Can't run the game

I just bought a copy of EFLC, installed it.

 

I'm entering the key on the back of my manual, but the process keeps getting terminated. I've got a weird code aswell, everything is in capital letters, but ther is one letter wich looks like a b. It's just like

 

...QW99-Ab54... etc.

 

What is that ? The only small b in a code full of capita letters and numbers ? A reversed 9 ? WTF ?

 

I paid for this copy, so why do I have to get trough that online activation bullsh*t anyway ?

 

Important element. I bought the copy in the US, but I'm in France right know, is this the problem ?

 

I hope someone can help me out with that nonsense,
