Does the gauntlet handle differently than it used to to anyone else?

Recommended Posts

Yes, but without turbo on it's back to its old muscle car goodness.

EDIT: Now that you mentioned you're on the last gen version OP, I did notice a difference with it on the 360 version when I went back to it after transferring to PS4.

The Guanlet is the best balance car in the muscle class fyi.

The Dominator is faster, but it's slippery and spins out easy. The Blade has lots of acceleration and traction, but it under steers pretty bad and drive it on a tight, winding track it's flaws stick out like a sore thumb.

The Guanlet is fast enough, has good handling, and just enough traction to power slide around windy turns without spinning out.

It's too slow though. The addition of the Blade, then the spoilers adding traction and then the addition of the Dukes pushed the Gauntlet more and more down the list. It is the 5th fastest now at best. If you don't like the Blade and Dominator you should give the Dukes (new gen) or Ruiner a shot sometime. :)

Would be nice if it would be more like a challenger instead of a camaro/challenger mix... i dont like the camaro front/tail on the gauntlet at all.

Thats exactly what ruined the car for me. Its nice but if it was a challenger I would own one still.

I don't have new gen yet so no comment on Dukes.

The lack of spoiler really means nothing as the Gauntlet had good traction to start. And as I said on a windy track the Blade and Dominator both show serious flaws. The Blade while grippy as f*ck is very slow cornering shape, the Dominator while can corner shape also spins out rather easy.

The Gauntlet is a car that's best at nothing, but good at everything. It won't win long straight line hauls against the Blade or Dominator, but on more technical tracks where sliding around bends and handling is key over speed, I'd place my bets on the Gauntlet every time.

All cars have advantages and disadvantages. Blade has acceleration, Dominator has overall speed, Gauntlet has handling.

On topic of the Ruiner I love that car. Always came off more on the slippery end, though I think a bit less since spoilers started adding traction. But I'm not sure the Ruiner is the all around package I'm finding the Gauntlet to be.

I just wish the Gauntlet had more damn mods then paint and wheels. A big engine, or at least a hood scoop, and some sort spoiler and maybe body kit would be nice.

I actually found the Gauntlets handling to be a little stiff and enjoy the sliding of the dominator. Its a special slide that maintains speed I've found. At least to me.

My main character had a Gauntlet. Thing kicks ass. Sold it for a Blade. Thing kicks ass. 2nd character recently got a gauntlet for muscle racing. Thing still kicks ass. I love that people hate on it cause it just means there are less Gauntlets to compete against. Makes my racing life easier :)

The Gauntlet is a huge dissappointment seeing as the car has zero customization features. And this is coming from someone with a 2011 Dodge Challenger setting in my real life garage. SO yeah... huge let down

Where has R* said that spoilers actually affect performance now?

Look when you customize a car and you add or subtract the spoiler on a car. The traction bar will move a couple hairs.

I've noticed several cars on the PS3 don't handle like they had. The Stratum seems like it's RWD now and several of my Sports cars seem to understeer like crazy. I wonder if there was some tweaks to the game engine.

I feel you. Ive got a 6th gen charger, at least the buffalo almost looks exactly the same as its real life counterpart.. :D
