Furry_Monkey
I've been doing some messing around with uploads to YouTube of both PS3 and PS4 video. I have an Elgato Game Capture HD (not the HD60) and the recorded video is raw so looks exactly the same on my PC as it does on my TV, for both consoles and different resolutions (GTAV on PS3 being 720p and on PS4 1080p). However, when I upload to YouTube they always look far too compressed and just damn unpleasant. If all YouTube videos looked like that then I'd shrug it off, but I've seen some footage that looks really nice - almost as good as the real thing on my TV. I've tried optimising videos myself before uploading them, using Sony Vegas Pro, but it makes no difference to the quality level. It looked vaguely different, but was neither better or worse. Googling just brings up a ton of useless information, people arguing about video formats, and a YouTube page showing the optimal video render settings to use. None of these have made any difference. Does anyone have any advice on how to get YouTube videos looking better?
Shmoopy
You should wait atleast 2 hours (depends on your video's size) for it to be processed by youtube in order for it to be available in 1080p

It also didn't take anywhere near that long, but that's by the by.
TonyResta
These are the recommended codec requirements from Youtube: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en I personally export in .h264 from Adobe Premiere CS6, and using the Youtube presets given by default, maybe slightly editing the bitrate. Finn 7 five 11
Find a big YouTuber with good quality videos like "Xjawz" and copy his render settings man. I'd search it for you but it's a pain in the ass when your laptop doesn't work. Furry_Monkey
