Matty256 Posted April 10, 2016 Share Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) Yea the server keeps crashing from a bug due to 1.9. I'm guessing it's crashing after the auto restart it does. (The Plugins what we use might be updated to 1.9 now so it could bring more stability to the server.) Their was talk about going back to Pinewood map awhile back as hardly anyone played on the Islands map. They must recycle the IPs pretty quickly, our GTAFMC domain still points there hence people are able to log into that random server with it, I should probably change it before someone from here thinks it's us lol. We take the map and we split it into 3 sections like so: The names are based on the heroes and villains of GTA development and can of course be changed. Dickton - The largest area comprising of half the map (for example all of x>0) where all whitelisted members can participate in building Benzington Gardens - A pompous quadrant for the class of long-time GTAF:MC players, all whitelisted can access but only elite can build Houserville - Everyone new who joins the server will be restricted to here but will have all permissions, there are no rules. Players who prove themselves decent will be whitelisted. The principle of 'anyone can play' should keep the server bubbling with activity while whitelisted members can be safe in the knowledge they won't get griefed. I envisage an interesting city forming at the centre with a mixture of fancy, middle-class and ghetto cobble buildings. On the one hand people want to carry on their creations from worlds past, but I find it less of a challenge and it doesn't draw me in. I like the blank sheet of opportunity a new world presents: it's just players in the wilderness and building a community from scratch. The race to get resources, new infrastructure, new plans, new designs and I personally like that it's a fresh book every time. It doesn't invalidate the breathtaking creations people have made in the past, those are still safely tucked away in the archives, but history has shown using the same map always goes stale. Additional idea: maybe non-whitelisted players should be restricted from going above a certain y-coordinate to stop them building towering monstrosities.
