I'm thinking of updating all the files I've done until now. Now that The Hero with SkyGfx has fixed the backface culling some of them are not needed anymore and others have to be edited.

It's the magic of UNCENSORED FARTS!

OT: You guys are doing an amazing job fixing those issues...

Still wondering here how VC got so "broken".

I found and fixed one more bug(not loaded LOD) to nbeachw.ide in "Xbox Mod Friendly" version:

before:

Qq2lOKH.jpg

after:

cy7JcMT.jpg

Open nbeachw.ide and find this entry:

3948, LODngst2mesh, LODnbeachwbig, 1, 2000, 0

Replace it with:

3948, LODngst2meshdam, LODnbeachwbig, 1, 2000, 0

Does anyone know why the intact model of the construction site building remains underneath the exploded model (see screenshots below)? Is this a scripting or a model error?

Also, for some reason, you can't see the Sentinel within Sunshine Autos if you're looking from outside (it's invisible through the glass).

You can easily fix this issue by using this mod: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=6226

The problem with the visibility of Sentinel in Sunshine Autos from the windows is a transparency bug or something

That just makes the building always the blown-up model. Kind of a dirty solution.

I guess it is a scripting error after all.

I know, it's a cheaper fixer-upper...

Hence why it states 'install AFTER demolition man'

Finally got off my ass and reinstalled VC so I could have a clean gta3.img so the mod wouldn't throw an unhandled exception at me. Mod is great, however, i'd like to use some VC beta car meshes. Touching gta3.img is out of the question, right?

If you don't want to edit the GTA3.IMG, but want beta cars in the game alongside the regular cars, get Maxo's vehicle loader and install it

Then go here for the beta cars: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=26277

Download the MVL versions and put them in the MVL folder under vehicles

Was thinking of doing so, but I use an odd mix of Almost610, Son Of Big Boss and I think TripleAs vehicles.

Well, I did it the old fashioned way and luckily everything is fine and the game didn't explode or something.

Nice job with those, but I want to give you a little feedback; if you find more of those text changes or skin changes that don't seem to be a mistake (like that guy who got a moustache on pc) you shouldn't really bother with those. They are most likely design changes, since R* had a time to check the game content during the PC version, they most likely decided to change a few tiny details that they couldn't in the PS2 version, just like with the other games (and the GTA V PC/PS4 remaster).

But besides that, all of your changes like glass bugs, door textures and others are truly great and I can't wait to feel even a tiny bit like playing Vice City again.

no sarcasm in this post, I mean it

Heh, I completely understand where you are coming from with that. The thing is, if we are trying to restore everything that was changed when Derp* ported the game onto the PC, then we should try to restore as much of it as possible to get it looking as close to the PS2 version .Even if it includes slight design changes, which aren't very noticeable until you look again, such as the posters in the printworks, girly magazines in the Film Studio, etc, etc

Glad you do

Simple workaround to see intro videos for people who use WS fix, create empty wndmode.ini in root folder. It's not an actually fix but it works (at least for me)

I don't want to seem like i'm hijacking the topic, but I have an interesting crash problem.

It happens only in the area of the Ammu-Nation near the church with the fountain:
gkts7O9.jpg
aY5ZBKm.jpg
Googling that error message brings up a few extremely unhelpful stupid decade-old posts

All I have is VCLF, Silent Patch and SkyGFX.

Actually, I left one thing out, my bad - a "fixed" main.scm with Teargas spawning at the copshop and the spawn for the Cuban outfit fixed.
I guess at this point I might at well ask for a 100 percent savegame used with and coupled with an .scm with the same fixes applied to it. (just in case the one I got is screwed up in some way)

I tried with the stock .scm and get the same sh*t....this is ridiculous.

Does someone know where exactly that address points?

So I boot the game up with Cheat Engine in the background, hop to that address to look at it.....then it crashes with 004bb144. I swear, this thing is sentient or something. I didn't even touch it, I just looked at it, went back ingame, drove an inch or two then BANG, it crashed.

So, I found out I can trigger 00579dd2 every time by buying something in that Ammu-Nation, shooting the clerk, and stealing a car and trying to drive away heading towards the Hunter helipad.

I (think) restoring an older save and .set file fixed it.

After seeing Hyman Condo :

I've started to think that some places have missing coronas and I'm trying to fix them :

Heliport from VCN :

The two heliports near the stadium :

Still many coronas to add around the stadium but what do you think about the changes above ?

All in one download

What is new?

  • All fixes included (until 02/08/2015).
  • Two kinds of installation in the ZIP: Manual installation and IMG installation.
