menny
I was thinking of buying a new TV anyway but I want to ask if it does make some difference in term of in game resolution. I have a plasma TV that runs at a maximum of 1080i. Does a fullHD improve the game experience furthermore ? Thanks! Vertighost
I've been doing some research into this myself and am going to upgrade my 768p 32 Inch LCD, to a 1080p 40 inch LCD... From what I've read 1080i is worse then 720p because it is interlaced, at the moment I have my TV set to 1080p but it is being downscaled to 768p (most TV'S that aren't full HD 1080p are 768p but can accept and downscale 1080p). I've read, for a screen size of 32 inch 720p or is fine, but if you sit pretty close to the TV you will notice the difference...1080p is a lot better and will utilise what the PS4 has to offer, just remember to properly calibrate your image, brightness, contrast, colour etc. As for Plasma vs LCD, OR LED LCD. I have not read that much, so best to Google.
championpuffa
simple answer yes it makes a very very big difference or can do at least. i have a 40" samsung 6 series tv about 5-6 years old now. it was mid-top range when i bought it an is still an awesome picture. my mrs bought a new sony last year the mid-top range W9 46" version. the picture difference is amazing an i was blown away at how much crisper an an overall nicer the picture was everything was improved considerably from colour to crispness/sharpness. an this was jus gaming on last gen 360 an ps3. i have not had the chance to test out my ps4 on my mrs tv yet she wont let me bring it back to my place again. it really is bugging me playing on my older tv now tho. if you buy a new tv for gods sack do not waste your money on the cheapest tv/bargain you can buy. invest something to get something half decent i wouldnt spend too much tho tbh because OLED tvs are jus hitting the market an in a couple years will drop in price considerably. i really want to buy a new sony tv. me an my mrs were going to get a new samsung but sony has a much better picture quality. i had both sets side by side an the colours on the sony were much better so i told her to buy the sony instead. it could depict different shades better than the samsung which has trouble showing more than 3 shades of the same colour on the screen at any one time. this was the last years models i was comparing tho, also samsung always did have trouble with its colour. both my tv's run at a native 1080p but also support the other 720p/1080 Edited December 11, 2014 by championpuffa
Crystal3lf
I have dual 32" Samsung LED TV's for my computer. While they're great really quality I also regret not getting real monitors. At the time I got them, 32" monitors we're upwards of $3,000 each. Sometime next year I'll be upgrading to 1440p because I'll have my SLI GTX-970's by then to be able to handle it. TL;DR TV's are fine if you're going to use for console gaming, but I'd recommend 1920x1080 monitors if you want better quality. DaRkL3AD3R
If you aren't playing this game on a 1080p native TV, and you have the next gen version, you are missing out horribly. TV makes a big difference. And definitely stick with plasma. They may be a bit more costly but they have the least amount of motion blur of any flat screen on the market. My 42" regular LCD 1080p screen has horrible ghosting in all games. And it's worse at 30 fps like most games are.
menny
Thanks guys for the answers! I think I'll make the jump! Do you think 100hz is enough or do I have to look for something over 200hz? Any advise for some TVs? I would want a 42" but I can consider a 40" one. SCOOBASTEEB
I think so, though if you arent sure, turn your brightness down in game and enjoy that. Looks miles better when you actually struggle to see in the dark

Yeah this game is meant to be played at 1080p native, but plasma's are pretty much being taken off the market and as far as I know pretty much all plasma's have pretty bad input lag compared to some of Sony's top tier LCD/LED TV anyway. Thanks guys for the answers! I think I'll make the jump! Do you think 100hz is enough or do I have to look for something over 200hz? Any advise for some TVs? I would want a 42" but I can consider a 40" one. Look it up that hz thing is a scam, pretty much all video games are 30FPS or 60FPS so anything beyond 60hz isn't needed anymore. The TV I have can go into like 120hz or something with motionblur plus but it adds input lag to games and makes the image dimmer, so it isn't ever used.
