ZZCOOL Posted December 10, 2014 Share Posted December 10, 2014 before i start theres major spoilers here about important plot points including the endingSo i finally got to finish gta 5, and i chose ending c however i try the other endings too and they were equally as depressing, seeing trevor burn to death was pretty painful as i liked him. Thing with trevor is i have mixed feelings for the character he did some messed up things, but steven ogg made trevor not seem like that kind of person, same way rockstar games potrayed him, it is hard to explain but all those messed up things did not fit for the character, it's like trevor did them for no reason at all it's like he was not meant to do them, they don't fit him at all trevor was loyal to the end even despite wanting michael dead refused to want any part of franklin killing him, even being angry about it he was also very intelligent and mostly acting normal he was even a good friend. I don't know, just that trevors personality just didn't fit the person he was supposed to be, it's like all sick things did not fit him at all i can't explain why i feel like that i just do, if he was more stupid with a voice like cletus then it might have been different. rockstar games wanted to make a complete psycho that everyone hated well they failed in my opinon sure he killed johnny but it didn't have the same effect on me because i ended up liking trevor. Most people hate Trevor because his character is like a porn that can't get passed the opening scene. Gdog Posted December 10, 2014 Share Posted December 10, 2014 I hated Trevor. I found him annoying and dreaded having to play as him. I even killed him at the end of my first play through. Not hating against Ogg cause he played the character well. I just personally didn't like Trevor. He has his good moments, but they are far too few and far between to have any love for Trevor beyond the occasional funny line he says. So yeah, Trevor is a psycho, but he's also extremely loyal and has his own f*cked up moral code. He was my favourite by a mile in V and is my default guy for f*cking around. He eats people, loves killing, does things to poor old Floyd, he sells meth! he manipulates people, killed wades friends so he could have his own personal bitch and killed everyone's beloved johnny. Would you want to spend any time with him if he was real? Weak for crystal weak for ashley...... Weak!That first cut scene left me feeling extremely uncomfortable to say the least. I think that R* were f*cking with us on that one. Lots of GTA fans (me included) were not into Nico's moralising and reluctance to be the classic GTA nut job. We wanted someone a bit more Tommy V like, so in that first scene R* said you want a pyscho we'll f*cking give you a pyscho and turned that sh*t up to 11!! He defintely grew on me after that though. He actually made us sympathise with one of the most unsympathetic characters of any game, ever. From killing Johnny in his first few minutes of the game, to torturing an 'innocent' man, to willingly and knowingly sleeping with another man's wife as a reward for murder, to the murder of his 'room-mate' and his wife... He's just f*cking horrible. I worry that people on here claim they can relate to him. And yet, despite all of that, Ogg plays the part so well that it's almost possible to just... overlook all of this because he's occasionally quite amusing. To be honest my only problem with him is that he killed Johnny K. He's just an eccentric. I hate people who don't like him because they think he's "edgy" or some sh*t. Yeah, that's more like it. He's way beyond an eccentric. An eccentric is a crazy old dude that wears weird clothes or does weird things. Not someone that, by their own admission, tortures and kills "a few animals, some drifters, no one anybody would miss". Signatures are dumb anyway. He has his good times and bad times, for example you never known what his "attitude" will be when you switch to him. He does have some compassion for others. However it usually depends on the person. He was nice enough to help rescue Lamar and Michael. Steve Ogg did a superb job at playing Trevor, he is a great GTA character. He sways from one extreme to another in a way that suggests he was written by a committee of people, rather than just one person with a clear vision for him. Ogg's performance just about aligns the disparities, but it's often so jarring that it's unmissable. He's a bad character because he's a complete mess. Signatures are dumb anyway. A messed up childhood, an early carrer gone wrong... ohh wait that was Tr... Trisha LOLOL, and when things seem to go on his way he was screwed again by his best friend, then for a few years he settled down and started his T.P.inc. Trevor Phillips Industries or whatever, but then those damn bikers hillbillies and most importantly those hipsters, he really hates hipsters LOLOL, started getting on his way, he had to do something and go completely insane. I think he really is a nice addition to the GTA characters, although I prefer Franklin in GTA V and definitely am a fan of Tommy Vercetti. But he is funny in a trailer park boys/ jackass type Of way. Franklin is my favorite. Of all GTA's my favorite is Tommy from VC and ob a close second is Niko. I hope they go more in depth with The characters in The next GTA, I would even like a female protantagonist AS long AS they could make it fitting to a criminal story or oh oh maybe a cop in a corrupt departement?
