Creed Bratton
Who cares if it's 1 year or not if the game is good? Who cares what PR team say? Because the games aren't good. They're servicable at best. If they spent more time and money developing their games instead of just on marketing, the games would be better. But to this day their game design is completely broken with only minor patches instead of real improvements and innovations. Combat is wonky and shallow, economy is completely broken, the cities don't feel real at all, side missions are boring, the present day story is distracting from the meat of the game and it's destroying immersion just when you start to get into it. As much as I like Black Flag, can you imagine how much better it would have been if it had a really deep combat system and a working economy? If the NPC's actually did something and if the exploration and reward system wasn't basic as f*ck? Can you imagine If Black Flag was made by CD Projekt RED for example? A game made with love and passion instead of just implementing a bunch of stuff from the checklist of mandatory features. Even the best Assassin's Creed game is monument to missed opportunities. esmittystud101
I loved Black Flag. If Syndicate does the same method they used in Black Flag, I'm happy. Especially collectables and treasure hunts. The treasure hunts were awesome.
TheOneLibertonian
I love the AC Series, and Syndicate is looking to be a better game than what others see, but the location and time period alone is interesting enough to get me hooked. I was always a huge fan of the Victorian times, and London back then was a stepping stone, but to be honest with ya, I really didn't get as hyped as I did with previous games. Ubi has taken the marketing pretty lightly. Which is a good move, after all they hype Unity had pre release and the massive amounts of criticism and disappointments after release hurt both Ubi's and the AC Series itself as a whole. I am very optimistic about it and I am looking forward to play it. Still busy with Metal Gear, and possibly Mad Max, in which I am going to buy after savoring TPP. acmilano and HaythamKenway
RedMachete
I think the time period and location- London during the Industrial Revolution is a great idea for a video game. I don't think I would of been that interested in the game if not for that.

MikeyBelic
The London horizon looked pretty trash with a month and three weeks until release day lol. The AI looked like they were glitching on rails and the city looked really rough compared to what it looked like in 'legit' screens released six months ago. But on the good old Ubi forums everyone was like "omg they're playing cricket lol this is generation breaking stuff". Sunrise Driver
Because the games aren't good. They're servicable at best. Nope, they're very good. economy is completely broken, the cities don't feel real at all, side missions are boring 1. Broken how? 2. They feel real. 3. Nope. As much as I like Black Flag, can you imagine how much better it would have been if it had a really deep combat system and a working economy? Black Flag fine as it. With economy It would've been just easier and quicker to beat fully. Look at Rogue.
acmilano
There will be a Russian AC game and it will take place in the Russian Revolution of 1917. This one unfortunatelly I'm not into 2D games anymore.
HaythamKenway
Austin Wintory, the man behind Journey's soundtrack, was confirmed to compose the score for Syndicate. He put up the game's theme on his Soundcloud. https://soundcloud.com/awintory Compared to other AC themes since Jesper Kyd left, this is by far the most low-key. I don't want to assume things based on such little evidence, but I hope this means the return to that older style of music, rather than bombastic Hollywood-ish soundtracks last few games had. combustion
If you get the Season Pass, you get 10 more new single-player missions, like 'The Last Maharaja', 'A Long Night' and the 'Jack the Ripper DLC', plus the Streets of London Pack, and more weapons. This is offering much more than the previous AC games' Season Passes. So, could it be actually worth it, for the first time?

So, could it be actually worth it, for the first time? It's not offering much more. It's offering less in the core game in order to sell more as DLC. You're getting raped and they're making you think that you asked for it. Sunrise Driver
This should be delayed for PC (and get all the DLCs on launch) instead of NFS.

HaythamKenway
You Wouldn't Steal a Policeman's Helmet - Hijack twenty police vehicles. Haah. I miss The IT Crowd. Some interesting things there. Some achievements mention leveling up "Associates". Perhaps that's Assassin recruits from Brohood/Rev returning? I've wanted a gang building system from the moment the game was announced, so I'd love to see that. WW1 time rift, yesss. acmilano

HaythamKenway
Since this might as well be an Assassin's Creed general thread for now, an interview with Rogue's lead writer Richard Farrese. I have to say I really like how casual and up-front he's about the series and his work. It's heartwarming to see that while Ubisoft may be on one hand as this huge soulless corporate moloch, people who actually work on these games really do care and are really friendly and open compared to, say, Rockstar with their cryptic Newswire posts and self-congratulatory ego massages. combustion
The PS4 exclusive detective missions look a lot better than Unity's Murder Mysteries, IMO. The cutscenes itself is a nice addition.
HaythamKenway
Loads of gameplay and cutscene videos came out today. So far it looks like the chemistry between Evie and Jacob really does work and Jacob is getting some extra points for coming across as a huge lovable as*hole... which means that Ubisoft's marketing team lied again and he really isn't Ezio 3.0. He reminds me much more of Edward, just without that unsymphatetic edge. I'm still not convinced about combat though. It doesn't look nearly as wonky as it did few months ago, but from videos I've seen, enemies are still pretty stiff. With more focus on Arkham-style combat, I would have expected them to be much faster and mobile. Maybe it will feel better once I'll finally get my hands on the game, since this isn't really a kind of thing you can judge through passive watching. combustion
According to the Story trailer, there isn't much Assassin vs. Templars in this game, but rather Assassin affiliated groups vs. Templar affiliated groups. The story trailer wasn't great, but it does give away some good info the villains. A bad story trailer is the sign of a great game.
combustion
Assassin's Creed is slowly becoming like a GTA game now... two playable protagonists and ability to switch between them in missions, steal horse carts and ram and run people over with it, horse cart chases and killing animals, gang wars, helping police etc. It seems that Ubisoft decided that their creative teams sucks, so they just borrowed a lot of stuff from other games and Assassin's Creed-ised it. Creed Bratton
There's something really uncanny about those facial animations and the graphics in general. Unity was like that too. They're aiming for realism but it just comes across as weird and overstated. AC III and IV were better in this regard.
