Son of Zeus
Hi all, I have some things in mind. 1. We need a 'dislike' button. Just like the 'like' button is meant to express your agreement of a post, a 'dislike' button would serve as a means of expressing your dissent. 2. Why can't guests vote? It'll be nice to see reactions from a wider audience. 3. If possible, there should be a system to notify you when someone mentions you in a post. I've seen many people posting '@X' instead of quoting X's post. Woggleman is a prime example. 4. Ability to post polls in mobile version. If possible, would be nice. 5. A question- How is a thread labelled 'HOT' ? What's the criteria? 6. How does one get into different groups? Other than 'Members' and 'New Members'. 7. At present, we have 3 questions in a poll, with 50 options for each question. I want the no. of questions raised to 5 per poll. That's all. Vanto
1. It would be abused. 3. Quoting the post makes the job too. 5. When it surpasses a page, or reaches 29 replies, to be more specific. 6. If you refer to groups like Zaibatsu, The Connection and Leone Family Mafia, this should explain. WildBrick142
2. Why can't guests vote? It'll be nice to see reactions from a wider audience. I'm sure many people wouldn't like having thousands of "Guest likes your post in the topic" in their notifications. This would also most likely be abused by members logging out and liking their own posts as a guest to increase their like number. There are more than enough members to get a nice audience, and if a guest wants to vote they can register for an account. 4. There won't be any major modifications until the new IPB according to a lot of times it has been said by a staff. 7. Is there any particular reason for this? Xyn
1. Has been suggested multiple times. Would lead to abuse and people complaining about it. 2. This is a community website, having guests vote ruins the purpose of getting involved in the community. 3. You can enable getting notified if you are quoted. 5. If a thread surpasses 30 posts, it get's labelled "hot". 6. Stand out from the crowd and a group might just show interest.

Sentrion
Hi all, I have some things in mind. 1. We need a 'dislike' button. Just like the 'like' button is meant to express your agreement of a post, a 'dislike' button would serve as a means of expressing your dissent. That's probably to prevent any kind of abuse from members. It'd be annoying, really. 2. Why can't guests vote? It'll be nice to see reactions from a wider audience. What would be the exclusiveness to registration then? The forum needs members, not guest votes. It'd defeat the purpose of being a community here. Votes should accompany active discussion to it as well. 3. If possible, there should be a system to notify you when someone mentions you in a post. I've seen many people posting '@X' instead of quoting X's post. Woggleman is a prime example..Mention System? Well, I've seen it on other forum softwares. I think one can be implemented here on IPB too. 4. Ability to post polls in mobile version. If possible, would be nice..Mobile theme's supposed to be a lite version of GTAF and hence doesn't have an option for polls. You could always switch to full version. 5. A question- How is a thread labelled 'HOT' ? What's the criteria?A topic having more than a single page of discussion is labelled as Hot Topic. 6. How does one get into different groups? Other than 'Members' and 'New Members'.Take a look at the PGC Gangs & Information List. Gangs that have spent many years together and kept themselves alive through activity, recruitment and dedication to the forums are awarded official status. This can be through gang races, where gangs pit themselves against each other to win a community vote, or as an award from staff. Official gangs are given the following: Their own member group A member group badge (pip) Access to the private OGA lounge There is a lot of history surrounding the forum gang scene as some official gangs have been around since the early days of 2002. Many have fallen, disbanded or merged over the years, but there are currently 10 official gangs in circulation, each well-established in the GTAForums community. Many of my topics have surpassed a page and weren't labelled hot. I've seen other topics too. 7. It would help in making comparisons between two things more detailed. Like if we're comparing two GTAs, 5 aspects like Story, Gameplay, Radio/Songs, Replaybility and Vehicle Physics would be nice. And explain how the dislike button would be abused. It would make the members think before posting nonsense. Just a virtual thing. Edited December 3, 2014 by Son of Zeus

Son of Zeus
Well Trolls will remain trolls. It's not like everybody will start disliking just to troll. You mean disliking, because you can already like/unlike the post with the current system. But yeah, as said previously, it's going to be abused. If someone wouldn't like that one option is winning over another, that person could use different IP's/friends/whateverelseisthere to change the poll results. There are +1,000s trolls here. They'd abuse it just for having "fun" with it. 2. Because guests could take a minute of their time and register to post their opinions about the subject too. 3. That'd be a good idea. 4. That'd be a good idea. 5. Lots of people replying.. 6. Suck it up to their leaders. 7. Uhhh, ok.
Aby
1. Dislike buttons are hilarious, but they are indeed abused. Telltale Forums used to have one and they ended up removing it because people would just downvote the f*ck out of posts to oblivion, so the forum was just people completely flinging sh*t at each other, as funny as it was. 2. Probably simply because then people could vote twice by just voting, then logging out and voting again. Also don't need a bunch of random guests messing up the poll that they're not even truly interested in. 3. Been discussed before, quoting someone is the next best thing if they have quote notifications on. I personally don't. 4. I agree, would be a good feature, although nothing to riot about. 6. Just be you, and if a group likes you, then you might possibly be admitted.

Spider-Vice
1. This is not reddit. 2. It can be widely abused, I don't even think IPB offers that option. 3. Sometimes tagging seems to work automatically but it doesn't notify you. This is coming in IPB 4.0, to which GTAF should be upgraded one of these days. 4. Blame IPB, not GTAForums.
