Trouble in Tank Town

Alright, just a side note, I am aware of a "Share Your Stories" and a "B*tch and Moan" topic. I decided to make this thread because I found that it combines the two, and I don't want to post the same thing twice.

 

Anywho, earlier today, I decided to get on GTA Online with the mindset of earning my LSPD tint for my Heavy Sniper, which I was 10 kills away from. So, I join a lobby, arrange my "loadout," and order my Entity. I check the map, and there are a couple of small firefights going on. I pick one, and hop right in. After a while of crushing these guys, a different group merges with ours, and it becomes a large shootout. I'm still doing good, but I was getting killed a tad bit more. Well, some retard calls in his tank, and proceeds to drop my KD by 5 kills. Arg. We finally get him, and another one comes. I scramble up onto a roof, and everybody but the tank and one red dot flee. They were a team, and I was pinned down. Then another tank joins those guys. The red dot keeps trying to go up the ladder, but I either shotgun or sticky bomb him each time, all the while these tanks are just shooting wildly. It didn't help that I was out of RPG ammo. I just pressed "Find New Session" after about 5 minutes of this.

 

I don't care if tanks have been nerfed, they're still a pain in my rear.

Tanks are easy targets. Theyre slow and it only takes one bombing run with the jet to take it out. And the jets can easily be taken out by a heavy sniper so IMO its a well balanced game.

I have a buzzard but no tank. I see no reason to buy one tbh.

Well, you did paint yourself into a corner. In truth, I rarely ever have a run in with tanks to really have a problem with em. Yes, they can be annoying, but they're not so different than some guy driving reverse shooting you through their rear window when you can't hit them back.

Easily huh? How many heavy sniper shots does it take? There are some REALLY good pilots online that won't have trouble killing you 10 times before you hit them with the heavy sniper XX amount of times.

Id say 3 shots will make the engine start smoking and around 6-7 will make it catch fire. Thats just a guess tho. Infact im gonna do some tests later...

The best is when you're on top of a building like the construction site across from Alta and a tank comes along like "hur dur, got you" and they don't see anyone on the ground level and sit there looking around while you send an RPG down.

Next time you're pinned like that, call up your fast car or bike.. once that's up, call Lester and go off radar.. soon as you are off radar, suicide. Now they have no clue where you'll be on the spawn. B-line it to your car then to ammunation to ready for the next battle.

 

Tanks are nothing to me.. I find it entertaining killing them through multiple lines of tactics, love it when they come after me. Makes taking them out that much easier..

 

EDIT: This is a tactic I use on last gen. I don't know if this works on new gen.

They were easy to avoid before but it's nigh impossible to be caught out by one.

if u have a partner , then ask him as a bait . while u go off radar and set at least 4 explosive charges on rhino's rear armor ( be sure just threw it on drive by mode & from distance . as their camera view can spot you even if the turret is facing at your bait )

 

grenade launcher seemly best option if engaged near-long range because multiple hits but less damage than RPG as well range , but u'll have to arc the aim
