Identifying a friendly online

It depends on their choice of horn as well tbh. If it's a stock horn you might be safe. If it's that jazz loop just start firing on them immediately. Truck and police horns are signs of unpredictable divas who get angry when you won't take a ride with them. Usually if they're over honking they deserve to die regardless.

The clown horn tends to be mostly douchebags too.

Those custom horns (Jazz loop, etc) are one of the most obnoxious things in GTAO. I guess people equip their cars with them for a) trolling and b) bragging about how much money they have because some of these horn mods cost $25K-$50K each.

I actually have a jazzy one on a couple of my vehicles because it sounds funky as hell and they'd just been released via the update. But I rarely use the whole thing if I need to honk, just quickly double tap to make a point.

So I'm all about chaos on GTA Online. I've also become so paranoid when someone comes close to me my automatic response is to shoot them. I often get messages saying they weren't going to shoot or something along the lines of that.

 

For you guys, how do you identify a friendly? And how do you let people know your not going to attack?

 

I usually honk a million times to try and show I'm not hostile at the moment. If I get shot at still well, I destroy them.

when someone sits there and blurts the horn after im clearly aware they arent a threat, i shoot them and run.

 

friendly is fine, but dont be a nuisance about it.

I also never find a friendly people with fashion such as:

 

- Mask wearing, usually pig/skull/monkey

- Brief only and flip flop - sometimes with mask

- Black suit. Agent/mafia wanna-be

I never kill first, I go about my business no matter what, I have no fears, everyone can die and I believe in myself to kill anyone....

 

 

I honk or make my trademark dj taunt to show friendliness, other people have honked at me and done taunts also.

 

I let them kill me before I become a complete psycho

I was driving around town and someone was up ahead I was just going to drive past as I am not into shooting up people that don't shoot at me, as soon as I got in range they opened fire and killed me, after I respawned I planned on some retribution till I got a text message saying "sorry" ??? what? It was so unusual I just got back in my car and drove off, I didn't feel like spending the next 20 minutes in a shoot out.

I find most people in online are either aggressive or paranoid and you should probably stay away from both.

If you have an ugly car- good luck

If you have a ridiculous horn- good luck

If you have a functional mic- easy if others have mics

Do the passive mode test- roll up to someone in passive mode, if they wail this and that at you- just let them go

Its difficult to say

 

Had a level four trying to kill me the other day, he wouldn't give up. My underboss came through. we called up the twin Schafers and when into passive mode. The lil guy calmed down and was ready to roll with us.

 

We drove to a clothing shop and saw another commissioner in a helicopter. We all jumped in, and flew to a random rooftop. The pilot jumped out sniped a random, hopped back in and when afk, my under boss said he'd be right back. So me and the level 4 stood on the rooftop for a few mins.

 

While I wasn't paying attention, lil guy shot me in the face with the pistol, close range. Then killed the others in the helicopter, and flew off. all I could do was laugh. We tore his assup..

Kill people regardless. You walk up to someone who seems 'friendly' then they shoot you when your back is turned!

Cautious approach is always best. Although there are the occasional *look at my car, innit coool?* types.

 

I find most of my friends by baffling them with "?" texts on the in-game phone when their trying to find me in a breach somewhere.

 

Communication is the key to identifying a friendly, use your phone (and a keyboard hooked up to your system).

 

Also, pay attention to what's going on in the area, situation awareness is your best friend.
