Sunrise Driver
Seems like there was less gravity on Earth in XIX century London. Or characters are too light. The whole physics engine looks poorer than in AC1 (let alone later AC games). Edited September 25, 2015 by Street Mix
HaythamKenway
According to the Story trailer, there isn't much Assassin vs. Templars in this game, but rather Assassin affiliated groups vs. Templar affiliated groups. The story trailer wasn't great, but it does give away some good info the villains. A bad story trailer is the sign of a great game. It feels like the conflict in Syndicate will be much more, how to put it, local? In past AC games, actions of Assassins and Templars usually had heavy impact on how that certain era unfolded. Struggle to control the American Revolution between the two groups, Templars masterminding the French Revolution, all that fun at the Ottoman court in Revelations and so on. Syndicate seems like it really will be just about weakening the Templar control of London, instead of some high politics and working of the Empire. Which makes perfect sense, considering how much of a stranglehold the Templars always had in Britain. This is the place where Assassins really should be just underground, trying to survive. When it comes to the Templars themselves, I'm getting strong Brotherhood vibes from them. You know, a colorful cast of devilish villians, with the big bad who looks quite literally like a maniacal moustache twirler. I'm not too sure how to feel about that. On one hand, I really did enjoyed Cesare screaming his guts out every time he met Ezio, but I vastly prefer more symphatetic, morally grey Templars of 1, III and IV. Oh well, maybe they'll still have some depth to them and even if not, still better than Unity's Order of Cardboard Cutouts.
Mr. Scratch
What, Unity had those types of Templars. Elisé and her father.
HaythamKenway
Sure, but 99 % of Templars we actually went against were pretty one-dimensional. The writers just didn't bother to flesh them out properly. I remember only La Touche and le Peletier had some symphatetic, or understandable, motivatons and goals. I don't remember anything special about Sivert, the King of Beggars or that lady who helped Germain back to power. Lafreniere was only interesting in that he was one of few characters in the story (perhaps the only one) who was connected with the foreign interference from Austria, that Unity ignores for some reason, even though it had tremendous impact on the Revolution. I really like Germain, but even he didn't get as much room as Bart Roberts did in IV. The Sage's crazed villainy was also balanced by Torres and Rogers there, who both had a lot of screen time, and Unity just doesn't have characters like that. HaythamKenway
I wonder why Ubisoft didn't bother to emphasise the comedy aspect of Syndicate more in the promotion. We heard that it was going to be more lighthearted and with some funny banter between the twins, but after watching those previews, it feels like the whole game will be straight-up light comedy. And it works, I had a good chuckle while watching every cutscene. The "date" with Disraeli's wife being easily the highlight. I feel like Ubi missed an opportunity to get some people on board by pretending that Syndicate will be another dry, 110% serious drama like III and Unity. From what I've seen, the change in tone is so strong that it alone helps set Syndicate quite a bit apart from other ACs.
combustion
Looks like Ubisoft needs to hire a better team which designs the trailers for the game, I've seen some, and all of them suck, especially the newest cinematic one. ACIV, ACU, ACRe all had great trailers, but IMO a bad trailer could be the sign of a great game, maybe.
HaythamKenway
AC trailers were always a mixed bag. Some are great, but most completely misinterpret the game's story (Rogue and Unity are especially pretty big offenders) and tend to get quite cringy. An example of a good trailer: And a really bad one: Syndicate had its share of both. I really like the Twin Assassins trailer, but CGI trailers are plain bad and none of trailers in general captured the spirit the actual gameplay and writing has in preview walkthroughs. And the last trailer with historical figures was pretty laughable. I get what they are trying to say, but it was just cheesy. So yeah, I never take AC trailers seriously. esmittystud101, LiniArc and Eliz

I guess I am getting much used to how the forum works. It was a good article. Got me pretty in the mood for Syndicate and that saying alot because I'm having a blast with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves right now. I think I'm actually going to fully finish Black Flag tonight. I never got around to playing the DLC for it and I think the PS4 version had like an hour of exclusive content with a female protagonist I think. I never played Unity but in the article it talks about having the murder mysteries again like they had in Unity and they sound pretty interesting. I really enjoyed Black Flag though, the whole pirate setting is why I made it my first Assassin's Creed purchase ever. I'm glad they picked the time and setting for Syndicate as well, been waiting for a game with that setting and being open world of course. Never was into Unity setting, atleast by the gameplay. Also, Ubisoft sent me an email a few weeks ago letting me know about some kind of AC:Syndicate group where basically you use your U-Play account to access it. Its run by U-Play though. It basically has a credit / points system that you can use it for getting DLC for Syndicate. Just preordering the game gave me 12,000 credits right off the bat, plus signing into it gave me 2,000 I think. Anyways below will be links to all the DLC it gives you. El Dildo
I'm sure I'll try Syndicate at some point. recently I finally got to try AC:Rogue and it was surprisingly enjoyable. the AC formula usually works just fine. people get mad I guess because Ubisoft keeps pumping these out but as long as they're fun who gives a sh/t. HaythamKenway
First thing you see in the game is Assassins hacking "your Helix" again and the literallywho Bishop sending you on another random fetch quest. If I cared about Modern Day, I'd be pretty annoyed. Thankfully, I don't, so I'm just laughing. Ubi forums must be tearing each other apart right now. Players have been asking forever now for anything civil war related but the developers don't want the headache that comes with it most likely. Plus the Call of Duty community including myself have been waiting for civil war anything since World At War, LOL. Assassin's Creed did try though, especially this year with Syndicate. Alot of historical figures will be in the game,Karl Marx, Alexander Graham Bell, Queen Victoria, Charles Darwin, Charles Dickens, and Florence Nightingale. Also exclusive to PS4 is some Penny Dreadful-themed missions, ten to be exact, in The Dreadful Crimes DLC. Also, on top of all that they threw in Jack the Ripper dlc as well. Videos below. I can't wait. Playing some Freedom Cry that I never finished on Black Flag right now. Its not bad dlc at all. https://youtu.be/hKfHTFoEigI - Historical Figures Also, when I clicked one of the videos above an ad started playing. Snore.....snore....snore....and then I seen it was an Assassin's Creed Syndicate Gamestop commercial. I had to laugh a little. Creed Bratton
Apparently Jacob's hat is glued to his head. Look at that leap of faith And how many trailers can these people release? It's like there's a new trailer every day. We get it for f*ck sake. You release an AC game every year. We don't need constant reminders like we all have ADD. Not to mention how cringeworthy these trailers have become with their ridiculous choice of songs.
