Grand Touring Car Appreciation

Hello all. This is another fun thread to post your favorite touring car pictures. If you aren't sure what make a car a touring car, I'll break it down.

 

A tourer is a long wheel base, heavy, front engined, rear drive vehicle, with two doors. It should have good looks and lots of power. Examples would be a Mascarro, Alpha, Gauntlet, Monroe, Carbonizzare, F620, etc. not all touring cars are in one class.

 

Show them parked by the roads you like to cruise for bonus points.

Not sure if it counts (as the engine is in the back) but I still love cruising around in my Stinger GT, especially the Great Ocean Highway.

The above is not my car but I currently have a blue Carbonnizzare and as soon as I get home I'm going to make it look similar. I'll be posting multiple pictures of it here soon.

 

Grand tourers are my favorite genre of cars. They're the perfect blend of luxury and performance and I think they look the most elegant. I don't care for racing at all. All I care about is cruising, whether it be following all road rules or high speed cruising on the freeway which I do the most, and so unlike many in this section, I see a car for what it is and not for how good of a racer it is. Performance is just a plus. My favorite grand tourers:

• Massacro
• Carbonizzare
• Felon GT
• Coquette
• Alpha
• Furore GT

I really wish there were more:

• S Class Coupe
• 991 Carrera S
• Vanquish Volante (Basically want a Massacro convertible)
• RS5

I loved the badass look but elegance wins me over. If only I could have 2 garages. (All of my stuff is in single player, my only grand tourer in Online is my orange Massacro which I have no pictures of).

Agreed and the Gauntlet, or any American muscle car, is the furthest thing you can get from a grand tourer.

 

Grand tourers are typically coupes (you could count four door coupes such as the BMW Gran Coupes) and their focus is blending luxury, style, and performance. They're all about long spirited journeys and as a result, some of them have four seats (though most of the time they're cramped), most have large trunks, most are automatics, and most of all they're comfortable. Besides comfort, they're main focus is to make you look good. They're really stylish and typically quite large (or at least made to look big, for example the Ferrari F12 by itself looks big in a picture but when you go to see it, it's very low to the ground and short compared to whatever is next to it). Most of them are front engined too and have long noses. Not all of them are focused on performance but they're definitely not slow and are typically orgasmic to listen to. The Comet does classify as a grand tourer, even though it's rear engined and looks more sporty than luxurious. At times it just isn't stylish enough for me though, I wish Rockstar would update the Comet to make it look like a 991 (which is much longer, wider, and more stylish).

 

The Gauntlet and most supers don't fit in this category at all, they're way too stiff, cheap (well the muscles are), and are barely luxury based. Some people mistake the Coquette for a muscle car but it's a grand tourer/sports. It's definitely stylish and luxurious enough to be one and in theory it's a lot more comfortable because the C7 Stingray is.

 

The Feltzer used to fit in this category but unfortunately Rockstar ruined it and made it look like a ricer.

I think it's the stupidest car in the game and the stupidest change. Why would you take a German convertible and make it a ricer? They didn't even do it correctly. They should've made it look like the SL65 Black Series... or they could've just did what they did but kept the old Feltzer too. Not everybody likes ugly POS souped up racers.

Really wish the F620 had more power, i'd probably drive it more if it did. Can't deny the looks though.

That would be the case if it wasn't very common on the streets being driven by hispanic douchebags blasting El Sonidito.

 

And I mean actual NPCs. This is the most irritating f*cking car change ever. I hate everything about the new Feltzer, I am glad it has low insurance cost because I like blowing this ugly f*cking POS out of the streets erryday.

Thanks. As I am a very picky person, I took it back to the shop and made it Mariner Blue + Diamond Blue. It looks soooo much better! It looks like the real Azzurro Blu. Pics soon.
