Has anyone here actually bought a Shark card? If so, how much?

I have bought several shark cards over the past year as required mostly to buy expensive Pegasus

vehicles that I don't want to grind for. I have bought the 8 million card at least three times over

the year.

That said this is one of the few games I haven't had to pay for new content on, not mentioning

any games (Hatsune Miku Song Club DLC expensive extra)....

To be honest, i'll regularly lose £20 on a fruit machine on a friday night so paying for some extra fun in GTA is a reasonable spend in comparison

Shark cards are for fags.

I'd rather this than:

High Life Suit pack - 2.99

Zentorno - 0.99

Massacro - 0.99

LTS light pack - 1.99

LTS heavy pack - 1.99

And so on.

Yeah, like the microtransactions for TLoU:Remastered...

Automatic Rifle Executions | $0.99

Ballistic Helmet | $0.99

Bow Executions |$0.99

Broken Gas Mask |$0.99

Burst Pistol |$0.99

Combat Formation Taunt |$0.99

Crossbow | $0.99

Dust Myself Off Taunt | $1.99

Evil Laugh Taunt | $0.99

Frontier Rifle | $0.99

Game Over Taunt | $0.99

Gesture 2 Bundle | $2.49

Gesture 3 Bundle | $2.49

Ground Shiv Executions | $0.99

I'm Watching You Taunt | $1.99

Intimidation Taunt | $0.99

Tactical Shotgun | $0.99

Tactival Weapons Bundle | $2.99

Urban Camo Helmet | $0.99

You're Done Taunt | $0.99

Classic ND. You know that that's also their method of selling DLC skins in Uncharted 3?

0.99 Harry Flynn

0.99 Harry Flynn's bandana

Etc.

Best part?

Nathan Drake (the one you unlock for JUST 10,000, the amount of money you make for LOSING A MATCH) - 0.99

I mean, holy sh*t, cash grab anyone?

f*cking hell. People who think this type of microtransactions is better... You have no idea how much BS it sounds to us.

Trust me, all we need is 0.99 cash cards. Not this f*cked up paid DLC content prices.

EDIT: The best part about Naughty Dog's community is that they call each other "sheeple" and "cash cow fodder" when they also fall for it, big time.

It's always easier to insult people for doing what you do than living by what you condemn others for doing.

I tried TLoU's multiplayer and was kind of annoyed when I'd discovered how much of it was 'Want this hat? Gimme money bro.' I mean, I know gaming is a business and all, but I'm not paying cash for something as miniscule as a helmet or a mask.

That said, I've bought the 20 dollar Shark Card back in June. Other than that, I don't frequently buy them if at all.

They took microtransactions literally. Went full, I don't know, Rovio/Zynga on the players.

At least Rockstar isn't P2P. I don't know if TLoU does this, but Hats in Uncharted 3 have stats on them. You literally buy to be a little better in the game.

Man, gotta love non-cash microtransactions.

Back in the valentines special when the Roosevelt just came out I brought a $20 cash card I believe, I was dead broke and couldn't be f*cked grinding missions to save up for it, plus I work so $20 is nothing

Not to my knowledge. From what I could tell those items were purely cosmetic for the most part.

For friends yes for myself no. There is really no need to a few missions a day over a week or two can buy you almost anything you like.

I've bought several early on allowing me to basically get two super cars (one for variety and quick backup if the other gets destroyed) an apartment, Buzzard, plane, and boat. All very useful items when you need them.

Starting GTAO one year after everyone else has been grinding, adding weapons, and building rank makes Shark cards very useful, and helps balance things out, IMO. Granted, many key aspects to the game come with rank/unlocks, but still...

I spent well over $150 for BF3, and got more than my money's worth via nearly a thousand hours of entertainment over several years; I fully expect GTAO to do the same, if not more. With what the Shark cards enabled me to get early on, I'm making enough now that I don't see the need for more.

1.5 million in two weeks (e.g. enough to buy a Buzzard)? Wish I had your skills and success with missions...

I got one at valentines day, as I had a bit in my MS account and I wanted the Roosevelt, other than that the other stuff I waited until I had enough to buy it.

If there was another limited time item I wanted I would buy another. I have no issue with them, I wouldn't like to pay real money for say each gun, car etc.

Never bought a shark card but I did buy 4 copies of the game. When PC comes out it'll be 5.

I've got 4 copies too

1 for Me

1 to replace the one I scratched the disk when 360 got moved with disk in (2nd hand)

1 for my other half and a 360 to go with it....

1 for me on the PS4 (with the console, managed to knock 12% off the store price as they had it listed lower on the web)

To be fair, R* should also provide PC users with the ability of buying PC Shark cards, since every existing platform can currently buy them (and why not? it means more sales for them). I've filed a support request on this (and a way to discern how much GTA money is earned vs. bought, since Shark card cash won't transfer to a different platform from the one it was purchased on, unless it's in the same "family" Xbox -> Xbox, PS -> PS).

I've been told by a R* support person they've elevated this to a higher priority. Time will tell...

Why? This existing restriction is completely absurd, considering once you buy a card, everyone (i.e. M$, Sony, or R*) already has your *real* money anyway, and you can only transfer your character once. Sony shouldn't mind the fact that I bought a PS3 and copy of GTA5 just to build my character before I switch to PC. I could have just waited and not bought any of it.

If R* truly tracks where cash comes from (which we know they do since they track cash from haxors, etc.) they should easily be able to determine and inform us how much is earned and how much is Shark card. So for someone transferring a horde of cash from PS3 to PC (like me), or XBox 360 to PS4, they could turn their Shark card cash into cars or apartments, etc. and get their *real* money's worth out of it since those items are carried over with your character. The earned cash would just transfer as-is.

I bought one in order to buy the buzzard, but since then I haven't needed to.

I used to grind some missions, but now I just play missions and races with mates. Probably make about $100k for a couple of hours online - but thats not grinding, just playing whichever missions come up.

I have about a million right now, and there isn't anything I'm looking to buy really. Might get the Dodo, but have 2 apartments and all the modded cars I want, along with the planes I like (Vestra and Besra). Will probably keep the cash for when the next update launches - there's always a couple of things I want to buy.

I don't have any objections to buying cash cards - like someone else said I much prefer this method, than pricing each individual component, as in TLoU.

I did buy one a long, long time ago, before the billionaire days. I think this image will adequately convey how much it was for...
