hulkhogan1
Being in the city full of cars and pedestrians is all well and good, but sometimes it's nice to get away to more quiet peaceful areas. Once you know the layout of the map pretty well, you realize you're never really too far from some kind of civilization or a main road. But there are certain areas such as Raton Canyon or the small islands off the east coast where you really feel secluded away from everything else. Also certain times like when it's night time or there's a rain storm going on really helps add to this immersion. theGTAking101 and Fuzzknuckles
Osho
Why not? The map seems empty with not much activities for the most part anyways. But, I don't choose GTA for some loneliness experience. There are other games which are miles better for a lot of the immersion factors to draw myself in.
Fuzzknuckles
This is going to sound pretty lame, but Raton Canyon is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited, in game or in real life. Just stunning. Sunsets in particular. Very clever world design by R* there - the positioning of the canyon on the map must have been partly inspired by the sun setting on the west. It's definitely my favourite part of the map to just wander around, alone. Truly magnificent. Probably 60/70% of my game time has been aimless exploration, and that sense of real solitude is perfect for it. Sneakymist and Mintal 2 Signatures are dumb anyway. Uncle Vlad
Well, I wish there would be more areas like RDR´s tall trees in GTA V, but there are still some nice quiet areas. As OP mentioned, the small islands off the east coasts are very nice and I also like the palomino highlands at night. Bobbyleez
SmokesWithCigs
Get a helicoptor and go to the coastal side of mt gordo. Its really isolated peaceful there's lots of foliage with pretty grass and flowers. You can just stare off into the see and gather your thoughts. The morning as the sun is rising is a good time to go there also there is a small spring near there. Mintal
Agree with Fuzznuckles. Raton Canyon is a very nice place, especially at night (creepy) or at sunrise (beautiful).
Vertighost
Agree with SmokesWithCigs... There's a nice little pool sized spring around there, It's beautiful. I was hanging out there at twilight capturing some screenshots, then It got dark, I noticed I wasn't alone, there was a coyote sitting next to the spring just metres away from me, it howled at the moon, I decided to try to get a better shot to capture it in some photos my footsteps startled it and it ran away. I waited there at the spring just chillin' out and saw the coyote come walking back to the lake to chill there aswell, felt nice not being truly alone out there at night. The pool sized spring is a lovely spot isn't it!! I hadn't been back there properly on CG and revisited it last night when finding all the peyote. Sun was just starting to set and I had to just stop and marvel at the beauty of it all. One thing that I think helps with the loneliness feeling is the background music when you are flying high up and don't have the radio on, I love that tune. I wish there was an option to have that track on when you are also in a car or on foot. For me, that would help add to the isolation. John The Grudge
Given the level of detail in GTAV's map it's safe to say that aimless exploration is something Rockstar want to encourage. It's a big part of the GTA experience.
