MonsterCockDude
If your windshield gets shot from the front, it will leave a bullet hole and obstruct your view. Yet when you shoot out your windshield yourself with your gun, the windshield doesn't break at first. Eventually after a few shots the entire windshield would break. Is this a glitch or a game design, if it's a game design it doesn't make much sense as blood and bulletholes can still pile up on the windshield and obstruct your view in first person anyway, so why make it so it doesn't work when your doing a drive by? TheGoodSgtScooter
Game design. Dunno why. Ask Rstar. probably so you don't obstruct your own view. Edited December 11, 2014 by TheGoodSgtScooter

MonsterCockDude
Game design. Dunno why. Ask Rstar. probably so you don't obstruct your own view. Console Limitations It's not console limitations since bullet holes will go into your car's windshield if you or someone else shoots your front windshield from the outside but they don't go into the windshield if you shoot it from your own drivers seat. Yeah it could be game design, so you don't obstruct your own view on drive by's, but why would R* think this is a good idea anyway if the windshield can still be shot holes in it from others and if noobs who would complain that it makes the game to hard, could just switch to third person view. Crimson Flam3s
It might be a glitch. For those of you saying that it's so that your fpv isn't obstructed, well the windshield will still eventually go out, is just the first couple shots that you fire that don't seem to register. Yep, hopefully this forum can make this as big an issue as the lack of moving trees since this is a major immersion breaker. It would be nice for this to be fixed. Mr Tomato
Illuminati I'd say it's likely a design choice as if it were to behave like it should, you would have to spray many bullets all around the windscreen to remove it, which would be fine by me but GTA O exists and is making things sh*tty just like cancer or aids. The rear windshield doesn't have this though from what I remember and when playing in first person view that windshield is very important as well, but yeah catering to making the game easy and simple so kids can hop on GTA O easily knocked so many things back in this game. You know that the windshield is the strongest window in a car, right? It's made not to break, whereas the other windows (Rear Window, side windows, sunroof) aren't as strong. So it's a design choice on their behalf. Although, it's not hard to shoot 3 or 4 bullets through your windshield to break it...

Yeah but what I am saying is that bullets fly through the windshield when you do a drive by and shoot out the front, but no bullet hole decal appears on the windshield. Where as let's say your outside of a car being driven by an NPC you shoot that guy in the head and go and steal the car and you will have a big bullet hole decal on the windshield along with the blood stain. Also when the car gets shot by others it puts in the bullet holes, but when you shoot out the front the windshield doesn't show the decal and eventually just breaks where as the side and rear windshield gets bullet holes. Maybe the close proximity to the glass means the bullet just punches a perfect hole through it, rather than a hole with cracks around it.

Once you fire the 5th or 6th round then it suddenly breaks. MonsterCockDude

toybasher
They DO get bullet holes in drive by's. You gotta aim way UP more so they are visible, but they ARE there.
YourGirlHasABigNose.
There is one thing I have noticed. If you buy the windscreen cover for Trevor's truck, you can't see any of the detail on it until the windscreen is shot (in FPV). Just noting that. The whole shooting out the windscreen from the inside; it isn't a big deal is it? The one thing I can't stand about shooting from a Vehicle in FPV is that when you aim to the left side, the window does not roll down, whereas, in Third Person it does roll down. Plus, both animations are completely different.
MonsterCockDude
The latest patch has fixed this somewhat. One time I tried to shoot the front window out and it did what it used to do before the patch, but the majority of time now the bullet appears. One issue though is that a lot of the time the bullet hole appears lower then where you aimmed the gun. So it could still use some fixing.
