Right, so after re-installing the whole game I ran a few tests and I can conclude that the prob definitely comes from the VCLF mod as the game runs perfectly normal with all the rest listed mods when VCLF is not included. I can also conclude on the exact spot where the game crashes - it's the no-name-hotel right behind the Marina Sands Hotel with red carpet at the entrance, golden HOTEL letters and a pool place beside it.

 

Could it be that this hotel's files are corrupted in any way?

 

If I knew the names of the files themselves I would have either reported them by now or simply removed them from the gta3.img folder. :(

Remember that thread? I finally figured out which is the corrupt file: that would be washbuild021.dff

 

Without it, the VCLF runs with no issues in the aforementioned area of the map.

 

Let's hope we get a fixed version of the file some day.

Hello! Can you please tell me which files are responsible for the reflection of water in the Docks? Is it possible to somehow pull out the files that are responsible for this fix? I want to install separately from all fixes. Please who knows, help me.

I recommend you not remove anything from the mod, some of them are embedded to IDE/IPL stuff as those puddles in the docks, if you do so, your game will crash forever lol.

It seem that I cannot install the mod with modloader
Is there alternative way to install it? Not with IMG Tools because it take too long to replace each files
I also have OLA installed with Ultimate ASI Loader

Hello all. So I had troubles installing mods on Vice City before but I followed that Youtube video by Blackalien to the T and everything (VCLF corepack, Improvements mod, Improved ped.ifp animations, Open limit adjuster, CLEO, Ultimate ASI Loader and SKYGFX) work perfectly now.

 

The last things I wanted to install were the Widescreen Fix by thirteenag and SilentPatch. I haven't tried installing SilentPatch yet as I wanted to hear from you guys to see if it was worth installing it at this point. Is there anything that the SilentPatch adds that is absolutely necessary or does the Core pack and Improvements download already do most everything? 

 

Also, for some reason I can't install the widescreen patch's scripts folder. Once I put that scripts folder into the main directory I get an error saying "SkyGFX can't be loaded by the default asi loader" 

 

What exactly is happening here? Do the rest of these mods not play nice with the widescreen fix or am I doing something wrong here?

Yes silentpatch is recommended as it fixes scriot stuff while vclf models etc

Ahh that did the trick! Thank you 👍🏼 

 

In regards to those “maps” folders in the SilentPatch mod, would you just drop and paste the entire folders into the games “maps” folder essentially overwriting the entire said map folder.....or are you supposed to just drag the ipl file from each location and overwrite just that specific file from before. 

 

I already dropped all of the “VCLF” maps folders into the game files before this. Which files should have priority I guess?

People still using VCLF? The installation is easy, just drop it in modloader folder and that's all, but when it comes to compabitlity with other mods then you're screwed. First thing people should do is not to use this with other heavy mods. Try to find a balance between VCLF and any other heavy mod the end user is using, where both doesn't crash each other.

 

In my opinion VCLF project needs a reboot.

I gotta say that this hasn't been an issue until now having that the game has been running fine with other mods such as:

XBOX CS characters, destroiable airtrain, open limit adjuster, peds speech, rage italic, silent patch, skygfx, vice mips and wardrobe. 

 

I don't have any other mod that would make drastic changes to the game as the VCLF would. And that makes me wonder...

I installed this mod in GTA VC clean without a mod and crashed the game but if I delete the maps folder it works fine.

 

The .exe is 1.0 this mod is quite unstable to not work in a clean game

Those are only scripts/plugins, it is obvious VCLF will work.

Latest update: when I removed doontoon_top02.dff and LODntoon_top02.dff the problem was fixed. Would this suggest that there is a problem with these two files in particular or it's either a collision or spawning problem?

The PS2 Police Radio (SFX file) doesn't work. It's the one from the PC version. Anyone has the actual PS2 version who could re-up?

maybe the dff is broken, exported for different gta, or other issue. Dunno from where you have these files, but they aint in VCLF.
