DavidDuke
Hello, I was just wondering how I can get more people to play my races. I have a few races that I really like, and people I have played with really enjoy, but we can't seem to make the races a big hit. I was wondering if anyone knew any hints or tips on how to make it popular. Now you're all probably thinking: "What's this brand new guy to the forums thinking? He's just some nobody" Well, that's right, I am a nobody where GTA is concerned. But I was just needing a few opinions. Attached is a link to my race, and I hope that everyone here checks it out, and let me know what you think. It is very unique... http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/eIgd3Cqg4E2vxfVfQ7ztaQ The race is called Stadium Roof Circuit. If any of you have been up there in a car in GTA 5, you would have realized it is shaped exactly like a NASCAR track. So what I did was make it into a race and it actually turned out to be pretty awesome when you have 8 or so cars running around. Another track is : http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/bKGUTNsDNUmBa-a2UHapKQ This race is called Demolition Derby. It is another unique track, since I personally haven't seen a demolition derby track yet. It the first demolition derby track I've made, so there are some hiccups, but it is also quite awesome. So please, If any of you have time to check these out, please do, and let me know what you think. Thank you so much, ~Muss429
Killbook
If you're on xbox 360 Keep finding new session a few times Get a full session after a full times Host your job Open the XBOX menu To to messages Click create new message Click Send game invite Click a gamertag Don't send the invite but click change gamertags Check all of your recent players. They'll be below your last friend on your friend list. Send game invite Go to matchmaking settings, make sure the lobby is open. Click auto-invite and play Go through all the settings and click "invite all" option in each one Keep doing that until you get a full lobby of people. Buggy2825
Easiest way, find a creator crew or a R* featured crew, or a racing crew and show the track to them. If it's successful with them it may get more plays and likes. Other than that, hit the pavement yourself host your job inviting the lobby, skilled matched players, and such. Most people have very particular taste and won't join races anyways. As you probably realized, jobs like jumps jumps jumps ( super old, I know ) are what get the plays. But there are certainly crews or groups of people who fancy races that have actual race merit, you just gotta broadcast your own jobs. Typically in the content creator section. Just keep in mind, there is a vast pool of underaged children who mom had to buy the game for and all they want is fast cars (vvvrrroooomm vvvrrroooomm Adder) and lots of air ( yay super awesome mega ramp to the sky) So you just gotta find the right crowd
DavidDuke
@Killbook I am on ps3, but I am pretty sure there is a similar "recently played with" option in the ps3 menu. I never thought of that before and I will try that out! @Buggy2825 Thanks for the advice, and I'm not really sure how to find racing crews, unless I search lobbies until i find one hanging out? But yes, you are totally right about the crowd that I am trying to please (how they all want jumps and crazy stuff), and that is why I decided to make a demolition derby track (Everyone loves smashing cars together, right?). One would think that's the case. And I only found a couple good groups. Just seek out threads in the find groups and meetups tabs, and also check the crew recruitment page. Fat fingered quoting your post and it screwed it up. But think you realize I'm responding to you lol Edited December 10, 2014 by Buggy2825

DirtyWorka
I've asked the same thing. I just assume everyone too scared to accept the race or deathmatch and don't have the balls or ovaries for you ladies out there. I wish people would join because I've spent hours building each race and deathmatch and to have no one join is discouraging!

It's more because of the tool who realized dipsh*ts might join jobs labeled "$1000000000 RP GLiTCH money money money" and in creating those death trap death matches, the pool of players willing to risk it dropped. Then you have some people who can give no f*cks about a UCJ (user created job) and don't even consider accepting invites. Me, I'll join em, check the map and race settings then make a decision as to whether or not it's worth it.

I can play a deathmatch or a race no problem, but if it isn't Rockstar created or a verified match, I get second thoughts. I don't really prefer joining unverified matches. Too much bullsh*t to deal with from my experience, especially in deathmatches. My intention isn't to sound snobby, I apologize if that's the impression you formed, but most people don't feel like joining a half-assed deathmatch or race only to quit back to the slow-ass loading screen because the match they joined was made by somebody who was blindfolded and overindulgent from several nights at the bar. I'm not saying everyone makes bad matches, but I wish there was a quick way to get a small illustrated preview of the match. I like joining jobs with good descriptions. 'Lets a random like me know what to expect, ya‘ know? Edited December 10, 2014 by SevDoggX

But let's be honest, almost no one will read it, and chances are the creator didn't take the time to type something worth reading. For example - a race named "The Circuit" might have a description saying "a race for cars through checkpoints" And that would be a long description considering the ones I've seen out there. It's better than just leaving it blank like a lot of race invites I get. Personally I enjoy reading the descriptions. You notice that all verified races have at least some form of comic writing, or at the very least a simple, possibly informative comprehendable description? 'Leave the description blank, and to me that means the race itself isn't very interesting either. That might seem like a dumb assumption to make, but a description, like an introduction in a novel, draws the reader (or the player) in. I feel if there is at least some effort put into a description, be it about what we should expect on the course or whatever the Creator decided to have for dinner last night, I like to think they made some geniune effort to create the race. That kinda' entices my interest and would make me want to play it. I doubt most people don't read them. Edited December 11, 2014 by SevDoggX
Dottie
1. Make the race 2. Label it something relating to super cars, jumps, anti gravity, $10000000, 1000000 RP, or any combination of that 3. ??? 4. Profit
DavidDuke
I completely agree. I don't like joining jobs or races that are just stuck together that don't even make sense, like one checkpoint is right infant of you, and another is like three blocks away around two corners and has a wall in front of it. I try to put time into my descriptions, and try to describe what is in the race, for example saying: "There are many tight corners with smooth long straights spread throughout" or something like that. I don't like the really bad descriptions, like one user made race I did earlier where the description was "the first one to finish wins". I was thinking "well duh.. isn't that the point of a race?" KAWASAKI KX 500
make your demolition derby like a deathmatch so people don't need to go through checpoints, like this http://rsg.ms/cc4e14d

Beez
All good points here. Give the race a witty or mature title. Give it a well thought out description. Pound the pavement to find like-minded players. You also might want to creatively put your races into your signature with links to them on Social Club. I saw a demolition derby in another person's sig today which had a picture and link. Looked interesting so I bookmarked it and will try it out later tonight.
