple cut and dry ToS violation or any violation, if it did there would be a post across his page saying WHY it's being banned, but there is just nothing which tells me, there is some hinky stuff going on.

 

from my experiance, the LACK of a post on the page, this gives YT the wiggle room to say that, the account wasn't actually bannedm so when you email them yelling at them or what have you, for YT, they only consider it a TRUE ban, when a reason is cited. Interestingly, enough it's also something you can take to court. Se when account are 'Banned' and I say that in quotations, and no reason is cited, IF you decided to make an issue of it they usually give it back to you, and because there wasn't any 'paperwork', there's nothing to take to court, and YT can theorectically deny they ever banned you.

 

Now keep in mind this was a political YT channel that I saw this happen on and dealt with the back end, emails and support calls and all that, but you get my point, this process could be applied to anything really.

 

So based on what I'm hearing in the interview, it sounds like, that's exactly what he's going through, which means, in about 4-6 emails and a few calls, his channel is coming back. React to that as you will, but that what sounds like to me what's probably going to happen.

But AFAIK it's not a very fast process.
