I reinstalled VCLF today and I fixed the docks' crane issue, I think.

Also: this which I think was addressed some time back as well.


However, this issue...

Weirder.

 

Okay, I've solved this issue now, I think.

 

At some point the downtows.ipl was changed from this:

1748, LODntoon_top02, 0, -838.986145, 537.0935059, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 1

1853, doontoon_top02, 0, -838.986145, 537.0935059, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 1

 

To this:

1748, LODntoon_top02, 0, -808.7645264, 507.7258301, 59.38245392, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 1

1853, doontoon_top02, 0, -808.7645264, 507.7258301, 59.38245392, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 1

 

Switching back to the original lines fixes the problem for me.

 

Also niltwill your collision edits to the stairs make running and driving up them extremely difficult. Running can be done but painfully slow and driving up them is impossible so you can't complete certain stunt jumps anymore.

What's included?

 

Many collision issues fixed. (Not so noticeable until you begin to poke and shot around.)

Interiors will show more of the outside areas. (Instead of the water if you look around)

Missing mesh of some building's tops are now covered (including their LOD).

Airport's terminals now do not end in a simple wall.

Some models' (peds and buildings) UVW wrap corrected.

Likewise, some buildings' chimney now covered (see: Starfish Island mansions).

Rafael's, Ocean View Hotel's, Strip Club's sign now visible when viewed from the back, not just front.

Strip Club sign with the neon at night will not overlap anymore.

 

I forgot about other things, since I was in the "work and fix ASAP mode", working around 6-8+ hours daily for more than a month with VC, and even then, I did not waste any additional time documenting any and every change. The files speak for themselves, you can examine them yourself for more explanation.

 

Two examples come to mind:

Thanks, I had a feeling that would happen. I'm on this now, it does not take exactly two minutes. About at nbeach.col at the moment..

 

Meanwhile, also updated docks' crane, fixed the basketball court's LOD in washintn.col, and the missing/fallthrough roads in oceandrv

As well the od_colony2_nt.dff and some others (you can no longer get stuck in odndoorway3). Will update the archive when I'm done with the collisions.

 

Edit: Finally done around midnight. Download link should be the same file. Hope this works well now.

Edit2: Redownload it please to fix some issues.

Game just quits automatically at the beginning cutscene of Rub Out and I have only this mod installed.. Any ideas? Does something have to be put outside of modloader?

No, it only restores the "In a Big Country" song during The Driver opening cutscene. The rest is up to you.

but they aint cut on PC, even on steam iirc.

As far as I know, PC version was censored from the very beginning.

No, they were censored in 3.0 version. So even the original xbox version got the lines. Also checked my STEAM version and it does have the haitians lines. Iirc since some time the haitians and original PC radio are again available on steam. (or maybe for purchases pre2012)

The rare Japanese PC release which can be downloaded as a patch in any speedrunner websites was the only version that had the Haitian and Cuban lines removed (save for Colonel's "I hate the damn French") like in any subsequent releases. The Steam version past 2012 only had the songs removed due to copyright claim by Sony Music Entertainment.

 

No, it only restores the "In a Big Country" song during The Driver opening cutscene. The rest is up to you.

The porn actress (csjugzz) was more topless than in the later releases she was censored that she got a bra instead. Edited by Jitterdoomer

I've been playing Vice City for ages and I clearly remember Rico saying "Hey amigo! Good to see you could make it!" and then immediately crying "CHAAAAAARGE!" in Cannon Fodder mission, without mentioning Haitians specifically. Dunno, maybe PC version was censored only partially, gotta check my copy.

Strange, I never heard that line, despite it actually existing in the /audio/ folder. In fact, "Hey amigo! Good to see you could make it!", "This stinking nest of Haitians, we gonna kill 'em all!" and "CHAAAAAARGE!" are three separate audio files. I just checked and can confirm that Umberto does mention Haitian in the cutscene so the censorship must've been done via main.scm. Personally I'm using PS2 EU 1.40 files anyway, now that Silent released VBDec, so I don't really care about censorship.

Even using VBDec some audios still missing, right? Like some assX.wav files, they are stored into the SFX files?

Yeah, on PS2 they seem to be stored inside SFX sets. Would be awesome to extract them (or teach the game how to use PS2 SFX sets), though I doubt there will be any significant difference between PS2 and PC in this case.

There is a tool called PSound which lets you open PS2 related sound and music files into your PC so that you can preview and extract sounds to play it on any media player. But the problem is that you need to play around with the sample rate because the program doesn't give you proper sample rate for each sound files. The SFX files on PC are all combined into one file rather than separating each other.

I have two other mods in modloader that add/change lines, one is another fixes mod that I don't run with VCLF (which by the way includes this but I don't think is part of VCLF though Beckermann-Dewitt is already credited for other fixes) and the second is a grass mod that I don't run because the framerate takes a noticeable hit. But none of them even touch that area so I'm just stumped.

 

UPDATE: Started a new save, kept Modloader config the same, passed Demolition Man, no issues thus far. I can't understand this at atll but eh, whatevs.

F*ck me. I just played Cannon Fodder in (on? with?) both Retail and Steam versions. I even tried switching the game language, but Rico's line was always full and uncut. All my life I was playing the wrong version. Damn.

Excuse me, that's because I - once again - managed to mess up some files regarding IPL/IDE. :sui:

Custom ones should go to vclf.ide + ipl (such as 6304, sub_floodlite2), which will make that building disappear for good at that image you showed. As for the crane not moving, it's because I commented out that original fire hydrant line in littleha.ipl for some experimental stupid reason and then forgot about it. Should not be done, game expects it to be there. It also makes the nearby stationary ship rotate instead if you do that, so I learned my lesson to not mess with the default ones.

Second airplane at the runway in the intro? You mean that one which the landing airplane goes through? It should not be visible in the cutscene..crane issue explained earlier.

Some files got updated or added for gta3.img too, there was a little mistake in the docks crane base model (see that weird triangle when you zoom in with sniper rifle), the far away LOD for both islands seemed too bright at night, and docks10 had partly visible railing only from the front/sides. Also changed col file of cranebasea0, however if you remove flying limit, the rotating part of it is without collision (couldn't ever get that to work, but feel free to try). I don't want to make things uncomfortable with frequent updates and forcing you to re-download/re-apply, but it takes some time and hunting/testing to iron out the remaining mistakes.

Which version? I have my retail DVD disc bought in 2006 and always has been uncensored.

Which version? I have my retail DVD disc bought in 2006 and always has been uncensored.

No idea, it was a pirate copy with half-assed Russian language pack on top. The origin is pretty much untraceable.

Also, I couldn't enter the Pole Position with your newest .col edits. Had to revert back to ones in the last VCLF installer/Mugetsuga's fixes packs. The strangest part is that your last update didn't even touch stripclb.col which leaves me very confused...

 

To clarify I could enter PP, but not go through the doorway once inside.

Thanks for mentioning these, I updated the usual archive - now try and see what happens? Optionally, airport.ipl, airportN.ipl and littleha.ipl can be updated to see a little more of the outside environment in Cafe Robina.

Hey peeps. Been a long time.

 

I've been running Vice City with almost all modifications included in the Leftovers with no problem until tonight, when suddenly after Windows 10 auto-updating itself it just stopped working. Can't even start it.

 

All I get is: Unhandled Exception: c0000005 At Address: 004a6fa0.

 

I tried googling this issue, but all I found was: "004a6fa0 - PluginAttach(void)"

 

Since I ain't no programmer can't really tell where this issue comes from, but my thinking is that it definitely comes from one or more modifications.

 

Anyone have any thoughts on that? Thanks. :)
