Vice City - The Leftovers Fix

new stuff I've done so far, will show pics soon:

 

- added carcols support for cabbie, kaufman cab, reefer, zebra, and police chopper, game seems to crash however when I try to add a carcols entry for the last one so I'm not including it

- updated cutscene turbo sabre with final wheels, final textures, and added windows/a windshield to it

- remade the fat running animation so the legs don't wobble to and fro

 

I also began making some custom billboard textures to replace the old bad ones, though I'm not sure if they belong here since they're not really straight "fixes":

(on the PC this sign (along with the benches) was mean street taxis co, the actual building uses the same texture for the sign as the benches do, which looks really blurry and low-res)

 

not sure how far I wanna go with it but I wanna redo all the ones that were clearly designed as square posters and look horribly stretched/barely readable

Finally some development news ! I ready to VC, but fixes in this thread so good, so better wait to final release. By the way I read your post about PS2 water with mipmapping, so all that I need to use it is PS2 particles and ViceMips ?

oh yeah I forget about those :p, yeah all you need is vicemips to use them. I'm doing the other generic textures too just to round things up and now I'm just putting all the txds I'm making for this mod through magic txd, so they're gonna have mipmaps and dxt5 and all that good shish

Another thing about the animations. Would it be possible to port over III drive-by animation to VC? I always thought VC one is unnaturally fast compared to slowly pulling out the Uzi in III.

I could do it but the VC one makes more sense IMO because you shoot as soon as you switch the camera and press the button

Hey, somebody can convert this cutscene PS2 model from Recruitment Drive mission to PC? I am on work and I can't convert it myself :(

Edit: Link Don't put her into other IMG than gta3.img or VC won't load that cutscene

Edit2: As always I'm idiot because I don't have the older version with her uncensored. I'll try to find that.

First off, there are no windows in the Jocksport in Downtown

One more tiny detail; The jewellery store opposite Jocksport is a white greenwall

When I replaced drugstorext.dff with the one from the leftover fixes dropbox, these objects disappeared

I downloaded the IPL that Neo made and replaced the file of the same name, but when I go ingame, nothing shows up

 

 

What about a restoration of these objects?

There also seem to be various holes around the Vice Point Mall interior for some reason. Some spaces behind the non breakable windows on the upper floor have missing corners allowing you to see underneath.

 

Again, installing the Jocksport signage fixes seems to remove the original white-framed windows. There also seem to be issues with polies, as only the front side of the awning shows, and when you stand underneath, nothing is there

There aren't any windows there in the pc version.

 

For some of the other issues, open the IMG and with imgtool, rebuild the archive. Sometimes it will help after adding many files.
