I can't stand the auto shottie. If it's anywhere on the map or you (subjective) use it you (subjective) and your map suck to me. Same with the RPG, Minigun, Grenade launcher or excessive use of explosives.

Same amigo, funny how people think the sawn-off sucks! It's uber-powerful at close range, I shot this guy off a Daemon coming at me... he done a double back flip !!!

Even with my heavy weapons I stick to my rifles and will play down to a pistol if i want. I like using my assault smg too. I know its a bit of a scattershot but it works well if you are in a map that is fit for midrange weapons. Its small so its less to whip around cover too.

Assualt SMG - the most under rated, under used gun in the game!

This is why dm sucks so bad. Look at all these little girl pvssies afraid of guns. I want it to be fair, blah blah.

Forced and pickups is not fair, its unbalanced, it becomes a race to the best weapon spawn point s and whoever gets them first wins. Simple as that there is no skill or tactics its just a race. Once you have an ak and your opponent has a pistol that is not fair. That is the definition of unfair because its actually the oppositte of fair.

Owned n pickups is the only fair method. If youre under 100 and dont like rpgs youree a b!tch. If youre over 100 and are complainin about rockets youre still a b!tch.

I love how you guys think its fair to run to a weapon that is a better grade than the forced one you spawned with then repeatedly kill the opponent who still has the forced weapon.

You guys seriously need to get the fvck over yourselves who exactly are you kidding?

If you wanted to be fair after you picked up your weapon thats better than the forced you would then wait for your opponent to also pick up a bettter gun. Then you would commence the dm in fairness.

So just fvcking stop with in the name of fairness, you guys know where the better weapons are, you get there first then take advantage of your opponent.

Precisely why I dont play that garbage, everytime some @ssholes have assault rifles and mgs while I have a pistol and smg. Im not playing a dm to race to weapon spawns its childish.

True if you use any mg or smg thats not the combat mg which is still a excellent gun its probably considered underrated. Cause nobody cares about the Reg MG, but I still use it and i love the bullpup and pump shotguns as well

Deathmatch Junkie here. With a Deathmatch twitch channel.

Anyways here is what I prefer...

Time: No limit ----- as long as there is a Kill count target.

Weapons: Owned or Assault rifles

Maps: Anything in the woods. I love the maps that have vehicles, crates, containers, etc... in the woods. It gives you the city Deathmatch feel while being around the trees and boulders-- nature. And if you get to play in a rainy night map, that is the best.

Deathmatches i refuse to play....

Anything melee.

Anything that says 1,000,000 RP & 1,000,000 Cash.

Anything on an island in the middle of the ocean.

its all about learning where you are in a tdm or dm as far as what you can handle and what not. Forced pickups are screwed up because people do race to these spots and it defeats the purpose of forced weapons in my opinion i think it would be better if we were forced to use pistols then all the pickups should be just that......pistols other than that owned+pickups.

I like Melee deathmatches on suspended platforms really high in the sky.

There funny as hell and the long time it takes to fall to the ground gives me time to do stuff like sticking skins and putting the kettle on n'sh*t.

Everytime I walk in a new DM map I just hope it's not going to be another campers paradise

Yeah you get that a lot sometimes usually with people who are not yet confident in their shot yet

I will be the first to admit I make some dumb decision though. Sometimes i'm overconfident and i will run out and take like 3 or 4 guys down and continue to run because I feel like I can fly and touch the sky then I get laid out.

Perfect DM map criteria.

Clear fighting area, it doesn't need to be enclosed, but if there is a clear border rather than a huge expanse to play around in, I like it.

Mixed set of weapons, nothing over powered, but a mix of rifles, smg's, pistols, grenades, shotguns and one or two snipers which are strategically placed.

Good spawn locations, not in the open and not too far from pick - ups.

Good starting location, I like props to be used effectively and to compliment the theme and surrounding area, but also 'non creator' props that are used by the creator thoughtfully for cover.

Lastly, good health and body armour spawn locations, I want these to be in the open, so that campers can't hold up in an area, and are forced to move around map for them.

Time is dependent on number of players, if lobby is half full, eg 2 vs 2, then set a score limit, if full then just a time limit.

sh*t that puts me off, is any floating sh*tting, or melee only stuff. That's fun for about 10 seconds.

Even I'll admit the fairest option is Foced Only, But alas it's still a race to the ammo! I've made a few F&P maps that the pickups are actually weaker than the Forced weapon itself.

A good DM map would be action packed, easy to spot the opponents and a fair ground.

You can try this , this or this just to experience what i said :p

some people don't know this though. I was just in a deathmatch and this dude literally ran to the micro smg when it was pistol only match. I stuck with the pistol and still won, because the micro is not as accurate as the pistol in my opinion. If you don't burst fire it sometimes it because a scatter shooter and in my opinion isn't as good as your standard pistol. Too me the pistol is way better to use than the micro but thats me.

It's far more satisfying to kill with a single pistol headshot, than countless torso shots with an SMG.

The pistol headshots out gun many of the weapons. You just gotta know how to time em

Sorry, I have to agree with Charles_Lee_Raye:

It takes no skill to minigun or assault rifle an enemy using a pistol, especially since you only get a clip.

I don't do forced+pickups for this reason.

Also, I have rarely joined a forced+pickups map where the weapons are truly balanced. Everyone's running around with their SMG while the lucky guy to find the one rifle or minigun on the map is having all the fun.

That being said...

I'm more into adventure and excitement. I will even do crazy spawnkill maps like Conference Room War.

I prefer open maps where I am forced to face my opponent and develop the ability to take them out without cover.

My crew and the people we run with always do: 10 or 15 minutes, owned + pickups, location and all that other stuff is not an issue.

What aim preference does your crew normally play?

Yah bro I am a little butthurt obvs. I normally never do forced but a couple times my friends and crew convinced me to play forced because theyre low lvl. I agreed and then yes they knew where the better guns were. Rushed them and then camped them. Its lame. Getting mowed down by assault rifles and mgs while only having a pistol and micro smg is not fair.

And I learned my lesson I just dont do them anymore because yes I get whooped as you put it in this scenario then I get butthurt. Because as I said its not fair and doesnt reflect which player is better. If we both have aks thats fair. And I didnt level past 120 to race noobs to a better gun I already earned.

Thats whats fair imo, earning things that are better and more powerful than others who havent put the time in to earn them.

A veteran ex special ops mercenary would be more of an advesary than a 19 year old grunt private in the army right??? Having more skills and methods on top of having access to better tech/intel. Think Lester abils as they get better as u level.

That's what a leveling system with unlocks as you progress is supposed to simulate. A hierarchy amongst players. This is ruined by forced weapon choices, and dlc weapons with no minimum rank prereqs.

AA, of course! I can imagine what Conference Room War would be like in FA & owned+pickups! RPG hell!

I forgot to add earlier, McKeever's force+pickup maps are decent & generally well-balanced. I've been meaning to get around to other GTAF members' maps, but lately my bookmarks keep disappearing.

Right everyone calm doon, this ain't gonna turn into another owned-vs-forced-vs-F&P, AA vs FA thread? (or is it!) AA is good to play but the divide is obvious between good n not so good players, been the cause of it enough. That's when helmets came in(and ruined Pistol DMs) and that didnt help freeaim that much either!

So what about time limits? People really want me to join their random "RP hack + ££€€$$" muck for 20 mins?!

What's your favourite locations?!

As for The Charlie map featuring the MINIGUN, it's the best, most well thought out map I've seen with the minigun not hidden on it!. Got plenty of cover and tear gas to combat the MINI too. He's making you use the cover and the throwables! A combo of weapon choice's with props and location that create's a seprate style of DM. He's used this technique to the MAX in his Glock of the Bay map by limiting it just to Pistols, Molotovs, Tear Gas and a Knife, the option of F&P makes this stuff possibe...

Forgot to mention earlier, but it should always be set to Forced + Pickups, using your own inventory weapons just makes it an RPG and Auto Shotgun headache.
