Jago 2,735 Posted March 30, 2015 Share Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) going through and fixing some animations, list of what I've done: fixed one frame in the minigun/flame thrower animation where tommy's arms twitch to the left imported some animations from PS2 including the weapon idling stances, some woman walking animations created a new idle animation for the rocket launcher, so it matches the others and isn't just one plain pose fixed one of the death animations so the last frame is exactly the same pose as a normal corpse and isn't off added an idle animation to the knife so it isn't just one pose, made using the fist-fighting stance modified the talking and head-scratching animations so the legs stay in one place things that are more general improvements than fixes per se: replaced the "shot in the stomach" death animation with the one from GTA 3 because it's more visually interesting replaced one of the jogging animations with one from GTA 3 because both of them were exactly the same originally, now women and men jog differently things I plan on doing: fix the passenger animations for the bikes so the pose doesn't flicker to a different one when someone jumps on replace the female stance with one converted from GTA 3, as it seems to the same one but sloppily converted find more animations that are different on PS2 (if there are any) find a way to make the unused "sword" animation group function, so tommy holds the katana with two hands instead will upload something soon™ Edited March 30, 2015 by Mr. Jago Sergiu, ClaudX, Sneed and 2 others 5 Link to post Share on other sites

The PC version normally recycles the textures from GTA 3, when they're supposed to have completely new leaves, newspapers, fire effects etc. PS2 Weapon Names Rolls back some attempts by R* to avoid copyright infringement by giving the weapons their original names. The Kruger is now called the Ruger, the .357 the Python, the Pistol the Colt 45 etc. TEXTURES PS2 Auntie Poulet Gives Auntie Poulet her PS2 texture, which has a purple outfit instead of a yellow one. PS2 wfyg2 Replaces one of the groupie peds with her PS2 equivalent, which looks completely different. PS2 Posters Replaces the Vice City tourism ad in the Ocean Drive hotel room with its PS2 equivalent, which depicts a seagull flying over a lighthouse instead of an ocean liner. Butcher poster fix Adds a picture of a butcher in the window of Carnicero Romero, which was present in the PS2 version. PS2 Ruger texture Replaces the Ruger's texture with its PS2 equivalent, which has a wooden receiver (don't know if that's the right terminology) instead of a metal one. MODELS PS2 Weapons Replaces the weapons in the game with their PS2 equivalents, which includes slightly different models and different textures (like a wooden receiver for the Ruger). Might make the texture directly above redundant. MAPS Corona IDE fix Removes some extra bits of light around Ocean Drive that apparently served no purpose. Spotlight IDE fix I think this made it so spotlights can be seen from any distances on the map. Construction IDE fix Fixes a bug with the construction site where once it was destroyed in "Demolition Man", the normal version of the building would still render over the wrecked one. Might fix the draw distance, too. Howlin Pete's fix Fixes some transparency effects with the storefront of Howlin' Petes Biker Emporium. Fixed Havana shop I believe this one adds some details that were missing from the PS2 version of the game. Golf Flag 1st hole fix On the PC version some of the golf flags at Leaf Links have messed-up texture mapping, which results in a really stretched texture. This fixes that. AUDIO PS2 Flash FM with "Running with the Night" Replaces Flash FM with a version from an early copy of the game on the PS2, where Lionel Richie's "Running with the Night" plays at the end, along with an extra bit of DJ commentary. "The Driver" sound fix Replaces the cutscene audio for "The Driver" with one from an early version of the PS2 game, where Big Country's "In a Big Country" plays in the background instead of "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. So don't need download one by one any of the fixes. true true, I wasn't to mention anything else originally but I felt like tacking on that extra bit about the map fix pack at the end, edited more animation developments: f*cku animation taken from ps2, where Tommy does the "up yours!" gesture instead of the finger fixed walk_fat so the left arm doesn't twitch between the first and last frames fixed RIFLE_fire so the last frame matches up with the idling animation and the weapon doesn't slide out of Tommy's left hand motorbike passenger animations seem to be impossible to fix without extra coding, as the animation for passengers jumping on is the same one the driver uses I could always make it like in the beta if that's preferable... EDIT: I got it working, overlooked installing some files for the mall. Anyways, with this working I will very soon compile screenshots, fix up the weapon names, and finally be on track with this thread with credits and everything. I have come back again and... I still can not get anything to work like at all. Vanilla Vice City, no other mods, constantly get the unhandled exception error at startup. Example: Delete mall.col from gta3.img Then add the mall.col from the pack to gta3.img I have everything from the pack and my game works correctly even reinstalling it.
