GTA Racing Vs. Forza / Gran Turismo Racing

Yeah it's just different preferences. I can tolerate closed course racing games but to me they'll never be as fun as the open world games. That's why I'm glad Forza does them both so you can drive a car on a track and then turn around and drive it around Europe (or Colorado).

I do like the classic Porsches though, such as the 930 and the 964.

 

EDIT: FM3 actually have Porsches in it, no DLC.

 

 

Every Forza prior to 4 had Porsches in it; Turn 10 had a sub license with EA to use them in games. That changed after EA released Shift 2, as it was seen as competition. My understanding is that getting the sub licensing just for the DLC itself was quite expensive (hence why the DLC cost like $20) so we'll probably not see Porsches again until EA no longer holds the exclusive license. It just doesn't make sense financially for Turn 10.

They got the license for RUF, which are essentially cars that look like Porsches but are actually good. What's the problem?

 

I wish EA would give up Porsche and sign up with RUF like everybody else. Or better yet, sign up with RUF regardless. Porsche cars may have been good once upon a time but that time has long passed, today they are just overrated, overpriced luxury items.

 

Hell even Rockstar agrees, they based the new Comet off a RUF, based only the manufacturer off Porsche.

Fair enough. Although there is the CTR, which is pretty much the definitive classic Porsche 911.

 

That's why I think Forza 4 is the best in the series. Features both RUF's and classic Porsches, but that's only because of EA's reluctance to allow Microsoft to use them. Otherwise, they would have ditched RUF completely like they did with the previous games.

Agreed. FM5 suffered so much that it's a letdown. Drivatars suck too, instead of one M Rossi. You get a grid full of M Rossi's.

 

EDIT: I do love the Yellowbird, such an amazing handling car if you can handle it.

Loving the 97T in GT6. Handles like a dream. Best car to drive with my G27.

 

Driving on the Nurburgring at night and 100% rain is the best experience I've ever had with racing games and that's on GT6.

 

I wish they had the MP4/4 or the MP4/6.
