Deathmatch is pretty flawed.

 

The biggest reason why DM sucks huge schlong: Losing Streak/Winning Streak (Or Kill Streak) filters.

The filters are annoying DEFO! maybe a little too saturated.

 

Do you guy's prefer to play on Morning, Noon or Nicht!?

I like a dreary looking DM at night, maybe even rain.

 

Wish there were more dynamic host options to fine tune it... Thunder n Lightning!

I like morning, raining, I usually have the brightness turned down because it makes the game look miles better.

dreary morning(no rain) or clear noon. Sometimes a nice sunset view or sunrise view.

Forced weapons either pistol sawn off shotty or any type of rifle doesn't matter. 10 minutes kills off

 

Preferably one that doesn't have alot of cover so it doesn't turn into black friday camping. 4 to 5 objects are plenty.

 

On the subject of Charlies jobs being rigged, i've played every deathmatch charlie has made, i'm even in a couple of his youtube vids and his jobs aren't rigged and you can't choose teams R* balances them out by rank or crew.

I don't like all Charlies maps, but they're 100% legit in my experience and always got my upvote. Not knowing where stuff is the first time you play a map is the same whoever made it. look at the map while you're sat in a lobby.

 

overall I have no prob with sensible use of heavy weapons* and auto-shotguns in AA. but they are scrub tools in FA. I find FA boring though so i only play AA now - the thing i don't like about HWs is how they f*ck with your aiming even if you're quite a distance from a blast. The game seems to assume that explosions literally rock the world so everyone has to fall around like its the bridge of the starship enterprise. but taking out people using HW isn't usually a problem unless they're particularly good with them - and if they're very good why should i begrudge them? but like i say, in FA, different story.

 

that's on good maps though - badly designed maps are just badly designed, and OP weapons by design, or un-catered for, is bad design. it's easier to describe with sniper rifles - it's pretty easy to design a good sniping position, but not everyone designs a means to take them out. RPG's need the same consideration, and more.

 

* by heavy weapons I don't include the mini-gun because that is always a pathetic admission of weakness. whatever mode, map or situation. it's like saying "I can't play the game, but if i use this i might stop you playing it too, and that's my idea of fun"

 

On the other end of the spectrum i really don't like pure run/roll 'n' gun maps, pistol or otherwise, where everyone's just plonked into a killzone. They're boring, but less subjectively, the games netcode/mechanics aren't up to it, some players always get a lag advantage. and don't get me started on melee...

 

But apart from the obvious cheat maps and exploit crap, what really grips my sh*t is people sitting on a lobby for 10+ minutes to fill it when the timers on 5min or the target score is on <20. Who in their right mind wants to spend more of their life waiting in lobbies than actually playing the game? I prefer no target score because I like to frame what i can achieve in given time rather than be limited by how well someone else plays. but as long as it's high enough, it's okay and sometimes can make for an interesting finale.

 

My ideal is '15-20min no target score' with people i know and maps a I can trust. '10 min no target score' with randoms and new maps.

 

and daytime - i'm getting old and i can't see so well at night :monocle:

I like remakes from other games, the Nuketown one looks good. If anyone here played Socom Fireteam Bravo 2, and we get the snow on GTA O, it would be awesome to see someone remake the Thin Ice map from multiplayer.

Favourite location, anywhere that hasn't already been used by R* or if it has the created has changed the spawn dynamics significantly and the layout wisely through intelligent prop placement.

Open medium sized map.

Decent amount of cover.

Not crowded/claustrophobic/in tight areas

Symmetry in maps (if possible)

No RPGs, Grenade Launchers.

10-15 mins or 40 kill limit

Max 12 players.
