What you look for in a DM?

Just interested to see what would make up a decent Deathmatch in you guys eyes.

Wanting to know your preferences... such as timer, lock weapon type, location, pickups, vehicles placed in them...

eg = My Ideal DM would be - 10mins max, Forced and Pickups, CQC, Combat Pistols, exterior at a location that not only looks nice but also has some nice natural cover and has few props only placed in places where they'll be of use!

No JETs or TANKs but I'm partial to using cars and vans as cover!

Hate it when people say you shouldn't place vehicles as cover in custom jobs, nothing to stop people driving away in R* maps.

So what about you guys?.....

anything with the words $10000000_1000000000RP is a no go :)

I prefer weapons forced with pickups, or just forced. Stops the minigun/explosive spamming.

10-15 minutes.

Creative locations with minimal use of props.

That's a must, but if you join a random job it's what your gonna get son!

Fairness.

Remember when you said Handcuff_Charlies jobs were rigged, could you please elaborate on this cause I've yet to see this! You sure you never got smoked and someone took all the near-by pickups? If you could just link the job in question and we can all take a look at the map on the RSC and if need be test it out and see for ourselves. And I'm sure a pro-creator like Charles would be happy to know how to fix them! Not like he chooses what team he's gonna start on!

-Small maps up to 12 players max is ideal for me.

-10 min - Depends on how many people there is but 10 minutes is ideal.

-Forced + pickups - for a better experience ;)

-Fair weapons and weapon placement depending on how big the map is and NO Minigun, RPG spawns in the middle of the map when everyone else has a f*cking combat pistol. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. You can have the best dm map in the world but if you do that kind of sh*t in it for me it's 0/10

-No Jets and Tanks.

-Location doesn't matter for me, as long as there is good cover and prop placement.

Same, same, same.... shame all the kids think we want 30mins of Owned in the FBI building cluttered with props!

There is actually some decent prop DMs out there, found them on this site thou, not ever through the in-game methods of joining random jobs and going on call! Nothing goods came of that!

Agree the smaller and more condense the map is the more kills you'll get without needing to go down alleys to find them, keeps you on yer toes. Anyone that knows me and my maps, knows that great things come in small packages! People worry about fitting in the most spawn points, but I'd rather have a map that runs well with just two players than a map that you spend longer on the host screen getting people in than actually playing!

I agree with ugotsmoked, i've played 2 jobs of Handcuff, and it doesn't matter what team he starts in because he knows where the minigun and rpg spawn is, and when he gets it while everyone is running around with only a combat pistol it's simply not fair, the only way It would be fair to have the minigun/RPG spawn was if it was in a very difficult and risky to get place, not like how he places it....

Tunnel of Treachery is the job in question, if you look at the map you can see that the minigun is placed right bang in the middle of the map, as much as it's a shock when you first see it and It think it's OP, it's probably the reason that maps his most popular!

Exactly. I was not gonna respond again but it's that plus more. He puts better weapons on his team, they are closer together. Same with the health and armor. More spawns and closer together. The fact that some people are clueless to this baffles me.

I'd sure have loved DMs WAY more if it weren't for that f*cking flawed-to-hell-and-back power player system. I'm sick and tired of getting paired with idiots and being forced to be power player for the entire match.

Handcuff's video of that map. Right at the beginning he gets the minigun lol. And don't tell me it's fair because it's in the middle, for who ever plays it for the first time is not aware of it, and even if they are if he gets it first and holds his ground, there's no way someone can get the minigun.

Edit: Because his team will keep on pushing forward into the opponents side and so the minigun spawn will always be in their side. Get it?

It's not hidden thou, and the majority of his maps don't feature odd-one-out heavy weapons, if he put it in a hard to get to area then it'd be rigged and hidden, this jobs obv been replayed the most due to kids gon "I'm gonna get it first this time!"

The idea for my maps when I think of placing a unique weapon spawn is to place it in a high ground area in the middle of the map that you can camp, but it's not completly safe because there are multiple ways to get up there. And I think of that weapon's spawn (in my case it's usually a grenade spawn) as a reward, an incentive to move, to try and get to the middle. Like a king of the hill type of thing.

Explain how you can choose teams, played 2000+ DMs never once seen a option to choose team sides, maybe I'm just dumb! Can anyone else say they've seen this option!

Is it possible to choose what team you start on, even as the host?! Maybe on PS4 but I'm sure someone would've told me!

I'm not sure if you are aware of this but the creator will always start in the team 1 spawn points, this will only change when after the deathmatch finishes and everyone pressed replay, only then the teams switches positions.

All he does is blindfire. Pathetic.

And the rest, tired of this "your way of playing is wrong do it my way, don't roll, don't blindfire, don't use cover" I added this guy who had the most headshots in the world on the leaderboards of RDR, he had the same complex, he was a prick and got deleted. There's a fine balance between being a pro and not being a dick!

So is there a way to choose the team you start on before a DM, or is that something ugotsmoked's just made up for sake of trying to win an arguement... don't worry I do that sh*t too!

The host starts on team 1. Team 1 has combat mgs, snipers and rpgs. Team 1 has 7 health spawns. Team 2 has ak 47s and pistols and 2 health spawns.

It's cheating at it's lowest form.
