Serious question, what is the appeal of assisted aim in multiplayer?

My only argument against free aim: it's harder to join races through quick join. If more people left freemode, this wouldn't be the case... I hate switching between AA and FA to do non-shooting activities.

 

Before people tell me to join a crew, I don't play this game to dedicate myself to self-annointed leaders and dictators with their "play GTA everyday or GTFO" rules. I'd rather be a lone wolf, or just play with friends.

I love assisted aim, as I'm sh*t at free aiming. I guess I could practice a bit more but meh. I play GTA for enjoyment and fun, not to be bothered with precise head shots.

The AI makes anybody realize that this game wasn't optimized for free aim at all. That's the only situation where assisted aim should be allowed, especially when I get gibbed by enemies hiding in bushes and shooting from cover...

 

Playing first-person mode with full lock-on aiming is stupid, although I'll play FA Assisted because I can't play shooters without that sticky aim on consoles.

I don't get why everyone says the AI is so uber,,,, they are push overs, what game did you play before GTA that had a hard AI for you, Pokemon?? Seriously put on some body armor and stfu.

Also, the armor is near useless. The AI eat it in like two shots. Your argument is completely flawed, like your face.

I started on Auto-aim myself, by the end of November 2013 I switched to free-aim for multiple reasons

1) It locked onto someone I didn't want to kill which was rare seeing as i'm not the kill in free roam type

2) There are more of those kill on sight people in Assisted Aim lobbies.

3) Free-Aim feels simple and easy to use for me. Hell the A.I isn't as hard for me anymore.

Not at all... the OP asked a legitimate question & is fed up with recieving invites from Auto-aimers.

 

I also want to know how people can enjoy playing on a mode that locks onto targets at the press of a button especially in PVP.

 

 

Im hoping they do away with Auto-aim in GTAVI, because Auto-aimers get real... If Rockstar had to chose one Aiming mode over the other , you Auto-aim guys would be adapting to Free-aim beacause Auto-aim is a pointless/mindless system... Ive seen no good excuse to use it other than NPCs have Auto-aim.

That's how GTA was designed. The same reason I prefer it over 1st person shooters. It's alot different than most games.

Free aim or auto-aim, they way other people do missions makes it a boring grind.

 

I don't care if we're in free aim, I'm not playing Rooftop Rumble 10 times in a row because you're too much of a f*ckwad to try and play other missions.

 

And no, RR and then Trash Talk and then RR again is NOT variety.

 

EDIT: I mean for f*ck's sakes, we're staying out of free roam already so you dudes can play pew pew with cheese graters and the 2011 line-up of Hot Wheels, but please dear god f*cking stop bothering us in missions.

I can confirm that he does crack the occasional humourous one-liner. You, however, are being over serious about a meaningless video game and pretty much just go through this forum looking for things to get upset about.

 

On the FA/AA thing, it's horses for courses. No style is better than the other as it is purely down to individual preference. Don't really see why folks are getting upset about it - it's not as if AA players are mixed in with FA players. Non-issue really.

My only gripe is that in auto aim servers, there's no auto aim for guys in cars. Why not? It only seems fair. People in cars are practically siting ducks because of unfair advantage of some prick being able to shoot you down when you're zipping by at a clocked speed of 80 mph.

They should either allow the driver to auto-aim onto a target with LB or remove the ability for players on foot to auto-aim onto drivers.
