josephballard482
I used to have problems flying the jet until I realized that the problem was the jet moves too fast for me to see my target when I angle downward to fire. To slow your movement and sturdy your jet enough for you to time your accurate canon blasts at desired targets. Simply pull down your landing gear. It really is that simple. When flying with the landing gear down it allows you to fly twice as slow in the jet. Do not accelerate while the gear is down. This will allow you to aim when hunting a target and makes the jet more rigid for balance. However the jet becomes more vulnerable while gear is down so too avoid getting sniped and damaged pull gear back up when you're finishing a run on your target GN 92, irish-sid and LL Cool L

Vassago1970
Yeah, I used to do that, but leave it up, you get used to the speed believe it or not, it's just one more thing that can hit a tree or light post. ThousandFangs
Daemian
It does help with certain type of targets, if you notice the NPC jet also deploys the landning gear if you engage him, but that's a different situation. Another tip, as soon as you make a pass retract the landing gear, because you loose a lot of altitude, speed and maneuverability and that can be dangerous in the city. josephballard482
Yeah that's true as well. And actually vassago, moving faster is a reason why you would hit obstacles, not moving slower lol
nysudyrgh
Yes, yeees fly slower. It makes it easier to aim my heavy sniper.

josephballard482
Yeah that's more of common sense then a to but a tip none the less lol
Nipper
I wouldn't advise this. Sure, get some practise in with this, but only using your landing gear for.. well landing, is best. Once you get good at approximating blip location on the HUD to a physical location in the world/on your screen, you will no longer need to see your targets. Most kills I get with a jet (it's been a while though) are ones where I approximated their location and never got a eyes on my target. (I'd like to stipulate that this is against foot combatants, vehicles are so easy to strafe you don't need landing gear or HUD) YMMV, and it takes some practise. josephballard482
The best thing you can do in gta PERIOD is learn how to approximate targets on your mini map both in air and on the ground Nipper
ThousandFangs
You can use the landing gear in the air to get used to the speed difference, but it will be best to not use the landing gear while flying a jet, and you should only use the landing gear for landings. josephballard482
We're not talking about what the landing gear should be used for we're talking about what it can be used to do
