MonsterCockDude
Anyone else seem to notice that if you slightly touch the trigger for the gas pedal and go at a slow speed cruising, that the game seems to spawn loads of cars around you and more cars around the street? Maybe it was just time of day or something, but I was driving up that road near the binco or clothing store at Vespucci near Little Seoul up to Morningwood going past the movie studio at a really slow speed obeying traffic laws, and my car was entirely surrounded by traffic with about 5 cars in each lane ( 3 lanes on that side of the road ) in front waiting at a traffic light and some cars behind me as well, along with a strong amount of oncoming traffic on the other side of the road on the other side, and a line of cars parked along the side of the street as well. This was big time for immersion as this actually made the world feel alive and like your a part of it in the game. Also I typically drive at pretty reasonable speeds and try to obey traffic laws and cruise around somewhat normally the majority of the time, but this time I was driving a little bit slower instead of doing say 60 to 80 mph it was more like 20 to 40 mph or so. Could it be that driving slow gives the game more time to spawn traffic, and that you also aren't quickly driving through it so this loads up the traffic in the game at a high level? DaRkL3AD3R
Yep. Moreover if you stay in an area longer traffic is able to really pile up. The spawning system is rather slow so if you're flying through an area the game won't be able to keep up and create enough vehicles. I used to have my doubts about traffic density and the solution is stand near an intersection in downtown LS at any time of day and watch it get completely mobbed in minutes. grandola
Yup! I noticed this first when driving in first person because I was just driving around cruising at low speed. I like it

Yeah I remember when the streams were out I was in full force showing that the streets were empty and majorly disappointed but this was probably because the people playing the streams were driving 100 mph and around traffic and on sidewalks and all of that and probably not giving the game much time to spawn traffic. Still though areas like Portola Drive and the major city areas should be scripted to have tons of traffic going through it by the time you arrive. DaRkL3AD3R
Agreed some areas definitely need faster spawn speed.
MonsterCockDude
Agreed some areas definitely need faster spawn speed. Yeah major city streets should be similar to how the freeway or highways are in terms of packed with traffic before you get to that block. Either way though this system by R* actually is pretty smart since they can please both styles of players fast paced just wants to drive from point A to point B as fast as possible guys can drive quickly through before traffic spawns and guys who want to cruise, enjoy the scenery, role play, or like to play at a more realistic pace or follow traffic laws can actually have more traffic and a more a live feeling world going on. Hopefully the PC version will let you boost up the traffic density to like triple what we get on the PS4 though, then that would make the city actually feel pretty big. PhillBellic
The game would have an easier time spawning vehicles if you drove at a slower pace.
œaœa
This is also the case with peds. If you stay in an area long enough, eventually many peds will spawn.
CarnageRacing00
I wasn't super impressed with traffic density at first. I knew it was better than on PS3, but not by much. Then one day I crashed on the highway, and as I was turning around, I saw countless cars at a stand still behind me. I don't even know how many, but it was way, way more that I've ever seen in one spot in a GTA game before. And they were varied!!! It wasn't just 2 or 3 types of cars, there were at least 7 or more different models.
Mr Tomato
I like to obey traffic lights and certain other rules and only overtake where I can do so cleanly, sometimes I fully obey traffic laws, but I'll always giver some where I would probably feel comfortable doing so in real life, makes that little squirt or that strap down the highway feel much much funner, try it with slidey cars on it's quite fun as the acceleration actually feels fast. Sitting at intersections in peak times waiting for the light and watching traffic from fpv is truly amazing, no other game has come close.

These are the things that the GTA Online ADHD generation nothingness would never truly be able to enjoy or understand. That's the sort of thing that shows why exactly this series dominates every other game in the genre. The attention to detail and the worlds and activity going on in them that R* creates is amazing, it's just that some of the questionable choices in terms of gameplay and story in this one kind of ruins it.
