freedom!

I love getting wanted stars too when I explore!

I love getting wanted stars killing someone in the middle of the desert with a suppressed weapon and no witnesses!

What's that got to do with freedom?

Everything really.

BTW: I checked out your YT channel.... xD I wont say a peep

I should mention that i pluged my PS2/SA on my old CRT TV via scart and it looks 5x better than on huge 1080p.

I`ve actually replayed the game from the start and even came to "high stakes, low riders" mission without any problems.

It looks like these new HD TV`s, especially those with huge screens f*ck up the picture of old SD games to the point where they are literaly unplayable.

But on a 24-year old tube TV it looks decent and it is playable.

I tried SA on a PS2 not so long ago and I found it unplayable. The graphics were too harsh. However, I bought it on the 360 (old version and I bought the HD remake)

It's much better on 360.

To add, it's a harsh step from GTA V back to SA or VC. However the graphics usually get "better" on your second sitting/gaming session. Takes a while to get used to the graphics and I'll even say that they can be enjoyed, even for a decade+ old game.

The only thing I hate about the Xbox (not the HD remastered) version of SA is the god awful loading times.

PC version is the best because the graphics don't look as bad.

This. And the PS2 is like that too (Which is not surprising at all).

Not that i'd be blinded by nostalgia or anything,

but I, with the expectation of GTA IV, am pro-3D Universe.

And San Andreas is just, memorable. While V is just a bit...meh.

It's a neat game because of the graphics and all that, but San Andreas -

has the setting (early 90s) and the atmosphere that V just can't beat. Not today, not tomorrow.

If we are discussing the PC version, then SA, for the simple reason that we have played it.

Things that SA has better (in my opinion):

-map (3 cities, bunch of small towns, good desert and countryside)

-side activities (gambling,burglary,lowrider competitions,arcade minigames...)

-criminal activities (gang wars, shootouts by rival gangs on borders of gang turfs, gang recruitment, spraying gang grafitti, random criminals stealing cars sometimes, drug dealers...)

-character customization (ability to be skinny, muscular or overweight, ability to learn different fighting styles,in GTA 5 you can only change clothes and haircuts and get tattoos which you can also so in SA)

-more interiors (you can enter many stores, restaurants and bars, and even other people´s homes in burglary side missions)

-more missions

-ability to buy safehouses

-soundtrack

Things that 5 has better (in my opinion):

-graphics

-more vehicles

-more weapons

-vehicle customization (more visual options for cars, performance upgrades, now you can also customize motorcycles, however it´s missing nitro, hydraulics and vinyl decals which SA had)

I'm grateful that they brought customization back in GTA 5 but it's dismissible when compared to San Andreas.

REALLY? GTA V has way more car customization than SA, and the tattoos look great. Who cares if they left Hydraulics and Nitrous out, that doesn't mean that there aren't tons of other customizations to choose from.

Agreed. Out of all the things GTA V done wrong I believe it nailed vehicle customisation. Not only does it have a lot more variety in terms of cosmetic and performance mods you're not just limited to modifying cars/4x4s like in SA.

I like that we can customise motorbikes. However I still think SA has superior player customisation and it doesn't feel as restrictive as it does in GTA V.

GTA V has better vehicle customisation and SA has better player customisation IMO.

I never enjoyed the customization in SA only because the clothes didn't really fit CJ. Come on, Groucho glasses? What threw me off the most in SA was how CJ sagged just about everything he wore. He even sagged suit pants. I get he's a gangster, but still, can't he have some decency? Most of the clothes looked too big on CJ and would only fit him well if he was buff, and we all know how stupid buff CJ's jogging animation is.

Lol. A lowlife gang member who understands the concept of decency does not exist. Also, Groucho glasses were just for fun. Didn't have to wear them if you didn't want...but they're really no different then the absurd masks in GTA V.

Whilst some of the options in SA are a bit silly GTA V isn't without them either. I'd say most of the novelty clothing fits in with SA better though. However what I feel makes it better in SA is you also have a good selection of jewellery too.

I think it says everything when even GTAO has more than what single player does.

And seemingly receives more attention than SP.

To me the story is the most important thing, so SA beats V in that. But story aside, V is better.

SA. Why? Because of the atmosphere. Honestly I love VC and SA because of the 80/90 setting. Also, character costumization and some side missions felt better in SA.

Graphics? Yeah, V beats the sh*t out of SA. Different times.

Actually I like my CJ when he's buff. He can run faster, he has more endurance/stamina, and when he punches he does a lot more damage.

I love to enjoy the view of games rather than killing people or beat missions. So the graphic is important for me.

But I can't choose specific one because each game has it's own character.

gtaSA has 3 cities. Driving from one city to another city makes me feel like im living in San Andreas. Distinguished 3 cities appeal me.

While gta5 has detailed graphics. The graphic allows me enjoying everything in the world. Not only city, but forests, deserts, lakes, mountains, everything is beautiful.

I can't choos only one!

If SA had a good lead, i would choose SA, but no, CJ is my least favorite character , i never liked the muscle/fat sistem , his customizations options and the history so i'll go with V, i prefer 3 characters i kinda like and Trevor dipped in a weak and dumb history over exploring 3 great cities with a character i don't like soaked in a bad history that's all over the place.

In a nutshell, is 3 characters diluting the history gainst 3 cities diluting the story, as IV and VC taught us, simple is better.

GTA SA has well developed characters, perfect antagonists, and a superb storyline, but GTA 5 doesn't...But they both have fun gameplay...GTA 5 has excellent graphics, GTA SA doesn't, but that was 11 years ago, so it's excusable...A major issue that I have with GTA 5 is the Johhny incident...But I can't shut it down simply because of that...Hmmm...Difficult, I literally can't choose...

gta v easily brought so much shame for a sandbox game,it is more like game for kids and graphic w***** because the only thing that great from that game is just graphic and the features are not any better than gta sa,no contest here

Maybe it's just me... Or did we simply grow up? Perhaps San Andreas is held in high regard by many of us because it's sort of a gateway to our childhood/adolescence.

It's just the perfect game for me. I believe ten years from now, I can still go back and play the storyline and enjoy it just as much.

I concur. Now days I can easily go back into SA. On the other hand V is a chore to play.

GTA: San Andreas was the last of the 3D era games, and because of that it will always have that nostalgic feeling of "this is what GTA is about." Personally, GTA IV is my favorite and I feel it's an authentic GTA but many people don't, and many more people think that GTA V barely resembles GTA and is heading in Saints Row territory. I agree. When ever I play GTA V, I feel like I'm playing a big, beautiful open world game but it doesn't feel like GTA to me, not with superpowers and limitations.

San Andreas will always be better then V, and I don't care how many updates Rockstar releases, they cannot fix the game's deep flaws by shoving shiny new cars down our throats. A few things about San Andreas, I really liked the body customization that we could give CJ. There was a wide variety of hairstyles, tattoos, and the ability to change his physique depending on eating habits and exercise habits, something that I think needs to be brought back. From a character and story standpoint, it is by no means a RDR or GTA IV but it still puts GTA V to shame. Many of the characters/personalities in the game were memorable and interesting, the story takes us around the map from a ghetto to small towns, deserts, to a stake in a casino on the strip, can't beat that. They game also had real antagonist...you know, the people who're supposed to drive you insane and put you through hell the entire game so at the end you get satisfaction from killing them, yeah them guys. As for the map, it wasn't massive by any means but it felt massive and ultimately that's what counts. Desert felt like a desert, woods like woods, and cities like cities. In closing, San Andreas was the real deal of the 3D universe.
