I've decided on making a proper topic for this discussion, I mean, there have been a lot of topics regarding it but I've always felt they were cut short and often missed important content. The poll I've organized is rather complete.

Grand Theft Auto: Advance is not included due to not featuring any sort of radio commercials and/or proper order.
The earlier titles do have proper radios along each having some sort of meaning. Such as official station name and so on.

I'd like to hear valid opinions on the topic rather than just saying the preference alone. Thank you.

San Andreas. Great mix of classic rock, alternative, country, funk and, of course, gangster rap. Still love listening to Radio X driving around that square of a map. The runner up would be GTA IV with it's episodes.

Went for Liberty City Stories, I simply can't resist the dancehall reggae from K-Jah, the soft pop on Lips 106 and Head Radio (very ironic lyrics in every song that played on the two radios), the amazing d&b used on MSX 98 and not to mention the trance and somewhat clubbish music played on Rise FM. Amazing playlists for each of these stations.

It's a shame my PS2 broke and LCS isn't available for PC. I would definitely play it again otherwise. Now i can only live with the memories from my PSP :(

Homemade Dynamite

GTA V next-gen has Lorde and Gorillaz so that game wins, obviously.

Vice City. That 80s vibe is just... SA is a close second, V's new gen soundtrack ain't that bad either.

people really need to stop posting "best" and start posting "favorite" instead, musical taste is objective, for example some guy is saying that V has the best soundtrack because it has Lordie, i will laugh a lot less if in the title was "which gta has you favorite radio soundtrack".

PSP emulator bro. Called PPSSPP google it.

Anyways, I'd pick THE LOST AND f*ckING DAMNED! Liberty Rock Radio is so good it rivals Radio X and V-Rock.

But then again I'm a hardcore metalhead so it's a bit personal and subjective.

Musical taste is subjective. You do not look any cooler by making such statement.

Truth is, from the question itself, it goes out as someone thinks it is the best for themselves. Yes, personally, best for themselves. The question itself is meant to be taken as personal taste, yet, that's not worth mentioning since it is OBVIOUS. Therefore your point is invalid.

objective = (of a person or their judgement) not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts.

subjective = based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions.

Don't want to stray too far off-topic, but my laptop is really cheap and i don't think it can the PSP emulator. I know for a fact it can't run a PS2 emulator. Thanks though.

Personally, it's GTA San Andreas for me. I love the 80s and the electronic vibe, but I just feel more connected to SA's soundtrack. I also liked how it was very varied and you could pick a radio station for each environment across SA. Jump on a lowrider listening to Radio Los Santos, drive a chopper listening to Radio X, race through the streets of San Fierro listening to SF-UR, drive through the country listening to K-Rose, go through the desert with K-DST, there's everything.

My dad really likes the VC soundtrack though because it contains all sorts of songs he had copied on tapes back in the day.

Although I like the look of the new radio selection for V, IV's radio stations were just more appealing to me, and both over SA.

The rock, electronic, jazz and reggae stations were my favourite, and the similar ones in V just don't hold up as well. IV also had nice talk radio, whereas V...well...I don't think I've even heard one full selection of what both stations have. SA's talk radio was alright, it fit the map pretty well I'd say - but apart from the rock station, it just didn't feel too special somehow.

I voted Vice City although I can scarcely remember the soundtrack. lol. I can remember V-Rock and Flash FM having some good music.

In my opinion the best soundtracks are in:

5 GTA 5

4 GTA 4 and EFLC

3 GTA VCS

2 GTA SA

1 GTA VC

At first I thought GTA 5 was your best until I saw the numbers to the left

sorry bud, mistook the word objective for subjective in my post.

i can't decide beetwen Vice City (both) and IV and his episodes, so i'll choose IV because i prefer the Liberty vibe.
TBOGT and TLAD don't have the exact same radios?
you should change both to Liberty City episodes.

Tough pick between San Andreas and Vice City, both had enough tracks to have me singing along with the songs in almost every station.. almost every 5 minutes.

I'll go with Vice City simply because the 80s music has always been untouchable and memorable.

Why isn't Vice City Stories in the poll? It had an incredible soundtrack too and certainly more worthy of inclusion over any of the top down games.

I choose San Andreas because I'm first and foremost, a hip-hop fan. Combine that with the awesome music from other genres that I normally don't listen to and I get a great variety to choose from, whether it be soul/funk (Master Sounds, Bounce) to new jack swing (CSR) or classic rock (K-DST).

Vice City. As cliched as it sounds, it's true.

Drunken Cowboy

TLaD and TBoGT have the same radio line-up.

But clearly has to go to Vice City. Not only the best picks, but the best genres. None of this electronic/gangsta rap bullsh*t.

Yes I picked V next gen over Vice City. VC was great but V next gen has so many 90s classics I grew up on. I just discovered a Portishead song. San Andreas still has yet to be beaten though. GTA never really had a bad soundtrack IMO.

Gta IV or TBOGT for me.

I also Liked Some Classics from Snoop and Ice Cube in SA.
