The very few things he got right, which would be the red sky and the Christmas tree (And may I remind he said the latter would only be included in a brand new high-end apartment) could as hell just be lucky guesses, especially in comparison to everything else. You seem about as desperate to de-legitimize this person, as folks are to legitimize him. We get it, you're skeptical. You're all over this thread with your skepticism...and even those that think he's legitimate are skeptical. There are only a few true believers...but I doubt there is anyone that thinks this dude is a modding god to be worshiped.

This. I've been saying this for a while now. He couldn't have guessed any of the things that turned out to be right. Including the improved snow (which I also thought was a lie, considering it makes no sense for R* to invest so much time in something they only do once a year).

I was flying with my friends last night and we noticed the sky was a reddish color

Hey, no need to be so hostile. Like I've said numerous times before, I want to believe there is a new legitimate leaker in town as much as anyone else. I'm not "desperate to de-legitimize him", much for the contrary, when he gets something right I have no problem in admitting it and I'd like to someday get conclusive evidence that he is correct. But the amount of things he got wrong far surpasses the very few things he got right. Therefore, when someone expresses an argument or an alleged evidence I consider invalid, I don't think I should restrain myself from presenting a counter-argument against. Isn't that what a forum is for, after all? For debating and exchanging ideas?

I still believe the Christmas tree may as well be deduced, especially taking into account his description is completely different from what we got. He said it would be exclusive to a new apartment, that it would only be available in PS4/Xbox One and that it would come with a variety of other Christmas decorations. What we got is a Christmas tree in all apartments, in both last and current gen, and without any other kind of Xmas decorations included.

About the red sky, it's definitely an interesting evidence, probably the most substantial one until now. But then again, I don't think that is something impossible to guess, and neither am I excluding the possibility of said effect also being present last year and simply being ignored by most players, like it would probably be ignored now if it wasn't for Nillix. Furthermore, it's one thing he got right against all the other things he got wrong or only "slightly right" (Like the Christmas tree).

 

Sorry if my posts are bothering, it's definitely not my intention.

 

EDIT: And by the way, I was now flying around in my Besra in PS3 and I just saw the red sky effect, near mount Chilliad. Wasn't it supposed to be a current gen exclusive, according to Nillix?

Sorry, but that's frankly how I feel about it, and I don't seem to be alone in this either.

 

About the pic, unfortunately I couldn't. As weird as this might sound, the effect didn't appear in Snapmatic, when I pointed to it the glow would just disappear. It might be because I was flying, I'll try taking one from the top of the Chilliad, but I'm sure other people here can confirm my sighting.

He said we would get another brand new apartment. He just missed interpreted the code. We ended up getting a 3rd property ownership.

 

He said we would get Christmas trees in high end apartments. They ended up being in all apartments. He just misinterpreted the code.

 

And then there is the red sky.

 

He is not god or R*, he can't specifically guess exactly what the updates are. He found code, and put together info from the pieces he found. He didn't lie about anything, just misinterpreted the information.

 

That's my take on it anyways.

I totally agree with that. He obviously saw something and then jumped to massive conclusions and stated his opinions as facts. There was also some utter bullsh*t thrown in, like the reference about decrypting hashed data. If he'd have done what Funwm2 does it would have been cool, and he wouldn't have wound up looking like a needy twat.

THIS. Had he been upfront about the speculative nature of his findings, or even presented them as predictions, instead of declaring things as facts, this thread wouldn't be at 70+ pages. Then again, he's not the only person at fault. If some people hadn't been so inexplicably eager to swallow every single drop of unproven, baseless information that he typed (and tar and feather anyone that didn't do the same) without stopping to ponder the fact that he didn't have any sort of crystal ball or an office at R* headquarters, this thread would have fizzled out 20 pages ago.

I think mainly it's because there's now this war between people who Want To Believe (cue X-Files music), and people who think every leaker and YouTuber out there is inherently full of crap. Both sides have an axe to grind and want to warp facts to fit their agenda. I think it's at least a little important to establish the middle ground, which is: some of these people are legit and some, perhaps many, are not. But you don't need to take it all as bullsh*t just to show how cool/cynical/smart you are. Very many of them, and I think this includes NillxModz most likely, are just excited young men who want cool stuff to be added to the game, like we do, and they overextend themselves interpreting a very small amount of real information. Which would make him kind of a fool, but not a monster to be run out of town with pitchforks and torches.

Thing is, at the end of the day, unless said leaker works for R* and has a clear understanding of the code he's looking at, it's all speculation. That's why leakers can't be "legit"; they can't know anything for sure. On top of that, specific dates should probably never come into the equation; I've never seen coding that revealed actual dates. They're legit "informed speculators" at best.

Oh gawd, just checked Nillx tweets, attention whore of note trying to salvage what's left of his leaks community. His forum has been DDOS'ed (apparently).

 

Now let's all take more photos at certain angles and try and prove he was right all along. Now there is this niche group that wants to keep him on this 'pedestal' because after months of waiting for word from R*, someone came out with some pretty good 'leaks' and intrigues the community's interests. At the end of the day, players blame R* for not delivering on what was never even there in the first place.

 

Skimming through the last 10 pages of this thread was a joke on what has all been said. Seriously, I expected more from the GTAF community.
