I don't mean to be a downer on this party, but I have a moral problem with silencing anyone, look on the one hand, yes he was kind of an ass, and that's putting it lightly, but when you silencing a man, censor him, I feel indicative of an even greater crime, plain and simple, I don't like censorship and I never have, because I recognize that, where we accept and even endorse the censorship in one case, then that 'authority' will try to make it apply in other cases, maybe YOURs.

 

I may not agree with DomisLive's videos or his position or even his attitude, but I respect his RIGHT to say it, and would die to defend that right. My stance is not so much in regards to Dom specficially but just the manner in which he was elimiated. I have mixed feelings about this but hey since we all seem to like 'Picard-isms' heres one that I believes applies. Enjoy.

And what's your point? I've seen glitch videos for MANY other games posted and I've never seen entire accounts banned for it, so if is againt the TOS, then it's not enforced, but more likely it's not in YT ToS. Generally YT TOS is in regards to pornographic or exploitative videos in terms of children and animals and things like that. But to be honest, I've seen videos on YT that even skirt that.

 

The fact that R* got an account banned is im view over stepping their authority.

Oh my I just thought of something, this could all be a stunt pulled by Dom himself, to generate even more publicity, because just looking at here it's working.

 

Because knowing how gamers thing people will watch him MORE if they think he's some kind of rebel or revolutionary, and that he's got such an inside scoop that people are trying to silence him.

 

It just hit me like right this second. And if that's the case all you people are going is fanning and fueling his flames for him.

When you think about it... He could have done it.

 

Spam bans are temporary, and will be liften within a week, 2 weeks tops. While he's banned, we raise his popularity by talking sh*t about his banning.

 

So by the time he gets back, MORE people would have heard of him and now will want to see what's the big deal. Easy publicity stunt on YT, and exploitable since spam bans are automated.

 

I'll just stick around to discuss why freedom of speech is an illusion on the Internet, and also because this is one of the most active threads and I wanna clock in some posts before it dies of irrelevance.

 

Also, because I'm such a nice guy in GTA, I need to balance it out by being a massive asshole on this thread.

What agree to? what are you babbling about?

R* doesn't the authority to get someone banned on YT, nor does YT have to ban someone because a corporation says so, they can remove videos, that fine because those videos contain content TO that Corporation IP, but they do NOT have the authority to get someone banned on a completely different service.

 

If R* wanted to ban him from GTAO, fine that's their prerogative, but you can't just reach out to someone's online presence elsewhere and be able to exact that kind of control. No sir.

 

YT has been caught in the past with selective enforcement, banning this account but not these accounts, etc, Videos and accounts that blatently violate ToS and even simple decentcy go on while other accounts are banned for seemingly the most convoluted of reasons.

 

Now in the case of Dom is live, we would have to find out exactly what the reason perported is. But for the most part unless YT has a particular bone with you, they let ALOT of things slide.

 

Lastly, It's a shame your support for simple freedom was a phase for you, but to be honest not surprising, it's that kind of attitude that explains why not just the US but even the world is in the shape it's in.

You are also fueling the flames by crying that he is being censored and having his rights taken away when that's clearly not what's going on. A privately owned company decided that they don't want him posting on their website so they terminated his account. They have every right to do that.
