I was a Junk
so with our area expected to have some really bad winds tonight out of curiosity what is the storm/weather or whatever that you have experienced? I'm not to notable. Probably the worst was this storm in our area where winds gusted up to 100 mph.
gtamann123
Basically everyday I lived in MN except for like 6 days. Novemeber-May was too cold and snowy. June-October was a good temperature but too rainy. Atleast in Arizona we have 6 months of heat and a little but of rain but nothing horrible and then 6 months of literally perfect weather. Today was December 19th and was like 78 degrees. Edited December 11, 2014 by gtamann123

AceThaCreator
For you guys that lived on the east coast remember the snowstorm of 2010 was probably the worst weather that i dealt with. I remember looking outside and going HOLY SH*T we got 20 something inches of snow & you could not walk properly in that sh*t. Everything was closed for a few days & it was nice having off from college & work at the te but it wasn't fun having to shovel that sh*t hahaha. Straypuft
I think there was a snow storm in 1996 that I remember, we had limited power(brownout) for about 2 whole days. Later that year, I was riding in an organized 2 day bicycle ride, the first day was nothing but severe weather for the whole one way route, I have seen my first funnel clouds on this day, The guys in charge of the ride had to cancel the second day due to more severe weather heading our way, the reason why the whole ride wasnt canceled was because the weather just popped up out of nowhere and it was extreme for our region, so 75 mile bike ride one way, free bus ride home the second day, My mother and I who were riding were planning on tent camping overnight on a school football field, but were forced to stay in the school gym with hundreds of other riders. A few years ago, I was out on a small boat with a friend, there was some chop on the lake as we were making our way to an island 5 miles off shore, I saw my first waterspout while on those waters that ride. Shaundi.
Thunderstorm of 2010. March I think. I was with friends in the city and the rain was something we've never seen before. Example vid and pic in spoilers below. That day was really cool. Heatwave of 2009. 45°C February 9 2009, highest temperature I've lived through. Sometime around March 2013, 10 day heatwave. Knowing Melbourne, above 39°C Within a few weeks, it's about to get very bad, especially early January. I like hot weather, but not this extreme. GG14876
Hurricane Sandy... My town got a solid 4+ft flood and a neighboring town was all but wiped off the map. No power for over a week (luckily I had a few thick comforters to help deal with the cold) and we had national guard checkpoints on all entrances into town for about 1~2 months. Snow might be bad, but trying to clear sand is even worse... Dingdongs

IveGotNoValues
It rained here last week...what a tragedy that was. I was soaked from head to toe. ha I guess that's about as bad as it gets here in LA and before anyone gets on my case about how easy I have it compared to them and how a little rain is nothing, I was just being sarcastic, so calm down Edited December 11, 2014 by IveGotNoValues darthYENIK
Crazyeighties
I love the rain, but a few years ago I did a charity motorcycle ride. Right as we all started our engines it started to pour. Riding at 45 in the pouring rain is never recommended being 125 pounds soaking wet did not help it sure did not make the hyperthermia any better it took me a half hour in a warm shower then another hour wrapped up in warm blankets from the dryer IveGotNoValues

Snow might be bad, but trying to clear sand is even worse... Same, had no power for 14 days. When the storm began I was driving and got caught between two different fallen trees on a small road with no one around. Basically said f*ck it and drove over one of the trees and ripped the front air dam off my car but was a 40 dollar replacement... very rough hurricane. My grandmother was suffering from cancer at the time and needed oxygen and the place that had her oxygen was entirely underwater after the storm so we had to drive and get it from some fly by night place in Maryland (we were on Long Island NY). Ahh, good ol' Tornado Alley, where cold air coming from Canada mixes with hot air coming from the Gulf of Mexico, creating tornadoes. You probably already know this, but oh well. t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m
Johan
Don't remember many, last one I went through was Hurricane Sandy which had strong winds over in New York and it actually brought down the power in my room (rest of the house was fine) for an hour or two... heard glass shattering and stuff falling off of windows outside, flooded the subways, trees halfway broken in almost every block. To top that off if I remembered correctly, school was canceled for 2 weeks.
Algonquin Assassin
June 2007 when the Hunter Valley or more specifically Newcastle was rocked by storms and severe flooding. It was so bad a cargo ship called the Pasha Bulker beached on Nobbys Besch. It was there for about a week I think before it was eventually cut up. Recently as PhilBellic described Eastern NSW has been getting hit with some crazy weather. Just storms day in and day out. It's been like that for a couple of weeks now. dice
Last year around this time we had problems with sleet followed by heavy snow, which damaged a pretty large percentage of the countrys electrical infrastructure. My area was without power for 4 days. Driving around was a hellish experience, for the first week people had chainsaws in trunks because broken down trees on roads were a regular occurrence. Local voluntary fire crews organised day and night shifts through the whole month just to clear the roads, because the government couldn't handle the mess Edited December 11, 2014 by dice

Ai®a©ob®a
When i was about 9 or 10 we had a tornado came in the middle of the night and we had almost no warning as it developed so quick and we had no tornado sirens in our area yet the whole neighborhood was wiped out 4 people were killed and many others hurt and few years ago after Super Storm Sandy off the east coast we were hit with the aftermath and lost power and it stayed off for close to a week and than last year we had a horrible winter with almost two weeks with below freezing in the double digits.
