Antaxi
We compared the DirectX performance of a few mid-range graphics cards at 1920x1200 using the very high quality settings. Here we see that the GeForce GTX 560 Ti was able to deliver 11% more performance when going from DX11 to DX10 and another 8% jump when downgrading from DX10 to DX9. Overall we found a 20% increase in frame rates when going from DX11 to DX9. o7 take care. By that logic if DX9 does not utilize tesselation and is faster, it won? That is not a real comparison.. Dx9 and Dx10 also includes its own lighting and reflections in MP3 or this version of RAGE engine.Don't forget that GTA V is a 2013 game and not 2015 liek you said.Again,if it is a proper PC version it should scale from LG consoles to the maximum fidelity it can offer. Not only that Dx9/10 render will have better performance for older GPUs and for people who want to compensate the eye candy for framerate or the other bunch that just wants to run the game(trust me that will increase the sales, pirates will always pirate no matter what) but it will also be compatible with robust ENB settings that we have right now.All those GTA IV ENB's could be used in V if it has Dx9.Month or maybe even earlier after the release we could have "RL" ENB's for V. Imagine V with and it will definitely perform better than Dx11 one, especially because it'll be the first iteration and it needs some time to be optimized, probably months/years.If Boris decides to release it of course,I really hope so. I fail to understand why are you against it and how it will hurt the game from our perspective. The only argument you have so far is: "Just so they can make sure for every single system out there is is 100% unoptimized with all this stuff to take care of." and it's quite the opposite. You should know that,if you know what you're talking about. enb already dead Boris off the project
SteXmaN
Well, someone will make it.Until then the only way to fully utilize ENB is through Dx9 but hey, it's 2015 who uses ENB these days when we have next gen consoles. Guest
Yeah, I currently have a 7850, it was the best mid-end in 2012. I hope I can play GTA V at good framerate. MP3 played very fluently with high - very high settings. So I'm looking for medium settings at 60fps maybe... dont underestimate ur card... thats actually not that bad. im pretty sure it will run GTAV on High settings at 40-50 fps.. That's actually what I'm looking forward to, trying to get most out of my card without having to spend a lot of money in an upgrade. Maybe next year I'll get an upgrade cause they're pretty expensive over here.
CheesusChrist
Why should V support DirectX 9? You do realize DX9 is over 10 years old, right? If your card doesn't support at LEAST DX10, you're looking at a pre-2006 card, and boy, you should already upgrade your rig if it's built/made from 2006. DX11 cards starts to emerge at around 2010. Why should i don't know, but why would they is because the game already runs on DX9 on the Xbox 360.

Well, if the current gen version made for PS4 and Xbone never existed then the hypothetical GTA V PC port of the 360/PS3 version would definitely support DX9, but what we're getting is a port of the current gen version. Better argument are the build logs that mention DX9.

So they developed current gen version in errr 1 year.Nope,CG version is a port from the PC version that was in development alongside with LG version of the game. I still don't see how this game should support DX9, with the potential of limiting graphics.
PowerKracker
Fair enough, I was mistaken. Even then, I doubt they'd want to use DX9 with state-of-the-art graphics in mind. Edited December 14, 2014 by AlfredNTheFettuc
SteXmaN
If you put draw distance at zero and everything on low with Dx9 it should run on a potato ...oh wait ,it already did.Idk will they include Dx9,Dx10 maybe,2x HD 4870 should be able to run the game but there will be no (good)ENBs for quite some time after the launch.Something will come up eventually.
