Should Rockstar put an end to the series

Recommended Posts

Woah I didn't expect to see lots of 'no' comments because it would be so great if Rockstar focus all their development on GTA 5 and its Online to make the game the biggest and the most succesful game ever in gaming history. If they do release GTA 6, I bet it will never overcome GTA 5 in gameplay nor sales simply because people will stay in GTA Online. At least the ones who love the game mostly like me and you do. Also this game can be easily considered as the highest benchmark of the series because its number 'V' is more pleasant number than 'VI'. This maybe sounds weird but if you think it psychologically it makes sense, just look at the game's cover; 'VI' will not look as simple as 'V'.

Also I don't understand why you all don't think GTA 5 is the best in the series since the game is so gorgeous than ever in comparison with others. Maybe you prefer others more because of nostalgia but if you consider from neutral view then you will see the answer...

...put an end to the series? Well first at all I want to say that GTA V and the Online were the best game experiences ever made, no games can do better than these. The game is so perfect in new gen consoles because it's so better looking and also the steady 30fps makes the game so smooth and gorgeous! The world, the voice-acting, the story and the gameplay... they are all so spectacular. Without GTA V very minority of people know about gaming industry (by minority I mean the gamers) but thanks to this game the gaming industry can be compared to film industry which are known by everyone nowadays.

The amount of bullsh*t, bias and fanboyism is so high it's almost impossible to stand it without dying from brain tumor. If V is the best game you've ever played then you must be either inexperienced gamer, who never has seen a really good game or you're just trolling.

And to answer this question, no they shouldn't, because the brand is too strong and too well known to just kill it. What they really need to do, is to stop and rethink what made it (the brand) really great in the first place. If they will be able to reuse their knowledge, experience and power they have know and combine it with their older attitude and ideas we will have the best games ever. V was as far from that as possible.

OK. So GTA IV fans can say GTA IV is the best in the series, but when GTA V fans say it's unjustifyable? The fanboys here might be you guys. Besides as a gamer who has ended a bunch of games, I would say GTA V is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever played, and I've seen more than a lot of people whom would agree with me.

Wotchu torkin 'bout gta4_playiss.

GTA 6 will overcome 5.

The profit they made will allow them to have amazing graphics, gameplay, a massive map, everything really. However, R* must listen their fans, it seems they haven't so far.

They would have to screw up pretty badly to have gameplay worse than in GTA 5. They would have to intentionally make everything sh*t.

R listening to their fans is the problem. V is s product of listening to their fans and as great as I think it is it could have been even better without pandering. Say what you want but if IV was more appreciated V would have been a different game so they did listen to the fans whether you like the changed or not.

I don't see any rhyme or reason to end the series. GTA V sold like crazy, so financial problems certainly aren't a factor, and most fans of Vice City, San Andreas and/or IV (Like myself) who were let down with GTA V will still hold out some hope for the next GTA game. Until Rockstar clearly doesn't have any passion left for the series or any desire to continue it besides money, it shouldn't end. And as much as I was not a fan of GTA V, I wouldn't go so far to say there wasn't effort put behind it.

You have to be crazy if you seriously think most people on a GTA forum would want to see it end. GTA V's fans are going to want to see a sequel to their favorite game, and GTA V detractors are going to hope for a sequel that they can enjoy after a disappointing game in their favorite (or one of their favorite) gaming series.

Try to read and notice the difference. Best in the series doesn't mean best in the world. I easily myself could say that IV was the best in the series, but I would never call it best in the world. Not IV nor any other GTA game, because there are simply much better games. I could call it one of the best, but no way the best ever. And I guess no fan of any GTA would say it.

And V was as far as possible from that title, because if we get to choose the game that really brought something to the table, III, SA or IV would be much closer. V was simply mix of wrong ideas and bad implementation. And if that was really one of your best gaming experiences, then I feel sorry for you. Really. The other games you were playing must be simply rubbish.

The biggest fear i ever had about going to next generation...

Exclusive titles like Max Payne 3, Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire was just insane perfect and great, so was Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City.

I have the fear we will not see something like that for a long time on the new generation consoles, apperiantley, as Grand Theft Auto V seems to bring all the dollars in, will we ever see something different but GTA from R* in the upcoming 10 years ? I would love to see another L.A. Noire or if you like Max Payne.

But the probably most i want is a second part of Red Dead Redemption, this was just one hell of a game.

...GTA V and the Online were the best game experiences ever made, no games can do better than these.

That's as far as I got before the premise was so flawed I could not continue. And it's not because I don't like V or anything like that, it's because technology and such will keep improving thus the games will too.

With free engines like Unity and such there are bound to be more crappy games as well, but with abundance comes the need to separate the wheat from the chaff.

^Well evolving technology will always improve the graphics, texture and the gameplay experience of a game but coming up with a story is what is always stayed stable. As Lester states,"Classic Vinewood ended thirty years ago. Now it's just superheroes, romantic comedies and remakes. None of which interest me". The story links everything together, lets hope the writers get more imaginative.

No. It's just that boredom's your style. In other words, you play lame games that no one cares about or even plays.

Nah nah nah Gta 6

And you really felt like it was necessary to spam the topic even more by quoting his post?

And you really need to argue so much you need to get the topic locked?

Oh, wow, such personal attack. I think I go cry to a corner. How old are you? Twelve?

And you didn't get rude? What happen to:

"And if that was really one of your best gaming experiences, then I feel sorry for you. Really. The other games you were playing must be simply rubbish"

Same thing that happened back at that other thread. You're the biggest hypocrite on this website.

IDAS Leader and Tycek stop, we don't want this thread locked.

I'll be nice if he does.

This is, ironically, what happened with GTA San Andreas. It set the bar sooo high, that, when the next games came out, (GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City Stories, and GTA IV) some people didn't think those games were that good, and thought, "If GTA LCS sucked, why go back and buy San Andreas? It's an older game than LCS. What could it have that my 'terrible' game doesn't?" Then, they don't SA, simply because it is an older game, when, in fact, that older game could be better for them.

Or, think of another scenario; someone who has played GTA SA for a while, and plays the next game, GTA LCS, and decides it is worse. Said player then thinks the rest of the upcoming series will also be worse, and does not buy the newer ones.

Either way, R* loses sales.

Actually no. he said the games I played were garbage first. Didn't you read the sentence I quoted?

"And if that was really one of your best gaming experiences, then I feel sorry for you. Really. The other games you were playing must be simply rubbish" -Tycek. Then that's when I told him the games he plays are lame.

I'm not going to lie I did call him a fanboy and the others too, but it was for a reason. GTA IV fans are getting mad at the OP, for stating his opinion about GTA V and GTA online, and they started calling him stupid and all types unnecessary.

They wouldn't put an end to the series that put Rockstar on the map, and considering that according to Rockstar they have '45 Years Worth Of Ideas', they wouldn't waste them away. Realistically, I can just imagine Rockstar expanding the series, even adding their other projects to the GTA Canon.

My rule No.1 when buying a video game is if the cover has R* logo on it, then i`ll certainly buy it.

Because with R* i`m sure i wont waste my money because they are the kings of open world games and i can`t imagine how disapointed i`d be if V would be the last GTA title.

GTA, MP, RDR, just look at these masterpieces. Puting an end to GTA would also mean the end of my gaming so hell no!
