Something I don't like about GTAV...

Recommended Posts

Nah nah nah Gta 6

Crystal Maze actually has a lot of freedom. You can go in guns blazing or use stealth and it takes real skill to use stealth. One of the best missions in the game.

I actually didn't know about the stealth route untill Officer Ronson mentioned it.

GTA 5 also has one of the most strategy thinking missions in the game, one of them being 'Driller' if you're getting gold, you really have to think about who you're going to kill first and see what the construction workers are going to do.

I guess the mission with the most thinking strategy mission would be Black Project in San Andreas.

sadly if you want to get gold in these missions you have to go guns blazing, so it kinda defeats the purpose of using stealth, since it rubs on your face an ugly checklist that forces you to play in a certain way to get the best outcome for the mission (gold)

it is a f*cking pain for people like me who have OCD

That's a good point that a lot of missions in GTAO have far more freedom than in SP... imagine if the Story Mode had so many missions, just with more fleshed out objectives tying to the story.

I often like playing them solo as some sort of SP+.

Wow! Reading the comments above and seeing what they describe 'freedom'. LOL. It seems like another excuse. "U CAN GO IN STEALTHY OR LOUD!" "YOU CAN LEAVE AS TREVOR" xD

But on topic, R* made mission structure feel like a linear shooter. I wouldn't be surprised I they ditched 3rd person indefinitely and GTA6 became another cliché shooter

Dude, 2 options doesn't mean 'freedom' please stop defending this game. Its getting sad to watch.

When Im talking about freedom, Im thinking of missions like Sayonara Salvador ( maybe you haven't heard of it) And I think youre the first erson that didn't know about stealth in Crystal maze.

to me freedom isn't about having a fixed set of ways to win a missions, but having ONE goal, and the whole game to reach that goal.

Sayonara salvatore is the best example in the whole saga... "Go there, kill sal"... once you arrive you can 1) snipe him from the rooftops, 2) snipe him from down the road 3) Run him down with a car (a bit tricky to do) 4) block the entrance of the sex 7 club to trap him (also a bit tricky, but not impossible) 8) forget the club, block the gate of his mansion, OR the entrance of his garage 9) do a quick drive by 10) steal the car WITH sal in it, trap him and blow it up (happened only once to me, I don't remember if that was a bug  )... and if you like cheats, you can end it in many more ways

Im not saying that every mission must have all those options, but what's the point of having a SANDBOX game and a lot of creativity if you can't use them?

"In the crosshairs" from tbogt is a great example: you're trapped on a roof, lot of enemies ready to murder you in a second, and the game STRONGLY implies that you have to face all of them..or, you can do a little jump and run anay, winning in 30 seconds. I was shocked (in a good way), and it was a great moment... I need something like this back

Chill out and get back on topic please. Heated discussions are OK since everyone has a different opinion, but don't start cursing and flaming people, it won't be tolerated.

Yeah but GTA 4 missions were boring as hell

If what you say is true it's maybe because they already knew that with Grand Theft Auto V many new users would be introduced to the series.

I'm still waiting for a difficulty toggle in Grand Theft Auto. Until now, no single GTA game to my knowledge has one.....

Both IV and V have their share of scripted and free mission if you look at with an unbiased eye.

No

Gta V has that ugly screen at the end that tells you what to do for meanningless gold medal, a ugly "swosh" sound and maybe a reward

gta IV in the other hand has a tune, a mission completed text, maybe a reward and nothing else.

No bossing, nothing.

Why do people get so angry about that screen? I never got a gold medal and I couldn't care less but that screen doesn't bother me. It doesn't affect my gameplay in the least.

Whilst I agree with you there, I think it is the fact that the screen blares at you telling you that you have 'failed' in regards to the mission. Thoughts?

Cheers.

I agree but they fixed it in new gen. You have to hit the square button to bring up the screen. It is more hidden.

Really? That is news to me, and is what they should have perhaps done in the first place (TBOGT).

Just about every mission in GTA 4 has an easy way, that mission where u got to kill the black drug lord for Francis can be completed by going across the street and climbing up a crane and sniping him instead of that large ass shootout. Photo shoot takes place at a basketball court surrounded by fully accessible buildings. I went to the roof and sniped his ass. If u look, there is always an easy way. You can even stabb Tom Goldberg to death in his office, which will stealthily kill him, no gunfight in a lawyers office, no wanted level like the biggest interior in the game

I don't like the whole plot in GTA V to be honest. Involving three characters was a bit away from the line. Apart from that, lack of side missions, interiors and unrealistic heists can be accounted for dislike as well. Seriously, GTA V needs some work. For now, I'd say GTA V looks like some digital action movie.

I agree. What's more annoying though is the mission scoring at the end, where they award you medals depending on if you achieved their goals or not. Believe it or not Rockstar, I want to play the game how I want, not how you want. It's a little better on next gen because you don't have to see the score...but why score us at all? It makes me feel like I've failed or something just because I didn't get 12 headshots or switch character 10 times. The worse thing is the time constraints to get that gold medal. You literally have to skip the cutscenes to make it. Pointless.

Killing Tom Goldberg was one of the highlights of GTA 4. I used to crack him over the head with a bat and escape out the window. Good times.

Nah nah nah Gta 6

I just shot Tom Goldberg to death with my combat shotgun, killed all the guards and left the building.

IV really needed a mission replay.

Yea. V had that improvement of implementing replaying missions.

IV missions were so fun. I wish it had that feature

Though I do agree with the lack of side missions and interiors but action movies are so coooool though. It makes you more badass, though only character development can support that.
