Police lineup glitch? (character transfer)

I was going about transferring my character about 30 minutes ago (From PS3 to PS4) when the police lineup screen comes up. Everything looks alright. My guy looks like he did on PS3. I press X and he walks to the other room and his appearance changes. (Skin color, hair, eyes, nose etc.)

Has anyone else experienced this? I thought we could keep the look of our old characters?

I searched transfer videos on youtube and found the same exact problem I had.

@ 2:10 watch how he magically switches race lol.

So any idea what's up with this?

My two chars also had this. I found no way to skip that room. So I just made it as close to what it was as possible.

Damn, guess I'll have to plan on doing the same. I did contact R* support too though so I'll see what happens there.

Happened with mine as well, switched from Niko to some Asian guy. Got it back to normal in a jiffy though.

I wished I had saved most of the settings from the last gen creator. Took me awhile to get the character how I wanted.

You're seeing him how he actually is. On the next generation, in high definition!

Nah, not really. It's a terrible new bug that's come up. Try disconnecting from online next time instead of changing them, might not happen again. Otherwise... Try your best to redo em.

Yeah, it's probably just going to take some luck each time logging in. Every time the bug happened I quit back to story mode. We'll see what happens.

Last gen console limitations. That's what they always looked like, but it couldn't render them correctly.

Joke.

So that's why my character looked a few shades darker. Oh well, I ended up mixing his old look with Claude as the father and he looks a lot better.

HAMC AUSTRALIA GTA

To the previous people replying, an not to be rude here, but you're all wrong.

I originally played on 360, an transferred to One on Launch. When transferring my character, everything was the same (Money, Cars, Garages, Purchased Items, ect) BUT one thing was different, my Characters face looked completely different, even though I was wearing the same clothes. I was very disappointed in this, because I had perfected what I liked my Character to look like on the 360. So I went online looking for an answer (like you) an came across a post on the Social Club Support Forum on exactly the same "Issue", an Rockstar had replied to it. I don't remember their exact reply, but they basically said that it wasn't an issue, it was a feature. Since on the 360 & PS3, everyone's character looked pretty much the same, as if they were all in one huge related family. For the PS4 & XB1 (an PC) they wanted to change that, so they added LOTS of variables to how you can change your character when you first transfer over. Problem is, most people (including me) would of chose to just keep the same face as what we previously had on the Old-Gen consoles, Rockstar didn't want this an wanted everyone's character to look different an unique, so they reset ALL of our Chacters, an made us design a new face from scratch. This fixes the issue of everyone's character looking the same, we all have differences an can be told apart now. Basically, it's no an issue, it's a feature.

TL:DR: They wanted everyone to look different an not related like on Old-Gen, so they reset our faces an made us start from scratch.

I hope that answers you're question.

Hmm, interesting. But I could have swore I've seen videos of character's not changing. Maybe some just aren't as noticeable?

Some people (like me) were happy with the way their Old-Gen Character looked, so they tried their best to make their Current-Gen Character look closest to what it originally did. You can't make it 100% alike though, there's always slight differences, (eyes, shape of the face, ect)

Of course there will be slightly different appearances. You're taking something that was created without sliders and importing it into something that does. Along with new features. Stuff will end up changing.

Now, for the character to go from man to woman, white to black, etc, is clearly a bug and something newly broken. Since this issue wasn't nearly as common as it was when the game first came out.
