So it seems that construction site bug is caused by my savegame. So I returned my vanilla install and merged all XBox mod's IMGs into one and added back files they deleted. Now only if I find my save before I saved with their modified map files.

 

Just tried my old save from 2008 and the bug is still there so you need to start new game to prevent it. Shame.

Hey guys, I updated the original post with some links sent to me by R4GN0R0K of all the fixes everyone else has made. I am really sorry for seeming like I abandoned this project, real life got in the way since I am currently working right now and the other project I am involved with, GTA3D, took a bit of priority.

two other minor differences between PC and PS2 that I'm aware of that I don't think have been mentioned.

 

During the dirtbike race, 3 Haitians on unique black sanchezs (missing aswell) will follow you and try bump you around and if you get off the bike, they will get off theirs and run after you with machetes. I'm sure a simple cleo script would fix this?

 

and Unavailable asset property pickup icons are Red on ps2 and on PC they are blue.

Yeah, I'd prefer not. :p I'd like to keep all those types of threads into the Mod Index thread or something similar, not enough PS2 features to warrant it having an entire thread, not even for San Andreas.

Honestly, I don't even know what this thread is. I thought it was just some guy restoring PS2 textures and now it's turned into once again, another index of work from other people.

If that's the case, everything on the front page should be converted into one pack of work from everyone who contributed their work and my Map Fixes & Improvements thread should be merged with this thread and then this thread should be renamed and moved into the Total Conversions section where we also put Total Overhauls like this. :p

 

From the looks of it now, it's an index (which we already have) that doesn't even credit the people who have contributed, which isn't fair.

If this is in fact a community project, the title will need to be renamed and the thread would need to be moved. Everything that has been changed would need to be put into one single download and we really need an actual list of all the changes made, because right now it's just PS2 this, PS2 that, Corona Fix, Spotlight IDE, etc.. not exactly detailed.

the dropbox mirror i posted before has the option to download the whole package as a zip, i could organize it (by what kind of fix and from whom) and people can just get the whole package, and it could be easily updated without packing everything once something new has been added.

Go for it, as long as the OP is okay with it. Feel free to include my fixes from here, the fixes are already detailed in a list too, so feel free to add them.

I thought this thread was created for fix missing textures (golf statue) and change GTA 3 textures to Vice city (Pia costa east/west shipping co.) and use newer textures (Wk Chariot), maybe uncesor some textures (laundromat).

I started this project on my own with the intention of fixing some things and calling out to the community for some help since I couldn't fix everything with my lack of modding experience with Vice City. I thought the amount of fixes would be very minor when it turns out that I bit off a bit more than I can chew and there was a LOT missing in the PC port. Stuff that I did not even think about when I played Vice City on the PS2 went missing and I didn't notice it when replaying it on the PC late last year.

 

Also in regards to this seeming like something I did to get people to do work for me... I started this project when I had way too much free time to help me cope with depression that I had during a period in my life when I was not able to catch a break. I thought with some of the mentions of fixes I would have enough time to get things fixed myself, but things kinda changed late in November and I managed to get a job from a place I applied at earlier last year. That has kind of taken up my time as of late alongside trying to just get other stuff in my person life sorted out, this is kind of why it seems like I abandoned this thread and or seem like I am being lazy. As I am typing this I am getting read to head to my job oddly enough, get my first paycheck as a matter of fact! :p

Anyways, since I am starting to get an idea of my schedule lately so I know when I have free time and when the personal life sorting slows down, I will be ready to spruce things up for this thread, sort all the fixes with credits to each person who did them, and also get to finishing a fix I started as well. All I have to say is sit back everyone, things will be sorted and ready to go eventually.

i updated the ps2 weapons link

 

i fixed some wrong specular values on every model,i sent the new link to SpooferJahk,so the link on the first post will be down until he updates it

 

edit:i fixed the pc model of the first golf flag
